Very good app and good song suggestions. But lately the app stops playing songs after every song. plays one song and freezes. I again have to open the app and click next song for it to resume playing. This is the only issue(reinstalled app on my phone and just a few days back got a new phone. still issue persists). I gave 5 starts previously but only 3 this time because of this.

Very bad app for music. I took a premium subscription recently with an account using my phone number only. I was not able to add email address since I logged in with that email previously. It kicked me out while I was on a long drive from home and couldn't login. I had to use the ad version the whole way. Even now, it shows 'limit exceeded' when I try logging in. I didn't ever use it on any other device. Wouldn't suggest to anyone. Waste of money.

From 5 stars in 2014 to 1 star in 2021, example of what NOT to do with an app. Cluttered UI, frozen radio stations, lost songs, playlists, stupid hotshots. Best of all: you still have the exact same experience with a paid version, just offers basic need to play music with your screen off and no ads. Not pointing out aggressive conversion tactics here, I get that. But I'm not going to pay even $5 to get the same UI experience and technical problems. Spotify will at least give me value for my $10.

I hardly leave reviews, but Gaana, you need to do better. I don't know what happened, but ever since last year or so, your app has been malfunctioning. The songs never play when I am on a different app or if my screen is off. I might as well use YouTube then! I remember not having this issue in the past; the only problems back then were not having a couple of my fave songs licensed and you didn't have the lyrics feature. Now the whole app's a mess. Until you fix this I must use another app :(

I updated the app and it becomes waste. With new UI songs keep pausing, keep changing sound level..old app was better in performance. You guys have to understand one simple thing that we use this app as background app which play songs in background...so that should work without any issue..new ui waste if it can't function core things. now I finally uninstall it and install saavan which is much better..

Multiple flaws in the app. The mobile gets heated up both during online and offline mode resulting in battery drainage. Some of the old songs even 2 year old are of very bad quality. Don't think they are even 128kbps. I am using a paid subscription. They should be transparent with song quality and strive to improve the song quality as space is not a constraint anymore in today's world.

I have been a Gaana Plus user for the past few years. I usually subscribe to the monthly pack and then move to the yearly pack. But yesterday my pack expired and when I tried to play a song this morning they were not even allowing me to play the song after listening to the ad. The funny part is that I couldn't even find most of my favourite songs in the app and they give some sort of useless songs as a result that no one likes to hear. Finally, it's time to switch to Spotify bye bye gaana🙏

Poorly designed app. Can't quickly add a song to play list or dislike it. The auto queue feature is a joke. Plays completely random songs from what you heard before. It's an OK app if you just want to search and play songs. Most of their playlists are static. They don't add many new ones or update existing ones. I did buy a year of Gaana Plus. But won't be renewing it.

Good app with lot of songs collections. However why I'm not using is because, each time I click the notification about a song collection, it clears the current queue and starts playing the new collection. WHY !!!! If you only show the playlist without clearing current queue, I can save the playlist for later. If you can fix this bug in basic use-case, you'll be at par with other apps like wynk, etc.

No app comes closer to gaana+ for hindi music in US. Download all ur music to ur phone and listen in offline mode. Great for remote parts in US. Reasonably priced with all necessary features. However, clear Playlist and accessing player has been made extremely difficult in new design. Not a user friendly approach, especially for paid subscribers.

New interface has a lot of flaws. Thae capability to clear the current songs in the playing que has been removed. When playing from a playlist created but the user it adds randomly adds songs even though the option is turned off in the settings. Lastly the whole Go to Party option is very confusing and not sure what/why/how it is used and edited.

3/31/21 - App keeps freezing at regular intervals. I may be playing a Gaana recommended Play list and after a few songs the music just stops. At this time the app is unresponsive. Pretty soon as OS window prompts up with options to close the app or wait. This has occurred a number of times in the past few weeks. Phone runs Android 11 with the latest patches (March 2021).

The most amazing thing is you can listen to all the songs online. After buying this premium membership.. my opinion has completely changed.. Here are three big reasons i switched to spotify now... 1. Unwanted Smart Downloads 2. Playlist doesnt show up 3. songs deleted from queue again show up as my favorites. Other reasons. Songs keep pausing for no reason. app crashes many a times. Mixes they create FOR YOU, has just one or two songs you listened earlier A request team.Upgrade ur Algorithm

I have been using gaana (app free version with ads) for few years, which they have stopped. I just bought the subscription to gaana plus, thinking that I would get access to all the songs that were in my playlists. However, what I found was that about 70% of those songs are no longer available on gaana anymore. Initially, after subscription, they would not play, but showed up in my playlist. After restarting the app, they do not even show in the playlists. Not worth the money.

Yet another review update. App is as bad as ever. Ads play repeatedly while it still shows the song is playing. Keeps playing ads only. Playback gets stuck and the next song in the playlist just doesnt start playing. Crashed a couple of times in the background after just listening to 2-3 songs. So many things wrong with this app, there just isn't enough place to write them all down. Ended up dropping the subscription earlier due to issues. Tried using this again after a while but no go.

Update - downgrading to 2 stars. Just way too many ads. You can't throw in an ad or sometimes even multiple ads after EVERY song. I get it's free but this is just too much disruptive to whole experience. And recently, it stops playing songs after every once in a while. Original - Great app! Beautiful interface, good music collection and best of all it's FREE! Lyrics feature is also very cool.

This app wanted permission to check my location. Without that permission app doesn't work. Why? I don't like unnecessarily nosy apps. Uninstalled it. I gave the location info. Looks like they need it to push local ads. I am changing my rating to 3, because it works well. Ads are not much of a bother, so far. Not much kannada songs are available, which i want to listen to mostly. Hence the lower rating.

Purchased 1 year subscription and it's waste of money. It keeps asking to go online most of the times. Too many unnecessary features making it difficult to use the app. It takes time finding the right option in the settings. Keeps asking me to go online when driving! Crashes in Android Auto. This app needs simplification and make it fast. Why it takes so much time to load playlist when it is offline available!!!

This app has been nothing but trouble for a while now. I used gaana a lot while driving using Android Auto. However it has been full of issues for some time now. It keeps losing connection, abruptly stops playing music, does not auto-resume when Android auto connects, and worse of all - it crashes Android auto completely a lot of times when I try to skip tracks. I waited a while before lowering my rating in hopes that it will be fixed soon, but it hasn't.

This app is one of the worst to use while driving on android auto. You get one advertisement and the songs won't skip anymore. You'll have to stop the car, close the advertisement and then again start the music. Also, the app is wayy too cluttered and filled up with ads everywhere. I understand that it's a free version, but come on, have some decency.
