irplus WAVE - Infrared Remote

More About irplus WAVE - Infrared Remote

This is a spin-off of the original irplus app for integrated IR-blasters to be compatible with any phone if you use a self-made IR-blaster for the audio port.
Please note:

- This app is only for a self-built blaster. Guide to build it: https://irplus-remote.github.io/?start=audio

- If your phone/tablet has an integrated IR blaster use the original irplus application. (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.binarymode.android.irplus)

Warning: Use this app only if you know what you're doing, incorrect wiring of the self-made blaster can damage your device!

If you have any problem or question about the app or about the building of the IR-blaster feel free to contact me via E-Mail ;-)

Thanks!

I tried it with my Samsung phone but it didn't work. So I don't know if my phone is not compatible

Simply does 𝗡𝗢𝗧 work. Bought USB-C I.R. Blaster for a Note 8. It works with other apps, not this one.

My phone doesn't even have an IR blaster🙄.....edit, apologies I'll take that back and give it 5 stars for u calling me out in a nice way 🙂 kindness goes a long way.

Works perfectly with 3.5mm IR. Manual recommend me zaza remote however zaza doesn't work. This app is perfect life saver, otherwise i would throw the 3.5mm ir blaster in thrash. Thank you developers!

So for all you one star folks . Do this app and the people that put all the work and time into it justice double check that your ir transistor (bulbs) are correct it took me 3rd time before I got it correct works perfect since so don't blame the app till your 110 percent sure it's not your error.

Works really well, I have a better question, is it possible to make the mic port of the headphone jack into a sensor for learning remote function or that feature is very limited/non existent in terms of hardware?

Amazing app! Easy to use and it actually works unlike some of the universal remote apps *cough* *cough* zaza. Very impressed but could you add the option to add remote codes because I made a decoder for my remote and I'm wondering if I can put it into the app??

My Denon AVR-1611 amp was found in the list, but sadly, it does not control my amp. I found an alternative remote but this only allows Power/On/Off and Volume/Up/Down/Mute. Also, I should note that I am running SailfishOS on a Sony Xperia 10II with Android compatibility layer. I would also like to add; the IR blaster jack is just a generic jobby bought from eBay a few years back, I'm utterly surprised that it does actually work. It would be nice if the correct remote would operate my amp.

EXCELLENT APP & PROGRAMMING, It worked as soon as I hooked up a IR(LED)bulb from an old remote control to a stripped headphone jack into my audio jack, the beam isn't very strong though, may be because the bulb is tiny compared to a regular remote control bulb. Will try a larger LED later. or the voltage going to my headphone jack isn't high enough. I used IR Remote Tester by Wonder Tech Studio to check any IR remote or IR blaster, got it off the Google Play Store. 👍👍👍Thanks !!!

Only program I found that uses an IR LED in the mic jack. IR is being sent, but no control yet. You can see it with a digital camera. Two features I would like is for the timer to activate a macro and the ability to learn codes from remotes.

Absolutely great remote app!! Probably the best and only one that works reliably. One great feature would be to be able to adjust the carrier frequency down to as low as 28.8Khz this would be useful for testing lasertag equipment that uses that type of frequency. :-) :-)

I can confirm that this APP works with the LG V40 Thinq Sprint Edition (2018). Now I need to find either a better IR LED or a stronger voltage source for the IR dongle... The LED is very dim, but works through the headphone jack... I'm not aure if there is a way to increase the maximum volume of Android 9.0, but I can confirm that this APP works on my phone.

Ive tested both ir plus wave and Zaza app and they both work perfectly. As 4 Zaza u have 2 configure it well enough b4 it works. But i prefer this becoz of the interface is much better only that it has a few codes as compared to Zaza which has even some third-party user codes. Also the philips codes is not working in this. Tested it doesn't even make the beap sound and i think it is a bug during coding. Even the diagram when i press a button under the philips code seems to differ in the end code

I use WAVE for remote power control projects requiring absolute reliability. There are few competing apps for blasters that let me use my phone's audio port for IR. WAVE is better than the rest. Terrific, well-designed software. The developer knows his stuff. With built-in IR blasters getting scarcer every year, the audio-jack option is a godsend. Minimal advertising. Short and clear instructions. It would be a terrific deal even if weren't free. The easiest 5 stars I've ever given. Worth 7.
