More About Kahoot! Algebra by DragonBox

Kahoot! Algebra by DragonBox - The game that secretly teaches algebra
Kahoot! Algebra by DragonBox, an app inluded in a Kahoot!+ Family subscription, is perfect for giving young learners a head start in math and algebra. Children as young as five can begin to grasp basic processes involved in solving linear equations in an easy and fun way, without even realizing that they are learning. The game is intuitive, engaging and fun, allowing anyone to learn the basics of algebra at their own pace.

**REQUIRES A SUBSCRIPTION**
Access to the content and functionality of this app requires a subscription to Kahoot!+ Family. The subscription starts with a 7-day free trial and can be cancelled at any time before the end of the trial.

The Kahoot!+ Family subscription gives your family access to premium Kahoot! features and several award-winning learning apps for children to explore math and learn to read.

HOW THE GAME WORKS
Kahoot! Algebra by DragonBox covers the following algebraic concepts:
* Addition
* Division
* Multiplication

Recommended for age five and up, Kahoot! Algebra by DragonBox gives young learners the opportunity to get familiar with the basics of equation solving.

Kahoot! Algebra by DragonBox uses a novel pedagogical method based on discovery and experimentation. Players learn how to solve equations in a playful and colorful game environment where they are encouraged to experiment and use creative skills. By manipulating cards and trying to isolate the DragonBox on one side of the game board, the player gradually learns the operations required to isolate X on one side of an equation. Little by little, the cards are replaced with numbers and variables, revealing the addition, division and multiplication operators the player has been learning throughout the game.

Playing does not require any supervision, although parents can assist children in transferring acquired skills into solving equations on paper. It is a great game for parents to play with their kids and can also give them an opportunity to freshen up their own math skills.

DragonBox was developed by former math teacher Jean-Baptiste Huynh and has been recognized as an outstanding example of game-based learning. As a result, DragonBox games have formed the basis of an extensive research project by the Center For Game Science at the University of Washington.

FEATURES
* 10 progressive chapters (5 learning, 5 training)
* 200 puzzles
* Learn to solve equations involving addition, subtraction, division and multiplication
* Dedicated graphics and music for each chapter

Charging big money for a 10 year old game.

Claiming things are free then demanding money is not the mentality one wants driving their educational sources.

Don't list an app as free in the store when there is no free play option.

Not possible to try the app without purchasing a plan.

I am not happy. My child was not impressed by the app and they forced 1 Yr subscription on me which I haven't realised until the payment has left my account. Wouldn't recommend.

I'm really confused as to what this has to do with algebra. Is there something that can explain this please? My daughter wanted to work out equations with actual numbers like the one on the icon picture for the app.

I find it offensive that the creators of this app won't let you see or try anything until such times you sign up for a monthly or a one-time machine. If they are unwilling to show their app before purchase, there's a reason for it.

This used to be a GREAT app you paid for once. Now greed has taken it over and they demand a subscription sending them money continually. Stay away from greedy companies.

The app was great when i bought it, now I can't seem to reinstall and use it. Not worth the hassle of contacting anyone. Will find something else.

For some reason you have to purchase this game within the free app. I made this in app purchase and got the game, but now it is asking me to buy it again in the app and I can't access it. Why is the game an in app purchase within itself? It's a shame because the previous dragon box stuff was pretty good.

I'd like to try this app but there's no way I'm getting forced into a subscription and to pay $26.99!! to purchase the app is ridiculous. I think Kahoots put the decimal in the wrong place. I'd buy it if it were $2.69...GFY!

I have incredibly fond memories of using this app when I was a kid along with my brother to have fun learning algebra; I'm now in my undergrad for Mechanical Engineering. It makes me so deeply sad to hear that this app is now paid. I loved DragonBox because I thought it was doing the work we needed of being a FREE experience available to ALL people so that kids could learn great math. Shame on you Kahoot. I will no longer be engaging with your services. Also the name is worse now, great job.

EW! My son loved prodigy so this looked close. I installed it but the ONLY screen you even get is a screen telling you give them your payment information. No, not going to give you my payment information even for a trial if I have no idea what this is. No thanks. Uninstalled it right away, bad business plan. I'll find something else less sketchy.

I love the app and I would've given it 5 stars but I downloaded this app on 2 different devices; even though I was logged into both devices, my children's progress wasn't saved so all of the levels my son passed on his brother's tablet didn't show and he had to start all the way from the beginning when I downloaded the app on his device. He's really sad about that and may not want to play any longer. There should be a way that the progress saved so that any device you log in from will be there.

I actually love our big box numbers app & was looking to purchase some others. But after being forced into a subscription just to try the apps & then not being able to access any of the apps in the subscription due to some kind of glitch I can't fix & not able to reset password due to yet another glitch. I am out the 16 dollars I could have spent buying an app & have wasted a ton of time I don't have trying to access my paid subscription. So I am now super annoyed & hate the whole bloody thing

This and the other apps are FUBAR on the Google Pixel 6 and 7- the payment page and the registration page is screwed up because the ap prevents proper auto rotation to use/find the buttons (and the size is gigantic but no ability to shrink it), the registration process isn't working correctly, and payments don't process. *** Update - I contacted via email and never had a response, but apparently the payment DID process as a charge just tried to run again for an app we never could use.
