The secret path to language learning
Remember the Arabic language classes in school? You started with hundreds of basic words and expressions, continued with tons of Arabic grammar lessons and at the end of a full semester’s language course you could barely translate a sentence or say “Hello!” to a foreigner. That’s the traditional way to learn a language.
Mondly has a different approach, that’s opposite to the average language course.

This is how the future of language courses looks like
The App gets you started with a basic conversation between two people. You quickly start memorizing core words, use them to build sentences and phrases, and at the end of a 45-minutes module you are able to reconstruct that conversation with your own voice. It’s an effective way to learn Arabic phrases. State-of-the-art Natural Speech Recognition and Spaced Repetition Algorithms make the app effective for learning languages.

Here are the key features that make Mondly a great tutor for you:

Crystal-clear audio and professional voice actors. Learn the right Arabic pronunciation from conversations between native speakers.

State-of-the-art Speech Recognition. Mondly knows exactly how to listen to your Arabic words and phrases. You will only get a positive feedback if you speak Arabic clearly and correctly. This will improve your pronunciation.

Useful phrases for real situations. Memorizing hundreds of isolated words is not the way to go when it comes to learning Arabic. Mondly teaches you Arabic vocabulary by offering you core words and phrases. The app breaks the learning process down into short lessons and puts them into themed packs.

Learn conversational Arabic. Conversation is the main reason to take this free course. It will help you build a core Arabic vocabulary with widely-used nouns and verbs, and speak Arabic clearly.

Verb conjugations. If you want to learn more during this course, just tap the Arabic verbs and get the full conjugation on the screen, including the translation. It’s faster and better than a dictionary.

Advanced Statistics. The App uses intelligent reporting, so you can always follow your progress. Build your vocabulary step by step and become better daily.

The Leaderboard. See how your friends are doing and compete with people from all over the world to become the best learner in the Mondly community family. Take the Weekly Quiz to become even better.

Adaptive Learning. Learning Arabic is different from person to person. So we taught the app to learn from your way of learning. After little time spent together, Mondly will understand what suits you best and it will become your own guide and customized teacher.

Before you know it, at the end of these Arabic lessons, you will master the most useful 5000 words and phrases and you will be on the fast lane to learning a new language.

I recently wanted to try the premium service and I came to see an option where I could try the first 7 days for free and then if I wish to continue I could continue with the payment. And when I actually tried to do it, the total amount for an year just got debited from me. I would like to get a refund as I didn't agree to pay for the entire year before the trial.

I like this app a lot and I'm using it daily but I think the basis for learning a language should be revision not necessarily new vocab (I have just started learning Arabic so I don't need words like 'astronaut' in my 3rd). Not all words introduced are the given exercises to practice. Not all new verbs have sentences introduced. There's only an option to revise but perhaps instead of daily lessons you should have daily revisions. And then the user can learn new vocab through lessons as they are.

I tried this app to learn arabic and although I am just starting, I found a few mistakes in the first lessons. This does not give me any confidence in continuing with this app. For example, they used the masculine form of 'this' to say 'this is my mom'. They then used the correct feminine form of 'this' for 'this is my aunt', but mispronounced it. I canceled my free trial.

Bought the free trial and canceled before the week was even over. This outdated, elementary method won't teach you anything more than basic vocabulary words by painful, rote memorization. When will developers learn that this is not how people learn languages in the real world? The app itself is actually well-designed – aside from the cheap stock photos — but the material is totally lacking, some of the final lessons available incluce counting to ten! 🤦‍♂️

It's a good app. My daughter likes learning from it. That's why I bought the premium subscription. The Chat feature is also interesting. Time will tell how good the app is at helping her to retain what she is taught in the app. My daughter is 7 years. I don't appreciate all these lessons about having a boyfriend/girlfriends, holding hands and kissing. Not appropriate for kids and so I cannot leave her unsupervised because I am not comfortable about what the future lessons will be.about. And if these lessons keep coming frequently I will have to uninstall the app. I don't believe these topics need to be among the first things that are taught when learning a language. I will increase my rating if you remove these inappropriate lessons or put in a feature to let us choose lessons depending on age etc.

I enjoy using the app a few mins each day and very gradually learning useful language. the speaker is extremely clear and easy to understand. I have no desire to learn written Arabic and struggled to find a programme which was purely spoken with the words transliterated into Roman letters. The paid for version allows you to learn faster if you want.

