More About Kardia

Kardia works with the FDA-cleared KardiaMobile, KardiaMobile 6L, or KardiaBand personal EKG devices, which can detect the most common arrhythmias in just 30 seconds. The Kardia app is designed to make managing heart care from home easier than ever, giving you the ability to seamlessly record EKGs, share heart data with your doctor remotely, keep track of your health history, and more.
Capture a medical-grade EKG with your Kardia device anytime, anywhere—no patches, wires, or gels required. Get an immediate result from Kardia's Instant Analysis of normal, possible atrial fibrillation, bradycardia, or tachycardia. For additional analysis, you can choose to send the recording to your physician or to one of our partners for a Clinician Review by a cardiologist (US, Australia only) or cardiac care physiologist (UK, Ireland only).

The Kardia system is recommended by leading cardiologists and used by people around the world for accurate EKG recordings. Track your heart health data from home with the medical accuracy your doctor can trust.

NOTE: This app requires KardiaMobile, KardiaMobile 6L, or KardiaBand hardware to record an EKG. Get your Kardia device now at alivecor.com.

Have had this for several years. Have been thru several SW upgrades. Sometimes it is twitchy but most times is right on. Very happy with the device and software. Good to show the cardiologist after an episode. Would buy again if I didn't have it. It appears that whenever the software is updated, it get real twitchy and becomes unusable. I contact support and get the same script: replace the battery, download the latest version and then, buy a new device at our special discount. Then, it's fixed.

I like the device I bought, and what it does, but I'm very peeved that this app refuses to operate the device without running Google's location services. In addition to the privacy concerns, and the fact that it is so badly wrong that it incurs notifications for locations I've never been to, location services will overheat a phone, drain its battery, or worse if it ever finds itself in an area with insufficient tracking data points, so I keep it OFF at all times. Except now, apparently, when I'm taking an EKG, in which case I have to turn it back on, take the measurement, and then turn it back off. Pretty sure Kardia didn't have to do this.

The user interface is awful. Most functions are oriented to the annual premium subscription service. Having purchased the device, there should be at least one free report for EKGs. In addition there is no way to check the connection/reconnect to the device without logging out, which causes the accumulated data to disappear. There is a warning to this effect. Simple device, but deficient app.

I subscribed, and the first time I used it after subscribing it sent a normal scan off for review without my input to do so, wasting one of the scans. The second time I sent a scan with an issue and the review was to a completely different scan. I said I will be canceling in an email. They canceled for me and kept my subscription money though it was only a few days past. Do NOT subscribe. They will rip you off.

Up until this point, I never had any issues with the app. As of this past weekend, when you touch either the "add blood pressure" or "add new entry," the screen just quick flashes and doesn't allow that page to enter. Being in IT, I presume this is a bug that will be fixed on the next update, but for the time being it's a major inconvenience. Reached out to customer support via email and they were absolutely bland. Given the stereotypical: "restart your phone, force close the app," response.

(Must read) Really great device, the app is not so good it needs improvement! The device itself rocks! however the app makes you go through three different screens to get a measurement. 3 different screens when you are checking your regular heartbeat is too many possibly very dangerous if you are checking to see if you having real heart issues and should be calling an ambulance. Why can't there just be one button to push so you could check your heart rate, or at least make it an option?

I had one for years. A couple of months ago I started having a lot of dysrhythmias and began using it frequently. It was fantastic my dr was able to see what was going on since we could never catch it on EKG. But suddenly it would not stay paired with my phone I went through all the troubleshooting with customer service and decided I just needed to replace it. It started out working fine but in less than a week I have the same problem if it wasn't for this I give it five stars

Fantastic app and device. When I feel something is not right with my heart I turn on the app and take my EKG and it instantly informs me of my situation. Love it!! I'm revisiting my original review due to the app not working after the last update. I've been using the app since 2018 and have had no problems. The app now allows me to take a EKG and the a overlay screen appears and says LOADING wi a swerling arrow and locks up. You must close the app and re-open it to continue. Very disappointed

I used Kardia a handful of times a year or so ago and it worked fine. Recently I updated the app and couldn't get a signal. I replaced the battery in the device, reinstalled the app, ensured that the app had access to the microphone and every other sensor, including bluetooth. Still, no signal. Out of comical frustration, I placed the Kardia device directly on top of my phone, placed my fingers on the pads and it worked. Maybe this will help someone else with the no signal issue.

