Just won't work. Every time I try to launch it, the splash screen comes up and then I'm looking at my home screen. Try to app switch to it, back to my home screen. Been holding out to see if it gets better with an update but either no update ever came or it's just completely broken and no one cares to fix it. That leaves me using the web site which is painful to use while traveling for work. The app needs to get better.

Useless app. At the very least it should be able to open my current reservation and future reservations without a confirmation number. It should have clickable, up-to-date phone numbers for the location I rented from and any emergency assistance numbers. A nice to have would be a chat feature for when the rental location isn't available and a number to get assistance with Hertz. Just tried to book a car with points. App was completely useless to do something as basic and simple as this.

Horrible. Any time I try to set up a rental it only tries to use my location and won't let me search the area I am going to travel too. Unfortunately, that doesn't even work and it says "we are experiencing service issues, please try again later". Been doing this for months.... I verified I have the latest update and my location is enabled. App just won't work to schedule a reservation. This has forced mes to go to the desk and wait hours to get a vehicle instead of going dtrait to a car..

I've had the app installed for several months, over at least 2 "bug fix" updates, but I can't even log in via the app. I always get an error message, "We are experiencing service issues. Please try again later." This is not correct because I can log in via a browser. The app is broken and not maintained; they should just remove it from the play store rather than frustrate their customers this much.

Still can't reserve on the app. I forgot and reinstalled it. Three years and same problem. It is no longer possible to reserve cars on this app. The Reserve button is always disabled. I have to restart it several times and then it 'might' work. Very frustrating. The app used to work but not anymore. And yes I have clicked the terms of service box.

Absolutely horrible. 1) Half the time it gives a "something went wrong, try again later" message. 2) App does not retain your pickup time. If you change the dropoff time, it changes the pickup time to noon. So when you show up, you get to deal with the absolutely ridiculously incompetent Hertz office people instead of the generally decent Gold service. 3) It also logs you out after about 2 minutes of inactivity, so you are having to log in every few minutes if you are exploring your options.

Terrible app. Extremely frustrating experience to use. All my other apps for car rental, hotels, flights will keep you logged in, but this one will not. It constantly lags or resets. Also, booking with Hertz points is not possible on the app. It has a spot where you can get linked to a web page to book with points. Right now I'm working on trying to update payment info and the app is a huge hassle trying to even change that. Edit: Tried using again and it just makes me mad. Infuriating.

After getting the email saying "download out app!", I did because it sounded super convenient. Well, it wasn't. It straight up doesn't work. Can't login to account via email, only member ID. Who actually has this memorized? Once in, couldn't find my reservation. All the app says is "Oops, something went wrong". I can get to my reservation just fine via an actual computer.

Updated Apr 2021 Every hour it is sending a notification to get insurance... And I already have picked up the car... what a miserable app! Terrible App. Can't see current reservations. Insufferable to reserve a car. Constantly logs out. No choice because I have status and don't want to switch. Take a cue from hotel, airline apps in development. Website not much better. Cars, good. Car selection, good. Site representatives, good.

Recently when I try to use the app. It says the location can't offer me any cars... no matter location or time. However if I don't use the app, cars are available. This has happened on and off over the years. Mediocre... I guess I'll add a line this week since once again I wasn't able to book from the app... and I'll keep going. Man being in the president's circle really makes you feel special

Bait & Switch pricing. It shows you one price then when you go to check out, the price has increased because of taxes. In the past your "Est Total" was the same as your "Final Total" taxes included. Also the app always has bugs which is frustrating. Not being able to search locations by Zip Code instead of the city is annoying because there are a bunch of cities with the same names in different states & countries. Also having to log-in every single time you use the app is even more annoying.

Just not a good app compared to their competitors. I travel for business weekly and decided to give Hertz a try due to them now offering EV's. It just hasn't been a great experience and the app pretty much sums it up. Can't get a copy of your receipt from the app, even though the option is there. Have to enter a confirmation number for everything. If ease of travel, flexibility, and needing receipts for expenses is important to you, there are better options out there, use National.

Goes on website -"try our app, it's super easy." Goes to app to check-in - "you are unable to check-in." Tries to call customer service "try our app or website, you don't need to call us, you can check-in on the app or website. It's SUPER easy!!" 🤡 🤡 🤡 I was able to check in on the website. Your app is pretty useless guys. Also, if you're app is going to be crumby, then maybe you could have better customer service without long wait times. Terrible user experience

The app is one of the worst apps I've ever seen. Nothing works. Not a single thing. Completely worthless. But it is actually BETTER than their website. How can a website be that bad?! Can't find reservations with their confirmation number. Can't edit, can't do anything. The rentals are good, but they will NEVER answer their lost & found number, kiss your stuff goodbye. This is a terribly poorly run company.

Has never been able to find my rental to extend it. Actually has never been able to find any of my numerous rentals to even view. I can book, sure, but that's it. Once I rent the car, it's gone forever on the app and the website. I'm told by location staff that this is typical and I should always just call the branch during business hours which is not usually a timely option.

Terrible app. Says I can't create an account because my drivers license number is already linked to an account. I've never used Hertz in my life. Called customer service, they did to use a fake drivers license number. I was able to make the account. Now I can't change the drivers license number from my account. And I keep getting an error message when I try to view the cars that are available. Absolute trash.

🤦🏾♀️ Update 6/6/24. I love Hertz, but still frustrating. Seriously! We are in Q2 of 2022 and this app is still extremely glitchy and hit or miss. To frustrate the customer before they can even make a reservation is not good. This is a sign of what is taking place internally with the company. You can tell when an organization is moving from serving customers to serving B2B/Corporations/Large Contracts/Fleets to increase profits. Oh well, let's see how Avis is moving in the market.

This is a terrible app. I'm sitting on a plane using the app to check my reservation. It's not appearing my trip list. I try looking it up by name and conf. number. The app just swirls and swirls, sometimes telling me 'something went wrong". After repeating the whole process around 10 times, it finally shows the rez, but with minimal info. As I approach landing, it's supposed to tell me what stall my car is in. Not holding my breath.

Oh boy, where to begin. I suppose I'll get the good out of the way. When it does work, it's a great 5th choice to make/modify/cancel a reservation. It would be 6th but calling their phone robot holds that spot. This app has a decent user interface, too bad that whenever you click on ANY button it's almost like the app takes a nap. Connection issues run rampant and even when it can connect, somehow that doesn't make it better. Just use the website, it's marginally better.

If I could give negative stars, I would. The check in process is impossible. Once I get to verifying the driver's license, I'm just given a spinner that is also partially off the top of the screen and never goes away. There's no way to proceed with the check in. I waited in this screen for over 10 minutes so there's is definitely something wrong with the mobile app itself - not timing out from lack of or broken service response or the app breaking on the correct response. Test it! Fix it!
