I don't usually pay for apps or give reviews but this app is AWESOME! The level of accuracy in timing on each comment being at just the right time for us to see what they were talking about. Fun, educational & really insightful information. I ended up getting the whole US West package as it's inspired us to do more roadtrips & explore with our GuideAlong partners riding shotgun! Seriously, get it - you won't regret it!

Great find! A friend recommended for our trip through the Canadian Rockies. We enjoyed having narration to learn all about the sights we were seeing and insights into the best pull-off spots for quick hikes and vistas. Appreciated that it downloaded to phone for low/no service areas and that it was automatic based on location. My only knocks would be I wish it kept track of the ones you've already heard and I wish there was an option to turn off the navigational/direction oriented prompts.

We love the Kauai guide! On day 1, we changed our plans and let Jeff lead the way! Yes, we named the voice! Jeff took us to a beach we wouldn't have found otherwise and had very precise details on things like etiquette and parking. Besides those details, we also learned so much about history, culture, and geography. My kids loved listening as much as we did. We rarely used Maps or Spotify because Jeff's instructions, suggestions, and storytelling were amazing. Thank you!

This app is awesome! It's like having a personal guide in your back seat. He gives great tips on things to see that you may otherwise pass up. He gives information on a lot of the stops, provides science lessons, and history. I highly recommend. It worked great through our blue tooth car audio.

This app is great not only for the information but for directions as well. We did Yellowsone/Grand Teton and Galcier NPs and there is very little reception. It not only helped us decide where to stop but also which way to go. We also enjoyed the recommendations for where to stop since Going-to-the-sun-road has so many lookouts and places to stop. We go to Yosemite annually but will be getting the guide the next time we go for new tips!

Highly recommend! This added a whole new level to our experience. We recently made a trip to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. Because I live within 5 hours drive of these parks we have been there many times. But this app was wonderful, I stopped at places I didn't even know about, and learned a ton more about the history of the parks! This app is amazing

Not really knowing exactly what to expect, we purchased GuideAlong tours for Glacier and Yellowstone. We followed the directions to download prior to arriving and easily connected the audio tours to our rental vehicle. On both tours, the tour information provided was GREAT and provided lots of history, insight into great spots to stop along the way, and additional info was provided on the return trip. Learned a great deal about both areas. Would highly recommend!!!

We used this to explore the Drumheller and Canadian Rockies areas. We had done a great job identifying what we wanted to see in advance, so the tips this app provided were not helpful. However, the history and stats were wonderful. We love to learn about the places we visit. We highly recommend this app. That said, we do have suggestions for improvements: 1) add field guides - it would be nice to have links to some common flora & fauna - season-based info would be awesome 2) ...

Awesome! We did Arches and Canyonlands and this made the beautiful landscapes that much more engaging. Learned a ton, not just about the parks and history, but also the town of Moab and some colorful characters as well. I'm looking forward to using again on more road trips, highly recommend. My only complaint is there aren't tours for all the National Parks - I want more, lol (hopefully that's the plan). 😉

we (my family) LOVE it! have recommended it to strangers on stops and now have them hooked to. wish we had an option for more in depth information for some things (this could be a totally different tour than the ones already given) but as a group of nerds and lovers of knowledge we wished we could hear more about some of the people places and things. definitely good for families with kids of all ages. happy adventuring!

We love this app. We started using it several years ago. At that time this app was known as Gypsy Guide. I bought 5 tours and love them all. The app recognizes your location and starts the narration. It tells you where to stop, what to see, suggests the best and less crowded hikes, gives you tips on how to save time and even money. It also provides suggestions on the restaurant and lodging options. I have learned a lot of interesting facts from this guide. A tip: it's better to buy bundled tours

Used them for the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. The commentary was perfect! It felt like we got some insider tips and checked out places we wouldn't have known existed otherwise. It worked off your GPS and started like a real tour guide, even when service was non existent in the parks. Will be reccomended to anyone I know going to a national park that's covered! It even had an update for Yellowstone mentioning a thermal explosion a week and a half before our visit.

We recently returned from a trip to the Western USA where we had audio tours that included: The Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, Deadwood, Beartooth Pass, Yellowstone National Park, and Glacier National Park. These audio tours absolutely made our entire trip!! They were jam packed with information that was presented in an entertaining way. The kids loved them too! We appreciated the narrator also included several options of optional stops along the way. We will be purchasing more!

We used this tour for our three-day trip through the Tetons and Yellowstone. Our guide become a constant and welcome companion, jumping in frequently with history, trivia, driving directions, and places to see. At no point did I regret going to see some point of interest that Talkin' John steered is toward. It doesn't work on trails, only on roadways, but that's fine - it's a driving tour. At the end of our journey I was actually a little sad to say goodbye to our guide. Amazing app.

Fantastic! I thoroughly enjoyed my trip down the Natchez Trace Scenic Parkway using this app. The narrator covered a lot of info and recommended side trips I would have overlooked. The narration is very interesting, and not intrusive or overwhelming. In fact, when he said goodbye after the trip, I was a little sad. LOL Looking forward to my next road trip with GuideAlong!

The app burns through battery fast, but works pretty well. It plays short audio clips regularly, with silence in between. It pauses & resumes my podcast app nicely to play its clips, but not my music app. My main complaint is the content: the two tours I've done of national parks barely talk about nature. It brings up ghosts at every opportunity and strongly implies that national parks are bad by endlessly emphasizing the use of eminent domain in park creation.

Tours purchased not showing up on work phone. I paid for tours with my personal phone (Android) and they show up as they ought to. I downloaded the app on my work phone as well (iPhone) in case I lose signal. I'm signed in to the same account on both, but the purchased tours aren't appearing on my work phone. Not going to pay for the same thing twice. Fix your app.

Love the app, 100% best purchase and takes the stress off planning the must see sites. The only thing I wish the app had was a big map of the tours. Example I bought the west tour package. I'd like to plan a trip west and hit as many guides as I can but not sure where each one starts so I have to toggle between them all to see which one I would hit first , 2nd and 3rd for an example in the state of Utah. And is the Rockies on my way to Utah, etc or would it be too far out of my way

We bought the Grand Teton and Yellowstone tour. The app worked perfectly and really enhanced our experience in the parks. We nicknamed the guide "Jeff" because he sounds a little like Jeff Bridges. Jeff was a great help; there were several times he convinced us to take a few minutes to go see something that we hadn't originally planned to that turned out to be well worth it. It played well with Spotify by pausing/unpausing our music as needed. Make sure you download the tour before entering.

No other way to travel!! This was the best money I spent on this vacation. We started in south dakota from there to Yellowstone, down to the Tetons and ended with Moab. I bought the west bundle tour and could not be happier! It truly was like having a tour guide in the back seat with us. We definitely learned something with every tour and would have missed so much without it. I hope to see more tours added and will definitely plan our next trip based on what tours are included.
