FitBark GPS for Dogs & Cats

Every time I leave home with my dogs for more than a day, one of the two fitbarks will experience issues, such as draining batteries, sync issues, or not following the dogs . Fitbark is aware that their device gets easily confused and instead tells me to re-sync and re-add the devices, which usually causes even more issues. I need to buy a different brand and fire these guys.

Our experience with Fitbark has been extremely disappointing. Every time we've needed to track our dog, it doesn't work. I've contacted customer service over five times now, they've done their "troubleshooting", and nothing changes. I requested a return and refund since their system is clearly broken. They've denied every return request and asked me to contact them next time we have an issue so they can troubleshoot it. The device has NEVER worked as advertised, if at all.

There was no trial at all. I bought the year, and once I filled in everything and was able to get a look at the app..... it crashed. I haven't been able to get it running even once. I'm out a 100 for the tag and a 100 for the subscription, and I can't even use the app. Don't buy it!!!! My phone told me to put it in deep sleep since it keeps crashing to keep my phone running smoothly.

Updating my review. Initially, app wouldn't work because latest version was unavailable in play store. Not only that, but customer support was unaware of the glitch & spent an hour troubleshooting. Could only use IM, no phone capability which was frustrating. The issue was corrected within a few days and it has been working nearly flawlessly ever since. We successfully used the tracking to locate our pup when he got away twice! Appreciate the updates and ability to monitor health. Great app!

I had a lot of issues at the beginning trying to sink the fitbark, it was just not working, however I voice what was happening before I return it and the customer service and technical support were just amazing. They continued trying to help me until they figure out the issue. Now the fitbark is working great and I'm even thinking about getting one for the rest of my dogs.

So, after major initial problems with battery life, i was ready to throw in the towel. However, the FitBark team was outstanding, and worked with me over the course of almost a week assisting me with trouble shooting. Together, we figured out a dns issue on my router, blocking the FitBarks from connecting to the server, so they were draining the battery using the cell network. Once i fixed my router issues, they work perfectly. Great battery life, customer support, and product!

The app is easy to use and intuative. The important things are there, such as battery, pet location in real time, and extreme accuracy. I love the GPS coverage with 3 main carriers, switching when the signal is weak. Interesting data regarding my pet health is provided. We only travel in the US so no need for additional WiFi station purchase and syncing difficulties. I don't use the "pack requests" feature either. There are occasional emails with info and helpful tips. Overall, verry satisfied.

Customer service is amazing... I have had a couple times where one of the 4 fitbarks we have would not sync all I have had to do is chat with them and they have always been able to get it to work. Only one time they were not understanding why it would not sync, sent me another link to look farther into it, before that got downloaded it had synced. Today I received the order of new covers, I had mistakenly ordered the wrong ones, they sent me a return label and are sending the correct ones out.

The app is great but the app loading and syncing are slow. Data won't sync in the background and there is no way to check the battery level so you don't know when you need to charge. Also we got the non-gps version tracker and whenever we took our dog for a run, it underestimates the mileage. My GPS tracker on my wrist showed we ran for 4 miles but the dog tracker would estimate for 2.5, so I think the points system might not be 100% accurate.

The customer service is excellent. They keep trying, trying, and trying until they figure out a solution. However, this will be the last fitbark for us. We have the one without GPS, and it won't sync anymore. You have to keep a phone or old tablet nearby, and even then, it takes several minutes to get it to sync. If you are not personally next to the fit bark for a day, you will lose the data, and it records as zero points. I wish they kept the base, but they have done away with it.

Amazing customer service. We are fairly new to Fitbark. (Activated about a week ago) I've had a few questions, and while it seems the app has a few things that need some work, the customer service is great! It's really a fun addition with my Fitbit. I am really enjoying the information so far. I am a little nervous about the gps working correctly if my dog were to take off, but it's better than nothing. At least I'd have an idea of which direction to go looking.

Great product and app. Fun to use. You just need to take some of the info with a grain of salt. This device is not like a human smart watch, it doesn't take their heart rate, etc. So the health info is really just their best guess based on the info the device can collect. If you keep that in mind it can be very fun to keep up with their sleep and activity levels,as well as the location and tracking. Overall love it.

I have 3 dogs each with FitBark. The data collected is interesting. I have noticed a discrepancy with activity reporting. Despite taking the same walk, first thing in the AM, the distance walked for each dog is varies by nearly a mile. The battery life is excellent, and setup is not prohibitively difficult.

Why I like it: This thing really helped me get my old dog into shape. We're taking it slow by hitting a movement goal a little bit lower than the suggested goal based on his Age, Weight, and Height because he's got a weak hip, but we're hitting our personal goals with a lot more consistency. The different graphs you can generate are nice too. What I didn't like: The interface is easy to get lost in. The graphs could use a interactivity overhaul. Slow sync issues, but my internet also stinks.

Better tracking than air tags with the bonus of monitoring my dog's health. The customer service is prompt, informative, and friendly. The downfall is that you have to pay for a subscription to get GPS tracking outside of designated wifi and Bluetooth areas. It is just under 10 dollars, though, and, for me, it's worth it to track my pet in real time for both location and health. If you're feeling social, it gives the opportunity to connect with other pet owners and pets!

We got Fitbark as a replacement for Whistle when they sold to another company. I like the size of the Fitbark and that the device covers come in several colors and are changeable. So far, they do a good job of keeping tabs on my dogs and reporting on their activity levels and health metrics. Fortunately, we haven't had to try the tracking function, but it gives a sense of security that it's available if the dogs decide to go exploring on their own.

this app and device worked fine for a couple of years until a recent update. Now it's inaccurate with location, forced to have location turned to "all the time" per the company, and the battery runs down within 24 hours as a result, even though it sits on the shelf at home until I put my dog's collar on for a walk. I'm very unhappy with the changes and will likely NOT renew and find something else. Even the way the app looks on-screen and the way data is displayed is awful and confusing now