Not impressed. Daily lessons are too short. Free program is very limited. Chatbot is unable to recognize phrases spoken perfectly. It says there's background noise when there isn't, asks me to speak more slowly when I'm already speaking slowly. You can't skip the phrase and carry on the conversation you're stuck until the bot recognizes a phrase. I don't have this problem with other language apps like Duolingo or Hello Chinese. Doesn't compete well with the best language apps on the market.

Just started checking it out. Seems somewhat unrefined. Arabic text should be larger, because the diacritics (tashkil) can be difficult to tell apart. Some word conjugation (underline) popups don't actually show the said word, or at least not the inflection used in the specific sentence. No clear learning path, including the unclear main "categories" page. Tenses popup UI too condensed vertically (and I'm for high-density UIs!). Moving between screens is lagged; not a showstopper, but clunky.

Been doing french, despite telling the app I'm already intermediate level all lessons are beginner things and they're all pretty inaccurate. It's teaching much longer sentences and giving the wrong translation. (Eg "where is the toilet" is a pretty simple sentence but they're teaching you to say "where may I find some toilets" which is completely different to the actual question. It's different words entirely and a different meaning which means you won't be learning words accurately)

It is a good app. I learned words, phrases and verbs with conjugation quickly. It encourages you to study a few minutes dayly by taking weekly and monthly tests. I didn't learn the alphabet though. The latest update annoyed me, they took away the extra points for reviewing the learned previous lessons in the leaderboard. I can only earn ONE for ea! That's not fair. I already was in level 21 and was the first one in my country's leaderboard. I erased Mondly! ....but I think I'll install it again.

Best app for learning Arabic that I've tried. Allows you to switch between Arabic and English script and can click on verbs to check their conjugations while doing exercises. Also allows clear sections so that you practice on specific areas that you want to work on. Really really great for being able to practice and focus on what's most relevant to you !! Highly recommend.

I paid for premium so I don't have any annoying ads so I can't comment on that. As for the app it is very nice, I'm learning much faster than on duolingo, since the exercises are much more challenging. I prefer that as i avoid repeating the same basic sentences as a beginner. However I use duolingo to learn basics and to complement the fast pace of mondly. The voice recognition is actually good and picks up where I don't get it right.

Edit - I've been using the app for a while now and still find it very useful. However, one of the women's voices is so difficult to understand. I find that I'm failing one of my monthly quizzes repeatedly as I simply cannot make out her voice! It seems the recording itself is very 'robotty' and distorted. She also speaks way too fast for a beginner to understand. Please fix this so you can go back to five stars. Thank you so much. Best app I've used yet and I've used a lot! £9.99 a month may seem a lot but you get so much content and everything is broken down to fine details which I've found so helpful.

In depth and interesting, I like how it doesn't baby step you and teaches you quickly to find the participles for each scenario, natural and intuitive, keep it coming!!!!

this app is not beginner friendly, feels like I've been thrown in the deep end. am i missing something? full sentences are taught before the alphabet. key words are not clickable (underlined) to learn what they mean. it feels like a lot of guess work.

I'm personally very happy with this app. Mish mash of Babel meets Rosetta Stone but with a well built modern mobile UI (user interface). May not be perfect for everyone but was certainly an excellent fit for me. I love the feature that allows you to toggle between arabic writing and English enunciation, as I couldn't yet read Arabic when I first started. Well worth the price in my opinion. Would highly recommend, at least for a beginner!

I just started using the app. Nice experience so far. I do have an issue with the app crashing when I tap and hold the microphone icon in lesson 2. I duplicated the crash 2 more times. I reported the issue. great visual association with words. option to go from Latin alphabet transliteration to the Arabic script. I wish there was more voweling and then later the ability to turn voweling off and on. thank you for the work and nice App ^.^

it was good at first I thought it was going to be as good as Duolingo, the pictures were great , the grammar explanations were good but then i realized i needed a "subscription" to acess all of it. I will not pay money for an app. if it were free i would definitely use it. also please tell me there's a way to turn off the leaderboards. i don't like competitivity on an language learning app. until the this app is free, im not using it. at least place more ads to make money. i wouldn't mind ads.
