Good and accessible, only lacking on how to control the notifications. It would be great if you could chose to get notifications every time a new article comes out in specific categories.

Excellent coverage of news from inside and outside Quebec. Refreshing alternative to English Canadian press / American press. I would like to see this news APP add a copy / paste feature for paragraphs. This would enable me to use a dictionary or translator APP to improve my reading skills, my knowledge of French and my vocabulary.

All my saved articles disappeared after the new version rolled in. Also can't choose which alert categories to get like "international" or "politics". I don't care about getting alerted that the coach of a hockey team had a salary raise. Can't ignore categories, so you have to constantly scroll through categories you might not be interested like politics, sports, etc Doesn't have dark mode, which is burning your eyes in low light, even with minimum brightness

The new layout is such a downgrade from the previous user-friendly interface. Can't easily find the articles that I might be interested in reading. Truly makes me less inclined to read the news on the app. A real thumbs down from this ex regular reader.

The bip sound to every new news drives me nuts . I cannot remove the bip without removing the phone ring. That is the reason I am leaving the application Very unfortunate that sound accompanis every news. I hope La Presse app could be available with out continuous bip notice.

The new interface priorities looks over functionality. Really disappointing to see Lapresse heading in this direction. I switched over to the Radio-Canada app which allows to see more than 2 headlines on the screen at a time.

New layout defeats the purpose of being able to zip through the titles to pinpoint an article of interest. Now you have to scroll through endless pics and ads. Lapresse was my go to app until now... what a shame we can't chose to go back to the previous UI.

La Presse is a great resource for current local and international news, with some excellent reporting.

The app constantly crashes. Reading articles is difficult because ads keep appearing out of nowhere and make me lose track of what I was reading. I like the content though. So I uninstalled the app and read from the web version. Less bugs and ad annoyances.

I appreciate having the opportunity to read arguably the best French newspaper in Canada for free. As an anglophone, I find the language tends to be clear and concise, which makes it easier for me to comprehend. Unlike most English papers, the journalists seem unbiased outside of clearly labeled opinion columns. The app works well for me and is similar to the paid NYT one.

Always pertinent, high quality no "filling"texts.

I like to get my news in both official languages. La Presse has excellent columnists who provide diverse perspectives on local, regional. National and international issues.

Recent update significantly worsened the app. No longer able to copy sections of text, which was helpful for sharing quotes and/or translating parts that I had difficulty understanding (still in the process of learning french). Multiple taps/swipes required to do things (like opening articles!) that only required one before. Seems like fewer headlines fit on the screen now as well, so it takes more scrolling to find those of interest.

I am a native English speaker, but I also speak some French. I wanted to subscribe electronically to a good French-language newspaper of record, but I notice that when I select text for the odd word I don't understand in the La Presse Android app, I am only given the option to 'Copy'. When I do the same for German words I don't understand e.g. in the New Zürcher Zeitung app, I see the full range of Android text selection actions, including Translate. Can this be fixed?

Works well enough but maybe take some inspiration from RT's site where the scrolling of news capsules headings is easier because they are shorter and therefore more fit onto a single phone screen. In other words you can see many more "titles" of articles on your phone screen in RT's app than in La Presse's. It makes it easier to quickly select what news stories you want to click on to then expand to get the full story.

the new presentation is awfull. On my phone, i use to be able to see 6 news titles at a glance per page, now you see only 1 or 2 depending on image size( and the text is harder to read, embeded in the pictures) and you have to scroll, and scroll and scroll yet again. There's no clear regroupement by categories. not paying for this kind of presentation

Although I wasn't sure I liked the new design, I got used to it and I love the app overall. The one big reason why I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it would get THAT much better if we could select which categories can pop up notifications. I could not care less about sport news and it pisses me off to be disturbed because a CH player is exchanged, for example.

Overall, good experience, but long standing issues aren't fixed. The main being how the adds load as you scroll down an article. I have nothing against the adds themselves, it's important for lapresse to survive. But when I read an article, very often, I'll be gently scrolling down then all of a sudden, an add will load in the middle of my screen, making me loose track of where I was. It's not accessible design.

LaPresse, for me, is the gold standard for a news app. Both technically and content wise. Everything in the app is how it should be. If the developer adds any more features, it would just be ice on the cake after this point.