Just updated automatically 4 hours ago. Blood pressure measurement history is easily accessible, but adding new entries is less convenient since I had to look for it and go to a separate screen. I liked previously having all entries accessible upon opening the app. I understand having a medication database for validation purposes, but also tracking supplements would be a nice. I'll have to continue using a spreadsheet to track everything in one place.

I've been using this device and app since 2015. In the previous versions, scans could be marked as favorite with a yellow star directly from the list of scans in the history (Health Diary). Now scans can only be 'starred" if you click on the scan and open it. This isnt too bad, but you also have to open it to even determin if it was marked as a favorite where before the yellow star appeared along with time, heart rate, and classification (normal, tachacardic, atrial fib, unclassified, etc).

Great hardware, great idea but there are problems. First, they can't seem to decide whether to be a hardware company or a subscription one so they are constantly trying to upsell you the subscription service. Please stop that. Second they did have a nice feature that allows you to record other metrics such as bp and weight that were free, but they "upgraded” the software and now the app crashes when you try to use them. I am now recommending to people they just get an apple watch.

I have owned kardia almost since inception. I am dropping 2 stars becuase of the 'updated' app. Now if you move your fingers slightly, it will just stop recording, delete what was recorded, and make you push several buttons to record again. When having a cardiac event, you aren't going to sit perfectly still, you may be trying to stay conceince, and the event may be short. There was no reason to change this, you used to have a few seconds for the device to pick the back up the signal again.

Mostly useless for me. Most results are unreadable. I upgraded ($10 per month) because the software kept telling me I'd have fewer unreadable results. It's a bit better now, but still more unreadable results than readable. The unreadability is not caused by me or interference because I can get readable results in the same location, position, etc., where I'm getting unreadable results. I believe the software can't make sense of my erratic heart rhythm and simply defaults to unreadable.

This seems good at verifying fibrillation (though, in my experience, when it's bad you know it's happening anyway). On the downside, some of its diagnostic results are hidden behind a premium subscription which the initial cost of the device does not cover, it frequently advertises upgrades, and some of its data export functions are also subscription-only. You can get around that by just showing your phone to your doctor or exporting individual reports as PDFs, but it's a pain.

Update: I like the update. No more Price is Right scrolling. Thank you! This app was a lot better when I could manually type in my blood pressure rather than have to scroll through the numbers. I don't like having to play Price is Right just to be able to input my numbers. Sure I can type them in, but if I hit ok instead of done, then it goes back to 120/80. Very frustrating.

The core function itself is fantastic - does a great job of interpreting ECG data and the device itself is impressive. The app as a whole is rough. Notifications often don't fire unless the app is open (which defeats the purpose), data entry can be clumsy due to UI & layout issues. Still a valuable app, but not great for health tracking.

I deleted my previous five star so I can write this one with all the updates have been made. I was recommending this to everyone but now I'm not so sure. There have been multiple pricing updates for the monthly service that I have just ignored and paid but to wake up during a heart event and start the app and find an ad and a streak calendar while I'm trying to record an EKG. This isn't duolingo! I don't care if I miss a day. I sure as hell don't want to see an ad while I'm having an event!

Annoying to have to hit 3 buttons before doing the #1 purpose of a quick test. Then confirm it's me every single time. Can't believe there is no fast widget to do exactly what is needed. Allow screenshots. Export better. Export into excel. Stop asking anything. Let us decide the main opening page as test or history. App is meh. Could be a lot better.

If I could give it a zero I would. It fails to connect 95% of the time! I have the 6L. When you do need it, it won't work. Not able to connect the Omron evolv monitor either which I purchase specifically because it was supposed to be compatible with the app. More frustrating than it's worth. 2024 update: FYI, nothing got resolved previously. Heart issues started up again in 2024 and do you think I can get the dang thing to work when it's needed? Fat nope. As far as I'm concerned it's garbage.
