There is no way to make to app connect to my camera. When I first opened it, my Canon 6D Mark II was already listed, and I can see no way to make it access the camera and do anything. Additionally, there's no documentation. It lists Google Drive and YouTube as connected services, but there's no option to use them.

This new Canon cloud app is a MAJOR step backward from the Canon Image Gateway app it replaces. Same goes for the website that it interfaces with. You can no longer just share an album link. The app must now send an email message for a group of photos and it can't be texted. In addition, a maximum of only twenty photos can be viewed using the emaiI link. I hope Canon is paying attention to app ratings because there is also no way to provide feedback or get help for the app or website. KrAPPy.

The worse change that Canon could have issued. With the previous app I was able to easily send photos to the cloud. Now I keep having the camera tell me to set date and time. Despite doing this on numerous occasions the changes have not taken and this has left me unable to save to the cloud. Please return to previous app. I would even give 1 star but it won't let me photo otherwise.

Really awful. The worst app, do not get it, CANON has end of lifed the great IMAGE GATEWAY replaced it with a flawed app that is not fit for purpose. Who thought this was a good idea, auto transfer to flicker and Google fail 100% of the time. Great camera, absolutely abysmal software across the board. Wanted to give minus 5 stars rating, but can't. 30/07/20 - version 2.3 does not even allow me to log in. To add insult to injury they ended support for 19 EOS Cameras so can't use anyway. What the?

My canon sx700hs keeps telling me to set time and date when I try and set it up to the new service, it's already set so I don't know how to or if I can get round this issue, I've lost patience with it for today! Although not essential to me the canon image gateway was useful and I did use it so if I can't get the new one to work it will be a bit annoying.

Terrible. It says it's downloading pictures from camera but doesn't say to where. Can't find them. You have to have a subscription to Google Photos to use that after 30 days. Ridiculous. And Canon Connect o longer works. It says can't find the target. Too bad Canon can't create a good app to move pictures from camera to smartphone.

Canon broke my M3 I was perfectly happy with the Image Gateway and used it to transfer photos over WiFi to Google drive. This app and service is supposed to replace that function but it's not compatible with the M3 so now my camera's WiFi is largely worthless for making backups. They didn't even send me an email about the discontinued service.

I don't know why many of you are complaining. I had no issues whatsoever in connecting and transferring images. It was an instant transfer even with the RAW files. 😒 I wish it was free to transfer directly to your Google Photos, but it seems like you need Google One. I'll probably try with university account later. The app and it's browser interface both are simple to use. ☺ Hope letting an IoT device would not jeopardize my router's security. 🙄

UPDATE: The app now supports raw files shot with my camera. It now works without access to phone contacts. All looks good. I have updated the rating. WAS: Why this app cannot run without having access to all my contacts? Unacceptable and feels like a beta version. First they said all cameras can upload raw images (CR2 format), now they say raw cannot be sent from a lot of cameras. Disappointing.

Excellent service from Canon for image sharing and for backups to the cloud in real time. It's absolutely free, you can store 10GB for 30 days. Setup is a bit complicated, however, once done functionality is fantastic! Images can be sent directly from camera (as you shoot) to your phone, your home PC, your Google Drive, your Flickr or your Canon cloud storage. RAW and JPEG is supported. Cloud backup works for video just the same or for publishing on YouTube right after you finished recording!

The app seems to be malfunctioning.. unable to transfer photos to cloud. I get the error message that I cannot select any more photos... Although I am not trying to do that I'm trying to simply add them to a cloud.

Agree that new App is a problem, Tried many times to sign in on mobile but always Failed to Log in comes up. Also reinstalled app many times. It will link to my old PC? What was wrong with the Gateway, easy set up on both. Typical large corporate trying to fix a problem which wasn't there, probably to force a purchase of a new system.I had only just bought my PowershotXS which is a great camera, but purchase was swayed by the easy transfer of images!

To prevent my Canon Cloud uploaded images from being deleted as an inactive Account to sign in then upload new photos to the Canon Cloud. An email notification purportedly from Canon warned a 30 day deadline before existing stored photos would be deleted. However, the Canon Image user login page gives a web 403 Error Permission Denied. I get the same error browsing to the Canon Image login page. Long time Canon Customer for printers, cameras, and supplies.

I have to reconnect and register my camera every time. It'll be easier to just use the SD card in my desktop at this point, but now I'm frustrated because when the app does work it's very convenient, but these issues override any convenience.

While I like the cloud service Canon offers, this app only does the bare minimum. Some smoother navigation options would make it actually useful as temporary storage. Now you need to first move it somewhere else, which is a hassle if the service isn't available (eg. Flickr is, but Dropbox isn't). "Send to app" does the trick, but .mp4 is an "unsupported format" (while that's the format Canon cameras use). "Download" would work, if only you could specify a download folder...

Very bare bones app. Immediate issues on first use: - App only allows one limited level of zoom into images, pinch-to-zoom any further than this and the zoom level snaps back when you remove your fingers - App only works in portrait mode, quite a big oversight for a photo application, meaning landscape photos don't display across the full screen - No options for number of thumbnails shown, my 8" tablet only shows six images at once, this seems to be set for a small phone screen - Doesn't seem to be any way to select multiple photos at the same time, e.g. for deleting, emailing or sending to other services. Action has to be done for each photo, one at a time. - The app seems to have access to my Gmail address book, I guess I must have granted permission for this when signing into the app with my Google account but I would like an easy way to revoke this choice.

This app so outdated & not very user friendly. The interface is basic but needs to be updated to the 21st century. It looks like I'm using a program from the early 90's on a PC or Mac. I really wish you put more thought into it. Make it user friendly. From the hardware perspective, it's also needs a lot of work. I'm able to connect, but it's such a turn off that I usually end up removing the SD card & manually transfer the images. Canon, you can do better than this. First rate camera & 3rd app.

Can't send raw files? Makes this completely worthless. Update the firmware on all those cameras you say are compatible but really aren't. It wold take an hour of selecting every fkn photo to send to the service after taking 100+ photos. A SELECT ALL feature is missing. Anywho, I was super excited to see the 6D was included, but this app sucks because you can't send raw. I only shoot Raw, I only use jpg after editing. So dumb.

Confusing connections. Easier to set everything up on a PC or at minimum a tablet as there are so many options. Yet the actual selection of services is extremely limited. No OneDrive, no Dropbox, No Box, No Apple. There are many cloud providers out there so why so few of the big ones represented - my Canon scanner supports them so why not my camera?

My camera shows up as a device but it won't connect to my phone or to anything. The devices are not really communicating. It keeps trying to transfer 899 images...of what?....to...where? with no option to select images. This is impossible, time wise, and would kill my battery fast. . I had to cancel the whole operation repeatedly. I really don't understand what is going on here. No transition whatsoever from the old process to the new. This really really sucks.
