This app is pretty terrible. More than 80% of the time it doesn't even identify the song you're listening to, and it doesn't even work when you have the app open. Even well known artists/songs aren't indentified. The app is slow, buggy, and the recently listened to artists don't refresh sometimes, even when done manually. The only upside is that it has the largest and most diverse catalogue of music, making finding almost any artist/song possible.

Using Pixel 2 XL. Love that lyrics can pop up in your drop down notifications for easy and quick viewing. But why isn't there a way to easily get back to the home page without having to press back so many times, especially after looking at a lot of different song lyrics one after the other. Also, the listening function doesn't work at all, which is a bummer

I'll start by saying the content on the app is great. It has just about every song I've ever looked up (I use the app for lyrics only). But the content doesn't matter when the app doesn't work. It constantly crashes and/or freezes up. I have uninstalled and reinstalled this app countless times. It's infuriating. PLEASE fix this!!!

it's ok... when it works. freezes right when it opens about 70% of the time. also constantly pushing content I don't want and hiding the features I do want. if simple, easy search and recently viewed tracks/albums were the only thing on the home page it would be perfect. but they obviously don't care about ease of use, they just want to push all the other bs.

I'm more of a casual user but, overall, this platform does not disappoint. Easy to find songs and artists and lots of background information. I love this. My biggest gripe, though, is that sharing is a bit clunky. My suggestion is that the Share button for sharing annotations creates an image button with the lyrics (or as much of the bars that can fit in a reasonable square) that you can post to socials/messengers. Keep up the good work!

I got this app back in June and it worked fine on my phone. The app was fast, responsive, and loaded lyrics just fine. Now, the app freezes constantly and crashes way too much. I thought it was because of the phone I had, but other users with high end devices also have this problem. Whenever I want to play a song from the lyrics, it plays for about 10 seconds then crashes, so please fix it...

It was good at first, ive been using it for a while. Recently, in the saved songs menu, the songs that i have saved are being shown repetatively. I updated it, thinking it would make the problem stop, but it only made the problem worse. Some songs in my saved, they're just completely blank. It takes a lot of scrolling to get to the bottom, and some songs in particular are a lot more repetative than others. Please fix this, its really annoying, and makes finding lyrics so much harder

Constant crashes rendering the app useless the majority of the time I want to use it. The app often freezes while playing a song and even after closing the app it keeps playing and I need to force stop it. It is slow and unresponsive way too often to be useful anymore. It's faster to look up the genius website and view lyrics and meanings there.

Genius as a service is great. However, this app's services don't work. It can't consistently identify songs passively. Often times, notifications don't show up if the songs isn't very popular, and sometimes songs I've played don't even show up in the history of the app. The song identifier is slow and almost non-functional. The most infuriating part of the app is the search. It's so buggy that searching for a song's lyrics can lead to endless loading screens and eventual crashes. Only thing that saves this app from being useless is the clean design and accurate lyrics, along with the fan annotations.

The app itself is great... when it works. But searching for a song, results take around 15 seconds to load. Then, when I go into that song, it's just gray bars all over the screen for at least another 20 seconds, sometimes taking up to a minute or never loading at all. Lyrics that I have saved offline are just as bad with the load times, so I doubt it's an internet issue. I've been having these issues for a few months and have never found any fixes, even from a 5 year old post of the same issue.

Works great! Sometimes it doesn't identify certain songs off some albums but it usually identifies alot of the songs I listen to. Recently though, it has become EXTREMELY laggy, everytime I open the app when I click on the song notification, I have to not do anything for a solid 5 seconds so it doesn't freeze and if I don't, it lags extremely bad to where it becomes unusable. No idea if an update did it because it definitely isn't my phone lagging, but other than that, it's a fairly decent app

It's ok. Takes way too long for lyrics to get corrected. The correct lyrics for songs could be submitted years ago but they go with the person who has more "points" and they never change. Example look at "Murder Melody" some correct lyrics were even changed to incorrect because the person had more "points". Just go to AZlyrics

it feels like this app barely even functions anymore. I constantly get the "sorry, something went wrong" message and have to restart the app... if that even helps. there are several songs that now just no longer open at all no matter what I do. still 3 stars because it works well enough when it does actually work, I guess.

The app version of this app is solid for looking at lyrics. But annotating is a nightmare, if you accidentally post an unfinished annotation you can't delete it unless you pull up a web page. There also isn't a simple way to annotate a repeating line like a chorus so it shows up for the same repeated bars. Web browser is good, the app lacks

Great for viewing song lyrics but even though I granted the app permissions to access my gallery, I can't save custom lyric cards. I can save any lyric card that uses one of the preset images for an artist, but can't use my own image for a card. I was really looking forward to this feature, but am disappointed at how poorly it was implemented.

This app used to be solid and helpful. The problem is it is very off and on, some months and some years it works flawlessly identifying songs in seconds. Other times it can't identify anything, new or old. It will scan for a long time and then tell you it can't find it or hear it. Doesn't matter how loud or how much of the song is clear or how close the speaker is to the music it just DOES NOT WORK. Sorry to give it a bad review but also very much not sorry and feels justified.

Great app, I've been using to see the lyrics for my fav songs for years. But the one issue I've seemed to consistently have is that it won't always suggest me lyrics based on what I'm listening to most times. It used to give me the lyrics all the time as a notification but nowadays it doesn't anymore except for a few select times it did work, I'm unsure if this has to do with app or maybe it's my phone? But it's definitely a small issue I've faced.
