Love that the basic version is ad free while still providing everything I was looking for: the 9 week schedule, timers and voice prompts to tell me when to warm up/walk/run/cool down, and compatibility with Spotify. I was able to use it with my own music playlist, as the voice prompts only briefly lowered the music volume. I purchased premium to express appreciation for the work that went into it. Started my running journey on Jan 1 and happily completed the program today on Feb 29!

I haven't run since 2013 and this made me feel comfortable starting again. It's simple and concise. I don't have to overthink every run, I can just start my day and it gets right into. The voice is fine and is much than a standalone beep. I like this app a lot and recommend it to any beginners. I recognize it doesn't address other aspects that make up running like shoes, form, breathing, and etc. But it helps guide your time which is a huge part of running. The extra stuff, you need to researc

A rare find on mobile, an app that just does what it says on the label and does it well. Doesn't annoy you with ads, or bully you to rate it, or try to trick you into trying to enable a "premium feature" so it can have an excuse to give you a sales pitch. If it weren't for a handful of devs like this one making apps that they themselves would want to use, I wouldn't bother with a smartphone at all.

This app has all the basics you need for 5k and 10k training without a lot of extra fluff, and the developer continues to improve it with updates. The voice prompts work with other media playing on your device, so not an issue if you want to play music while running. The "premium" version costs $2.99 one time and gives you access to some minor cosmetic upgrades, but all of the functional features of the app are available for free.

I just finished week 1 l. I'm not normally an app reviewer, but I am impressed. I am using the free version. It has voice prompts and vibrates. It's compatible with Amazon music so I can listen to music and it cuts in. The first week was run 1 min walk 1.5 min with 5 min warm up and cool down. Each week it gradually adjusts. Really thinking this can keep me on track and improve my cardio health. Definitely consider giving it a go if you want to gradually build up your fitness.

Amazingly easy way to become a runner! I just finished my last workout, and I am flabbergasted how easy I went from only being able to run for 2 minutes straight to just completing a 5K! The workouts were hard, but nothing I couldn't do. The logic build was manageable and challenging. Now I can run over 3 Mi with ease! The app was simple and easy to use , and make sure you use the screen lock while you're running so you don't miss the cues from the give of your your choice. On to 10K!

I love how simple this is! I'm on week 4 of 9 into training for an upcoming 5K. Pros: will still play in the background if music is on or if phone is off, gives a great visual of the running/walking intervals, calls out when you run, walk, warmup, and cool down, calls out the halfway point, can tap on any workout and don't have to do them in succession. The only update I would love to see is if they called out the runs- such as that you're on run 2 of 5.

I have loved this app. The free to use is well more than enough, however, I opted to pay the small fee for the additional features. They were totally worth it for the small charge. I like to listen to podcasts while running, so I don't always keep track of how long/far I have run or walked in some segments. Having the voice tell me when to change, and when I'm halfway through was great.

This app was exactly what I was looking for. Simple, easy to use, and a great tool for beginners. I absolutely hate running and have been intimidated by it for a long time. This app has helped me to learn how to run more effectively and to pace myself. The voice over feature works great, it pauses my music briefly and then picks right back up where it left off. If I'm listening to an audiobook it pauses and then goes back a few seconds so you don't miss anything. Thanks for a great app!

This app is super easy to use and isn't bombarded with ads or unnecessary permissions like several other apps I tried first. Super clean interface and dead simple. I went ahead and upgraded to premium, a completely optional thing, but I just wanted to support the developer. Highly recommend this app for anyone wanting to get into running.

A great app. I used it for my return to running program after an injury. The pacing was nice and steady. It pushes a little harder than some running apps, but generally found it matched my needs, especially with the tip to run gently on the first long interval. This app contains no unnecessary adds. The premium features are a nice addition, but not essential to being able to use the app. The app does not contain excessive adds, and the program is not pay walled. Great app 10/10

Nine weeks ago I couldn't run (even slowly shambling) for many minutes straight. I did every session but one, and had to walk out of sequence a few times early on, but today was Week Nine Day Three and I "ran" for the entire 30 minutes plus a bit. I'm slow, so that wasn't enough to hit five kilometers. I walked a bit extra at the end, and hit 5k in 43 minutes. I was not convinced the training plan would work, and some of the jumps up in time seemed... ambitious. But it worked!

After the other app that helps you go from a couch potato to running a 5k started charging I found this one. This one is excellent! Simple, easy to use, no unnecessary frills. I went from zero to running a 33:56 5k in a little over 2 months. No small feat for a 48 year old who never really took care of his body properly. Sure, I could have done it without the help of an app but the app indirectly held me accountable and that's what I needed. Now I'm addicted to running!

I love an app that does exactly what is needed and intended. It took me longer than 9 weeks to complete, as I repeated some weeks until I felt like I wasn't struggling. At almost 60 years old, I'm running a strong 5K. The interface, font, voices, and function create a solid, truly useful app. Paid the nominal fee for premium for a few extra bells and whistles, but mostly I like to pay for things that work and that I use. Psyched to start 10K program. Thanks!

100/5 stars. I was terrified when I found out I had to finish three sub 35-minute 5ks for my black belt test (which is hilarious in retrospect) until I downloaded this app. Before I started, I couldn't run for more than 30 seconds without a break. Now, I can run for 30 minutes at a consistent speed. The app is easy to understand and free of charge (although I recommend supporting the creator), not to mention I would still be stuck worrying if I didn't download it. I can't recommend enough!

Remember the days when apps were simple and didn't require a subscription. When they didn't give you a few free runs and then force you to pay. This app is that. No fancy coach or GPS connection. Full functionality for free and a couple cool features if you want to pay the low one time premium fee. I pay it just to donate to this awesome developer.

64 and running again. Every time I started running it was just painful so I never kept at it. This pace allows you to start slowly and build gradually with no ads. I've repeated several weeks as my goal isn't just to finish this, but to build the habit and identity as a runner again, especially as I head into retirement years when so many men just sit on the couch. Highly recommend this app to get you moving.

I've used c25k before and thought I'd give this a shot. at least once per run the app fails to announce when to go from running to walking, so you're thinking "geez this is a long 3 minutes of running" then when it announces "start running" as you're already running you realize it's been 8 minutes not 3, and now you missed your walk. I thought maybe it was a fluke due to my audiobook app running at the same time but it did it even when I had no other audio that could interfere. super annoying.

I used to use another app and after a time, it was changed and the developer put anything past the third week behind a paywall. I went looking for something else and tried others before finding this one. Just Run is simple and the fact the entire workout is free is incredible. I've been so happy that I decided to get the premium version just to support them. There are two things I would suggest for future updates: 1- a distance tracker, and 2- a run counter (you're on run 3 of 6, etc..)

It's a really simple app, and that's exactly what I'm looking for! If you want an app that tracks splits, has maps, has detailed breakdowns, etc. there are other apps that already do that. But if you want an app that helps you set a simple running plan, does it without bloated features, and does it without bugs, this is the app for you. I'm pretty cheap and rarely pay for apps, but I happily paid for this one.
