Heard Hank Green talk about this and decided to check it out. Cute game. Seems easy but it's deceptively complex, especially in classic mode. My only complaint is that the accessibility options are a bit buggy. Sometimes the music turns back on when I switch apps and the option to turn off the gubbins popping in doesn't work. If that's fixed, 5/5. Also, a dictionary function to look up words you played would be nice. Maybe a custom game mode where you enable/disable certain gubbins too?

I really love this game but it's frustrating you're limited 1 play every 12 hours. It's hard to begin to enjoy the game when you only get a single play. In order to continue to play, you have to pay 5 USD. I understand needing funding to continue the development of this game but why not occasional ads? It is really well animated. Nice sounds. Cute art. Satisfying taptic feedback.

I highly recommend this game and can't wait to see where it goes. A very chill puzzle game where you can flex your word knowledge while also strategically places word pieces down in order to maximize your score. There are a few issues I have with the game: some words not being accepted, some bugs with placing tiles down not working properly, and the replayability can be a tad low if you aren't doing the daily puzzles and have most Gubbins unlocked. Still, highly recommend to give this a shot!

Perfect balance of challenge and fun! I don't usually pay for phone games, but this one made me want to play more than just once a day, and it was worth the few bucks. I love the daily puzzles and the different modes you can play in. The way you can build shareable "postcards" to show words you managed to play is unique and fun. I also like that the game is quite quick to learn but has enough variation and depth that I'm still finding new things many rounds in.

Fantastic word game. It takes a few plays through to learn how to work the different modes and mechanics, but it's a lot of fun once you do. The limited play per day stinks, but 10% of revenues are donated to charity so i was happy to pay a little bit to unlock unlimited play. It's a quality game and it doesn't have awful ads, to boot. One issue- i turned off analytics accidentally and now i can't toggle it back on. I'm not even sure what that does. Perhaps dev can help?

Amazing game, I don't like to pay for mobile apps, but if I did, I'd get the full version. But 1 game a day is enough sometimes, despite how limiting it is. The game is just fun, it's made to make everything feel satisfying, and mistakes can be undone. Despite having to pay for some Gubbins, or play to unlock many, the game doesn't feel unfair at the start. Just try it, it's free, and you get a free game after the tutorial.

The game itself, great! Cute, fun, engaging. But I can't give 5 stars.. I've been SO excited waiting for this game to release only to be hugely disappointed at the cap of one free game daily. It was barely enough to get a feel for the game. And not everyone can justify spending $5 or more just for "infinite play". I wouldnt mind a limit on how many free games daily if there were more, like 3-5. Especially with 3 different games modes.. you can only choose one a day. Very disappointing

I really wanted to like this game, but I guess I'm not the target audience for this. After the tutorial I had a hard time with getting the placement of the tiles right and the fact that it took two fingers to rotate the tiles, wound up being too complicated with my fat fingers. I don't have an issue with the one game a day limit like others complained about. But if you want to make it stickier, give people the first few games to practice before you lock it down to 1/day.

It's hard to find good word puzzle games that aren't brain teasers. Games like Wordle and Baikoh do it well in my opinion, and this game stands tall with them, with cute visuals and easy to grasp mechanics. There's a few bugs here and there but it is newly released at the time of this review. The moveable S's won't place correctly sometimes and it can really mess up your word map if you are rushing. And big shout out to Hank Green for helping put this on the radar for puzzle lovers like me.

Found the game through hank green! The game has been an absolute blast and honestly the highlight of my day. I've had no problems with it, the art style is absolutely gorgeous, and the visuals are overall fun and refreshing. You can feel the love the creators had while making the game, it's a lot of fun and I really don't have anything to complain about. They're very generous with the 1 free game since I know a lot of games charge subscriptions so thank you

Fantastic word game. I've found three problems so far: 1) Sometimes letters seem to change randomly. I've run into a situation where I had a word set up and a lock gubbin appeared and the locked letters changed, and sometimes it seems like the letters in the deck change as well. 2) Stickers sometimes won't move properly, and will snap back to positions. 3) Sharing doesn't work on Android messages app. The first one I ever shared always pops up each time I try a new one. Great game otherwise!!!!

I like this game a lot, but have emailed a suggestion: add a setting so that movement on screen during gameplay, such as the pencil and trumpet tiles, can be stopped for people like me with ADHD, and others with disabilities that make such things a struggle. Overall, though, intuitive UI, helpful tutorial, fun and engaging gameplay. Hank sent me, and I'm glad he did. :D

A good simple and cozy puzzle game. The one free play a day which is a bit small but there are no ads! They give 10% of every purchase to charity, so buying the unlimited play version feels a bit easier. All in all, would recommend! The only thing I'm a bit confused by is what the achievements unlock. It says that I am unlocking things but I am not sure what those are except for the occasional gubbin.

I absolutely am addicted to this game and have been playing it nonstop over the past week or so! The UI is smooth and beautiful and the game is rapid pace with eye catching visuals and exciting surprises. It does require pay for unlimited access to all features, but the pricing is reasonable and one time only, unlike many other games which charge hefty subscription fees and make use of all but required micro transactions.

It's a fun idea. I'd call it a word game more than a word puzzle. More like solitaire scrabble than a crossword or wordle. There are a few bugs. For one thing no matter how many times I turn off haptics it's always back on next time I open the app. Also as others have said I find it far too easy to accidentally place a tile wrong, especially when rotating. I also wish free play was one play of each mode instead of one play total as it's hard to try the different modes, but I see why it's limited

Has its moments. Biggest complaint: inconsistent dictionary with no way to check in advance. It didn't recognize "enervates" as a word, so I lost a high score. Also, the animated characters and sounds are so annoying. App quality is off the charts. A beautiful game that plays well, even if I wouldn't play it every day. Fun concept, though imo hiding tiles is a mistake - I'd rather work towards a board with a place for a weird KH tile than be surprised by it mid-game, but that's just my opinion.

As a "1 play a day" this game is great, not addictive. HOWEVER I just played a game using a "duplicate row" power up, and it duplicated the same word "wrenching" in row 1 and row 2. but when I was scoring it glitched and did accept the row 2 version of the word even though it was spelled the exact same way. lost out on 700 points and would have gone over 10k points! I've never had a glitch like that before (hence 4 stars)

The recent update is a total mess. I really liked this game despite minimal gameplay guidance so I got the paid version. But, as others have said, scoring is confusing + the dictionary is really inconsistent. Then the updates 🙄 A postcard (unclear what the point is) that you have to opt out of each time you finish a puzzle + a premium ($5) set of gubbins, half of which don't work and just mess up the puzzle board.

This is an amazing word game that takes a simple concept and turns it into a much more puzzling and creative experience. The Gubbins add a layer of strategy unlike anything I've ever seen, and it helps hold retention and replayability very well. All Gubbins make the game as fun and dynamic as it could be-- both good and bad ones. The postcard making is a subtle enjoyment, and is a nice finishing touch for when I can only play once a day.

It's a pretty fun game, stylistically interesting, the helpful and harmful gubbins make each game different and challenging. But the lexicon is bonkers. It doesn't recognize "tremorous" as a word, but allows floating suffixes, like "ous". There is no clear indicator of what are legal plays. Some proper names, like Dave, work. Numerous times I've tried putting ed onto a word to make it past tense, it works about 60% of the time. I would love to give this a better rating, but it's so frustrating!!
