Glitchy, and disconnects calls at random. Sends automated messages warning to call someone or your number will be terminated even though I make calls often. Sometimes the app just sends my phone onto the internet for ads even though I didn't click on any adds. It's pretty faulty, but the app is free. So don't expect much; at least you can make international calls.

Fair hustle. It can receive google voice verification codes, but won't show you them unless you pay $5. Also, while the ads were intrusive in terms of screen real estate, the ads them selves were of higher quality / less annoyed - actually clicked on a few. The hardest part to figure out is where you set up the initial free trial number (if you skip straight to trying to message it will seem like there is no free option; i almost uninstalled and 1stared this without finding it)

Such a great, practical, easy to use application! I've downloaded many similar apps that promise the same functionality, precision and practicality. For some reason or another, those apps didn't fulfill their promises, nor hold up to their end of the deal. The only function on this app that I have found a problem with, is the quality of the connection on the phone when I'm either making or receiving a phone call. I have to literally wander around until I find an aquired reception. (****/*****)!

Had this app for several years and up until recently it worked great! After the last update, it became more, or less unusable! Many times it won't even load and other times it takes so long to load it borders on unbelievable! Slow, sluggish, unresponsive and top heavy with ads. Sadly, I am going to have to delete this app. I have now found another one which is fast quick and friendly! The way this app once was. Don't know what these developers are thinking, but they are completely out of touch

It worked well for me when I got my paid number in May 2018. It wasn't until early November 2019 that I couldn't make phone calls or text my family back in the States. I'm stationed overseas by the way. I was able to receive messages from them, but I can't respond back to them either in text or make phone calls. I tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling thinking that it could somehow updated or correct itself. Yet, it still doesn't work. Please fix this issue Freetone. Thank you.

I'm telling you I came across so many different Wi-Fi calling apps and this one is by far the best one and the last one that I will try. The connection even when it's not that good the voices still don't come out distorted. You also get your own number and with incoming calls and free outgoing calls within the US along with video calls and text messages so I would recommend this app to anybody anytime of the day. Free tone definitely gets 5 stars from me.

It seems to suit my purposes very well. I was looking for free phone service that would opporate just like regular cell service. FreeTone has all the features of normal cell service. The sound is good. There is a bit of a delay so its possible to talk over each other when conversing. Just need to get used to it. You can send messages with attachments...even vide chat. If you have it turned off or not in wifi range your messages will be there when you turn it on. Bottom line: Its all you need

Way too many ads! Constantly freezes, when making or receiving voice calls, when they're answered I am unable to be heard. It's like my microphone or whatever is no longer working and not sure why. I've tried everything. Also there is a giant advertisement at the bottom of the screen that won't go away that takes up literally half of the screen the entire time I'm using the app. It has been a great app and I've used it for the better half of about 5 or so. Kinda on the fence now using it :(.

It works, barely. There are so many ads that it crashes VERY OFTEN in the middle of a text. Phone calls are dropped before I can actually answer because of again, ads slowing it down. The only good thing about it is you can text for free and there are plenty of other apps that do the same but better. EDIT: Forgot to mention this app even when I'm not using it at all for a day, eats up almost 45% of my battery alone. I've never had to charge my phone so many times in a day!

That app itself is really cool & convenient, however, there is continuous ads that pop up(even while you're trying to text a message, it'll pop up every couple words) and it's hard to get out of the ads and then when u do, it just keeps going back 2 the ad, so that part is frustrating!! If not for that, I'd give it 5☆!

This is an incredible and super convenient app to have ESPECIALLY if you're ever in a tight spot financially and are unable to pay your cell phone bill which unfortunately has been the case for me the past few months. However, thankfully with this app I still have a working cell and cell number and whether it be through call, text, or voicemail I still have the ability to keep in touch with those I need to. Obviously a source of wifi is needed but thankfully these days that is fairly easy to find. Also, even if you aren't around a source of swift when someone attempt to call/text you, you will still receive the text, missed call, and/or voicemail as soon as you do. There are quite a few similar apps in the play store and I've downloaded and tried out A LOT of them but this one is honestly BY FAR the best of the lot. MUCH better than even the most popular/highly downloaded apps of its kind. In fact I am genuinely VERY surprised that it's not at the top of the list or at least close to it.

This is a good app. I'm able to talk and text both outbound and inbound for free with ads. I can remove the ads if I choose the paid version. Although, it may be other software malware and not this app, It does sometimes have a few problems, such as I did not hear the phone ring or the notification when I received calls, but, I do receive inbound calls and notifications; so far, it is the best talk and text app that I have used on both Android and Apple devices to date. I recommend this app.

Lots of dropped calls (and the dreaded: "can you hear me... how about now?") on my very fast, reliable WiFi at home and over public WiFi networks. Otherwise, it's a decent app to use. Ads are horrible, and the almost constant upselling getting texted to you to upgrade to Premium. In my opinion, it's not a good enough app to upgrade to premium because of the inconsistency in calls, VM's and texts. It could be a good app if there issues at resolved. -⭐

It's free trash, but also my only number for years. Unstable and buggy. Bad sound quality, "distant" to other. Cannot pick up calls when phone is locked. Laggy exchanges so allow some time in-between. Wonky background filtering, speak slowly and make longer sentences. Delays when receiving some sms. Called the wrong number once or twice. Some notifications get stuck. In rare cases, nothing, voice or dial pad presses, will get through to caller. Super ad-heavy, slow to load. But hey, it's free.

Absolutely 100% unusable for talking on. Drops calls reliably, I realized the calls drop simply to give you ads, as the calls NEVER drop on speakerphone. Yes, a little banner at the top is not enough, they want to end your call so they can show you a full screen ad. You have really fast internet? Can download movies in 20 seconds? Doesn't matter it'll still cut in and out on any device on any WiFi connection. Makes you wonder why this app needs so much bandwith.

WORST TEXTING APP EVER. Bad enough reviews, but within 10 seconds I felt like I was on a scam site with multiple popup ads. A single click anywhere and the ads are taking over where it takes 6x to properly text a single letter. Anything you click, ads that completely cover the screen. And if you were wanting to use this for singing up to apps with an activation code, you have to pay premium to even see the message, let alone the texter. Nope. Never again. Do not do it. Waste of time.

I've liked the app. It's very handy. Only problem is the latest update has the app in an infinite refresh cycle so it's currently unusable. Can't click on anything because it's too busy constantly refreshing with the circular arrow icon. Didn't do this before until the latest update. I'm a paying customer. Have an ongoing subscription. So I hope this gets fixed very soon. I'll bring it back to the 5 stars I think it deserves when this app-destroying bug is fixed. No fix yet.

Better than Text Now etc... this free call and texting app is, in my opinion the better one that's free that I've had. There are ads after each voice call incoming and outgoing but they're short and non intrusive. The free text messaging feature has ads but it seems like they're only required when switching between conversations. 5 stars from me!!

Somehow I ended up paying for the add free version twice a week. After emailing for a resolution, I found out that I had a duplicate purchase for one plan. I was advised I would be refunded but have not heard back since. I canceled one of the subscriptions yesterday and now, though one account still shows active, it appears as though I have no subscription. This has gone from a headache to a nightmare and I still haven't been refunded, contacted again, or found any resolution.

This is the ABSOLUTE BEST phone app there is..hands down! And I've tried a few of them, believe me. With this app, you can choose a phone number of your liking & it doesn't have to be your plan phone number either. You can actually choose a couple of different phone numbers using the same app just making seperate accounts for them. This app is totally 💯% free from watching videos or playing games to earn minutes as well! I've never run out..everything is unlimited & it's all free all the time!!
