Excellent way to learn and improve! I started as a beginner as I knew how to solve in the past but had since forgotten. I picked up a Rubik's Connected and a GoCube to get back into cubing and have since relearned and gotten my time down to under a minute. I do wish the app would teach you other methods like CFOP or others as right now it only teaches LBL which is the easiest to pick up, but isn't really the fastest.

Love my GoCube and the app, but I hope to see it continue to grow. A feature to train a specific algorithm would be so awesome. For example, your stats show me I need to work on my OLL. I found some algorithms that would help me be prepared for more cases. Let me type in the algorithm (better yet, copy/paste) and then have the app help scramble me up some cases that will use it. That would be so awesome!

Appears that the app has been dumped by the makers. So much potential and they haven't done anything in 6 months now. But the app is at least smooth, and it helps learn basic algorithms. Orientation/drift causes loss of tracking sometimes. I'd really like to have more algorithms in the learning mode. It doesn't help much in assistance mode, it just shows what the next usable algorithm is in am image and video clip. The cube itself is great and spins/stops wonderfully on the magnets.

The cube and app are pretty good, the only thing missing for me is the ability to use the Solver part of it with white on the bottom which is the way I learned. Right now it forces the yellow on top which is backwards to my brain. I was hoping to use the Solver feature to learn some better algorithms but can't until white is allowed on the bottom :)

The app is very good for cubers of all levels. I wish it could be consistently in landscape and/or portrait mode. I like the stat keeping page and how the solves are broken down but it would be nice if the individual solve history could be sorted by different categories like tps, moves, time etc. unless I'm missing something somewhere. I can't comment too much on the tutorial mode since I have already learned how to solve a long while ago so I don't know how effective it is. I have completed it and it looks good though. I have not tried the other modes much because I'm more interested in improving as a speed solver so I focus more on the stat features. Otherwise a well rounded app. Not a huge fan of the GoCube as a speed cube because of its pillowed shape. There is a noticeable difference between my times on this compared to a normal speedcube (I use the WR M 2020). Because of that I do not use the cube and the app as much. However, I am really looking forward to getting my hands on the Rubik's Connected cube and using it with the app because of its traditional shape and in the hands of some pro cubers it looks like it moves pretty well and looks like a viable speedcube. Overall great product.

It's taken me nearly 40 yrs to try solving the cube on my own. Wife got me this as a gift and it had me solving in one day. Academy is awesome. It takes you step by step to a solved cube and even helps get back to where you need to be if you mess up and need to try again. Two things I'd like improved to get this app 5 stars. 1) ability to pause, slow down and rewind the videos. 2) cube orientation gets misaligned very easily and requires resync. App tries to prevent but room for improvement.

First of all, I love the go cube! My problems lay with the app. It kinda bothers me that we're waiting in queue to race bots. Tracking is slow, and needs to be recalibrated every few rounds. Also, a very large reason I got this was to help me learn more Advanced techniques, but there's only one tutorial, and it's not a fast one. Might change my review if those things change.

Great hardware, software needs lots work. -the stats/history option is very lacking. You give all this Phenomenal info when you finish. But you dont allow us to ever see those stats again. Giiker app has this ability. -when the app is off line the options are limited. no stats, no generated scrambles, the phone doesnt even register who the user is. no offline scrambles are a no no. -no sounds for the timer. - there are more things to be fixed, ill send an email with more improvements

Great software that works really well with the GoCube. The videos are super helpful. Directions can be a bit hard to understand at times but not because they aren't clear. I'm just not used to thinking "cube". Only real issues is the constant need to resynch cube to software. It's quick and easy to do, but has to be done soonest every few moves. Highly recommended for anyone ever wanting to learn the Rubik's Cube or if you just want to exercise your brain differently.GoCube is a definite winner

This app you use with a GoCube Smart Rubik's Cube. It is very simple to use. You can use it to time your solves, you can compete with others, and there are little minigames that you can do with your cube. It is very fun to play with, and very helpful, you can just bring your GoCube and you phone wherever you go, and you have a timer right there in this app. The 3D cube mapping stuff is also a really cool feature. The sensors aren't super accurate when you move the cube around fast...

