This app is EXTREMELY buggy!!! I am no longer able to search by maps because it gives me an error message and says something went wrong with the app itself. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it and I'm still encountering problems. If this app would work well, it would be great to be able to use it, as it looks like there's a lot of good camping sites on it.

The idea is amazing. The app needs some work. The dates I plug in do not hold thru when I'm looking at a camp. I was researching places in an area and had to keep putting in the dates. The maps also need more coding. The 48 hour booking policy makes it hard to travel and stay at places along the way. I ended up at a hotel after leaving a Hipcamp early. The place was not as described and I couldn't book another place right away.

Hip-Camp is great, the app not so much. I love this service but the discrepancy between iPhones and android is unacceptable. Sitting with my GF trying to look up sites, we both use the same location, but results are different. The pics and names are different too making it a PITA to try and talk about spots we see. Even double checked to make sure our filters were set the same. If you and your other are on the same OS you're fine, otherwise huddle up to one phone and look.

I've enjoyed using the app so far. It's connected me not just to great camping but to really special and artful places managed by amazing folks that I'm thankful to have had the opportunity to meet. I love that the app encompasses everything from bare bones camping to glamping so you can decide what level of experience you're looking for and it's got it all.

I've been using this app exclusively for 2 camping seasons now. Overall, I'm highly satisfied with this service. I've met some awesome hosts, and found some cool camping spots. Obviously, I've found some dud spots too, but nothing miserable or misrepresented. One suggestion I would make is the addition of a phone service map. I camp alone. I need my phone for entertainment and emergencies. It would be nice to not contact every single host to ask about phone coverage.

Love this app, but its SO slow. Everytime you click a site to check it out then go back it scrolls you all the way to the top which is pretty annoying when you've been looking for awhile. So if you can spare the time its great for finding campsites. But like I said, super super slow. The website wouldn't load any pictures either. So app or website, they both got issues.

This app is great. Literally the AirBnb of camping spots. We've already got 2 trips planned through it and are planning many more. If I had to give criticism, it would be that 1: uploading a profile picture doesn't seem to work on the web, and you can't do it in the app. 2: I wish hipcamp links sent to me on my phone would automatically open the app instead of my mobile browser

I tried this app out for a few days and was generally disappointed. It's pretty much an Airbnb wannabe, but way more difficult to navigate. Unbelievable there's nothing in the filters to narrow the area you're interested in. Plug in a town and next thing you know you're looking at locations a hundred miles away. Using the map feature was even more frustrating. Needs some work.

This app is an amazing concept but it has alot of bugs when viewing listings. Let's say your looking at listing #15, if you press the back button it doesn't take you back to listing 16, 17, or 18. No, it restarts it all the way back at 1 and you have to scroll back through it all. Same with pictures, if your looking at picture 7/50, if it freezes and you press the back button, you have to start back at picture 1. There's no picking up where you left off, also the app can be slow and laggy.

I love everything about Hipcamp except that you can not "share" from the app. You have to log on through the website to be able to send sites to friends. We have found some great places to stay and love all the filter abilities as well as instant booking for those impulsive planning moments! I also appreciate that the fees are not nearly as ridiculous as some other sites and hope they stay that way!!

I like to know where I'm staying. The pictures are pretty but doesn't generally show any of the actual camping area, but instead general activity pics. Also the maps are misleading too. One shows the area near Stockton CA when in fact the camp was in California City in the Mojave Desert. I understand not giving the address but at least give a accurate map location. I was looking for a cooler area not the desert. I think the descriptions are often misleading. This could be an awesome app!

This app is incredible. With all the overcrowding in camp sites now it's such a pain. I'm able to go on here put in a general area that I want to camp and find amazing, private, beautiful and affordable places. If you really want a nature experience and not a tourist experience.(although they have some of those too) Hipcamp has your back. I've been using Hipcamp for about a year and I've never incurred any issues.

Great app for finding beautiful camping, glamping, and rustic lodging sites in nature. Similar to Air BnB - appreciate all the reviews and clear and easy booking. Occasionally, there's a glitch in loading a site to reserve and adjusting dates. I can usually address that by exiting and reloading the app, which is a little annoying, but effective. Besides that, it's a great app that's really enhanced our camping and nature experiences.

I really like the setup of this app. How to search properties, filters, ect. This android version keeps crashing on me though. It just freezers and I have to back out and go back in frequently or completely close and go back in. I thought maybe it was my phone but I recently got a new phone and same issue. Hopefully they work on updating the app to preform better.

Could be much better. There's no "sort by distance" option so I'm getting campgrounds 150 miles from our destination. The other issue is that you have to log out and log back in when you change destinations otherwise you're getting any campgrounds including campgrounds where I live regardless what I search for. I searched Westerly, RI and received campgrounds for West Hampton, NY and the Catskills all in the same search lol.

The app is slow and laggy. It gets confused easily, and I often have to close and reopen and re-enter all the info. It will show me the name of one but the pics and info of another and then just freeze. Often, it takes hours to get through a search. Sometimes I give up and get a hotel cause I can't deal with it. I really want this to work. Get a better app designer. This review, much like your app, won't load either.

This is a great way to find unique camping experiences. And a neat way to foster camping for those of us who don't have the means or time to invest in a ton of camping gear. There are a few things the would really make the app experience better. Including a small map on each camp profile, so you know approximately where it is located before you click into it. Too much time mapping the location to see if it is a feasible option. And more detailed list of what camping items are already onsite

I have been using the app for less than a year. I love that there is no cookie cutter requirement for the host sites. They have all been true to their promotions and then some. They have each been unique experiences, which is what an authentic experience should be. I would take this over a national camping chain or hotel any time!

Love the concept of this app and have booked once so far. App is very finicky though it's tough to find sites that you were just looking at on the map and there's no way to filter by distance based on where you're trying to go. Sometimes the photos don't match and pull from a past visit or another site. I just found 4 sites and favorited them but none are showing on the map! Would be great if pictures of the actual camping area were required for the listing - not clear where you will actually be

This app is rather slow and laggy but my biggest issue is they want me to give them my precise location for absolutely no reason, having my approximate location should be just fine for looking up nearby campsites but with approximate location turned on it's searching for campgrounds about 2000 miles away. On top of that I'm not even trying to camp nearby so it really doesn't need my location at all, I'm just trying to use the app to find campsites to go to during road trips.
