Awful app. It's slow, buggy, and now requires you to sign up for their caca cloud service to see the gif alerts, which was never mentioned in the documentation. It's also ridiculous that you have to use their caca app to setup their products. They also do everything they can to keep customers from being able to use open-source solutions. Neither their firmware nor app are open source either, so you have no idea what they're really doing. Don't go with Foscam.

Lousy, poorly documented, frustrating. I am a 35+ year computer professional. I know my way around hardware and software. Recently purchased a new router and once again had the great displeasure of attempting to connect my Foscam cameras using this app. Three years on there have been no improvements to this app's useability. I've given up -- simply not worth my time and anger. Recommend avoid this hardware/software. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. And, yes, I reset the camera when attempting to connect. I've already placed an order for new IP cameras from a different manufacturer. I can't waste any more time on this product.

This app used to work but now all it does is freeze on every single device I have. I have two cameras, and neither work on the app for more than a few seconds before freezing. We've tried this on my phone my tablet my wife's phone my wife's tablet and a couple other devices all with the same results. The cameras are wired in and connected to a high-speed network I've pinged them with no problems they just freeze. Needs fixed makes the cameras useless.

After a painfully slow ”secure connection” to the camera you can move it around. And that's it. The SD video recordings are barely usable. Sometimes you can see today's recordings. Never you can see previous dates recordings. Never you can download a video. If you manage to watch a video you will need to go back to get the painfully slow ”secure connection”. Perhaps the objective is for you to buy cloud service?

Unreliable & frustrating. If you turn camera off, it takes forever to connect the camara back, if it connects at all. You'll find your self setting, resetting, turning it on & off, but nothing will work. You may try later or another day & might be lucky to get it to work. So if I'm leaving my house & want to turn the cameras on, nothing will work and I end up having no security cameras working. If it works and I try to access the camera to see what's going on in my house, it disconnects.

I trusted Foscam for years. Not any more. They used notification spam to push their sales over the holidays. Now they keep changing their license agreement on the app. This means that the app logs you out. You then have to login to the app again after clicking the checkbox that you agree to the new terms. The problem with that is you don't know you are logged out of the app until you either try to use it or when someone tries to ring your doorbell and it doesn't work! Complete BS.

I really, truly hate this company, I hate their products and, especially, this app! They sold me on the ad card feature but didn't tell me that there are so many restrictions to using the card that the ONLY feasible way to use the camera is to buy cloud service. And guess what? I bought it! But, in order to use the other feature they sold me on, object recognition, you need to buy YET ANOTHER, totally different service for even more money! The app is slow, buggy, the upsell is constant. Hate em!

It does the job, but I have huge issues getting the feed to load. I have to either reset my phone, or shut down and open the app many times every time I want to see the feed. Also, it will randomly freeze, and unless I check the small timer in the corner, I won't realize. Using this as a puppy cam, it's stressful to know I could think my dog is sleeping, but really she's causing trouble. The audio quality is also very poor. It picks up on ambient noise, like the heating, more than voices.

The motion area in the app is completely useless. Used to work but over the last several updates, the entire area detects motion even though I clearly don't have the entire area selected. The only way to change it is to login to my PC. Also, setting the motion detection hours doesn't work AT ALL in the app when it used to. Also have to do that from a computer.

So my camera was taking forever to load and was only showing the same screen from 3 days ago with no change of time, date, ect....updated: sop couldn't find the problem and finally just webby home and unplugged everything, and plugged it back in --Result-- still loads slow, but it's up to date and running ;) and speed is a "little" faster at getting to the live screen than before. Haven't had any of problems other than that so far

Since Sept. 1, 2023, i've had various problems w/ this app. One of my cameras won't show up on the app or on my PC. There also is no recording playback option when i go to settings, so i now can't view recordings. This is not convenient as we use it for surveilance purposes in our local 24hr access fitness center. These changes occur w/out notice & w/out me doing anything differently on my phone. Very frustrating!

It is almost one year that i got this app and the camera. Still i cannot make it work consistently. I called the company 4 times somewhere in China, they are hard to reach and when you finally reach someone, they are very hard to understand. they have not resolve the problem yet, after one year... My camera keep going off and i cannot have a live feeding/connection consistently. 50 or 60 % of the time the camera is off. Don't waste your time with this. The app ALFRED is a better alternative.

Worse camera app ever. Whatever you do don't buy the new solar powered camera it's completely garbage. I purchased three none of which work correctly. You will be constantly scrambling to find a very tiny on off switch. If you are lucky turning camera off and on praying it connects. Also the camera most likely won't detect motion to record. The battery will stay drain. When the motion sensing light does work it won't work as it should. There are yet even more issues. I repeat undependable junk.

Worse than ever. I've had nothing but issues lately that never had happened prior. Camera take too long to load. I've paid for cloud services and it still will not record or let me go back and view. I've put in multiple ticket requests. They just tell me to restart and reset everything over and over and nothing fixes it. Ever had these issues in the beginning. My internet and router have not changed.

I installed it in a vacation home. However, the connection is constantly lost for weeks/months at a time and app can't connect. I am told by foscam that the only way to get it back is to be at the location, in that Wi-Fi to do some long-winded technical process that I've never heard of before. They don't know what they are talking about, as every few weeks, app starts working again without me having done a thing or been on location. Eventually it stops again. Awful product, app and tech support.

Well it works, it will allow you to pan and tilt the camera. But it is pretty basic for a company that sells camera's. The camera view moves every time you touch the screen, most options can only be accessed in portrait mode, the alarm is seconds after the motion happened. Kinda of says i have to use a pc because better software is available, i don't need much, which is a shame that i feel that this app doesn't do much.

This new update has messed up my R2 camera. Not sure why but now my camera either won't connect, or if it does, I get a very black screen and it is super laggy. I can see a lamp on but everything is pitch dark. Anything I select ( IR, sync time, or motion sensor) doesn't work. It tells me it's not logged in or selection failed. This update is HORRIBLE! Please return it to how it was. Nothing works and I feel like my money has been wasted. PLEASE FIX THIS!!

Update no I will not contact your support team! You took away the free cloud saving that was part of the reason I bought the camera! Yea it was only 3 day saving but still it was part of the purchase of the camera. I have very little free time and what I do have worth of free time I sure don't want to spend emailing a bunch of people that won't have a clue on how to resolve the issue as they are improperly trained and reply back with generic responses! I know as I deal with it all the time!

Same issues as other reviews. It worked great for a while, now it won't connect to Wi-Fi and nothing but errors. Contacted support, but it just goes in circles with unhelpful advice. Ditched it and went with another company and found a much better quality camera with no streaming issues and far better audio. Sorry Foscam, but I had to move on.

I try to be objective and not overreact, but this app is just junk. Spend the money on the camera, just to have a very subpar experience. First of all, I made sure my wifi connection was more than adequate. This app freezes and needs restarting literally every few minutes. It will also lag then catch up in super speed. I use it for babysitting naptime and it's kinda useless. Wouldn't buy again & feel too bad to sell it and pass the problem to someone else who thought it was a great idea.