I love this app and cube. The connectivity is solid and it is super responsive and does a great job keeping up with your turning. The academy is also a great resource for people new to cubing. My wife and 7 year old both learned the beginners method through it. The online matchmaking is good, but I have 2 cubes so it doesn't get much use as my challenges usually happen in person.

Only two issues: the big one is that quite frequently, maybe 1 in 25 times, the app gets out of sync with the cube and you'll solve but see the screen showing an unsolved cube because it's lost track. Second, the stats aggregation is bizarre and doesn't really answer the biggest question you probably have: is my time getting better or worse? OTOH, it knows, recognizes, and breaks down several solving algorithms unlike other smart cubes that only know the beginners' method.

Beginner Cuber here. Academy taught me the beginner method better than when I learned 10 years ago. Playing scramble to pick up speed and muscle memory. I get stuck at times finishing 2nd layer and then definitely the top but I'm making quick progress. The mini games are neat as well. I'm hoping for more solving methods to be added in the future as well. At first I had to constantly sync the cube over and over and then inwas asked to recalibrate and have had no issues since. The cube rocks!

I never leave reviews on apps, but I have to admit this is a really cool one. I always wanted to learn how to solve this, and now I can do it by myself thx to GoCube. reason for 1 less star: 1. accuracy can get messed up wit a lot of movement (problem for "kids"). 2. no "Keep screen on" option. having to change your settings to time yourself can get messy. or you'll loose time unlocking your device. I would like to give it 4.8 stars though.

The app is polished and connects seamlessly to my cube. 3D tracking issue seems resolved by resetting IMU. I wish I could open the app without needing to connect the cube. I understand that many of the activities in the app NEED the cube to be connected in order to work, but it would be nice to be able to open the app to see stats, be reminded of algorithms, etc without the need to connect the cube. The detailed stats are only visible at the time of solve. I'd like to see them any time I want.

It's not a huge deal because I've gotten to the point after a few days that I really don't need the visualizer, but it does need to be resynced after every run of two. I'd also like to see lessons added that teach more advanced solution methods. I've hit a cap of about 1 minute using the method taught by the app, and other solution guides online are far less clear than the way this app teaches.

The cube itself is a great desing. I like the modern sleek it has, and the turning quality is great, and it is magnetic. The app is really fun, and it is the first app that lets us join the WCA competitions from anywhere, and the online battles are great and well organized between levels of skill. I took the tutorial to check if it was good because I already knew how to solve the 3x3, and gotta say it is not that efficient, there are to many complicated algorithms, and that may confuse the newbi

So so much potential. I love the head to head games and the tutorial is very well thought out. The app needs to allow us to dig deeper into our stats. It would be good to review the scrambles and stats from our best times whenever, not just after the last solve. I want to be able to chart improvements and review the detailed stats on all the CFOP steps whenever, rather than just the once. The app gives us TPS and average solve time but i would love to see the details.

Really innovative concept executed well. The main function of the cube syncing with the app works well. I struggled learning with a regular cube and failed. I now average 2-3 minutes. PR 1:45 The tutorial is mostly good. Video navigation would go a long way though. I also like how you can play others online. The other games aren't helpful because they require untaught skills. As someone who can now reliably solve a cube, I'd love to see a CFOP tutorial. Like, I'd even pay for it.

For the most part, this cube works flawlessly. However, today I noticed a whopper. I was solving in solo mode and made a solve of about 30 seconds, however the timer showed 3.6 seconds. I did not break the world record. I am not the rightful holder of the number 2 slot. The current number 1 slot is a solve of 0.9 seconds. I've seen an arduindo robot solve that fast. I feel a statistics and leaderboard reset is needed. Hopefully this will be fixed in software updates...
