As someone else already identified, there is no information abot artpieces, only a year and name of the author. Additionally, the pictures cannot be oriented to best fit the screen, and so they are too small on a phone. I believe that the enjoyement of art comes from deep impressions supplemented by artists' life stories, and reducing it to tiny flashcards is barbarous. It might nevertheless be a usefull learning aid.

nice, easy and simple way to learn about art. very easy to navigate, not overly complicated.

I had to pay to use but said "cancel anytime via Google Play Store". I cancelled, no refund, Google will not refund and told me to reach out to developers. I did with no response.

the best way to kill time, that also enriches you. I kinda know art, but this is a huge boost for my familiarity.

I do like this app but I also hate to say that I don't think the art included is nearly enough. What I mean by this is that I do believe it would have been way better to teach art from the very beginning (ex. Ancient Egypt) and from there escalate it to the Renaissance. I really like every thing else though, I do recommend this app for a few basics (people don't forget where we all come from!!)

it's okay the only problem is after finishing a quiz I get blocked by an ad after then I meet straight into the buy area section whatever it was but for most uses it's okay for me it teaches me about art

Overpriced and pretty useless. This app won't help to learn much about the art history. Is just collection of quizzes on the quite limited selection of paintings. You have opportunity to see all pictures before taking any quiz and you will see their authors, titles, year of being painted and museum where their are currently located. No description of painting, no any information about painter themselves. No even short and basic characteristic of the style/ movement.

I like swiping through the pictures, the app does a good job at exposing me to different art works. But it doesn't help you learn at all? All you do is memorize the names and then answer a multiple choice quiz. At first I didn't even realize what I was suppose to do, i clicked "start" and it just threw me into a quiz. I exited the quiz and then realized I had to memorize everything first.

The app contains plenty of paintings to look at, but very little is provided to actually learn. Most paintings seem to lack even a basic description, the viewer simply being presented with the name and artist. The categories carry no descriptions, leaving the user oblivious to what is actually meant by them. The tests are multiple choice offerings of different authors and names. A revamp would be required to appropriately call this a learning app, at the moment it's just flash cards.

I changed my rating from 5 stars to 3 when i realized that every entry is copy and pasted from Wikipedia. While the app is useful, the information isn't original. Further, there is no attribution to wiki or the original author. So this is a copy and paste algorithm more than an actual program curated by people knowledgable about art.

The new version really improved the experience of browsing through the app, lots of paintings with their relevant information makes it really easy to learn from it.

Nice art selection, but I wish they told more about why this particular piece or this artist has become notable. Was it their use of light, of the material, the style, etc. I'd like to know more about the painting itself rather than just the history of the painting.

Wonderful to have some bits of information on different art works and artists to develop and grow my knowledge of the arts. The information is just enough to adapt and learn without being too overwhelming. And if I need more information or depth on what I read I can always research it further.

This isn't an app to learn about art, but to memorize artist names/art piece pairings. It has no further info about the pieces beyond title/date/artist, nor links to any sites for more detail; in some cases doesn't even include a date(!). It's pretty, but you can't get a landscape view. Cool that it includes Russian artists Americans don't often learn about. To be fair by taking the tests first, I did come to recognize some Russianart Significant video ads (but not while looking at the art).

An excellent way to learn art. However, zooming into pictures works very poorly, and usually makes the picture you're zooming only take up half the screen, while the next picture in its original size takes up the other half, until you zoom out again and "fix" it. This is very annoying and hopefully will be fixed.

I have premium and enjoy doing short daily lessons. Great way to pass a little time on the phone and learn the name, year, medium, and artist of various artwork. Sorted by theme and broken down into memory exercises, this is the most accessible digital collection of famous art I have been able to find. Also, there are two levels of zoom on all the high res art, great for really digging into the details of this wide collection. More thought provoking than click-bait!

Nice to see lists of artworks with key data, but there is zero clarity on what I am supposed to be doing as a lesson. Right now, I am randomly tapping at things to browse through pictures. The app failed to give ANY instructions about what my goal is. Bottom line: lots of information here to view, but no guidance or gameplay or testing/exercises to achieve any learning objectives. Bewildering initial user experience. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO???

This app shows and explains paintings throughout history. super educational and beautiful. without it I for sure wouldn't be exposed to these works of art. it also gives you a little insight to the artists and the stories behind the paintings. I'm glad I tripped over this app and super Super greatful that I downloaded it!!! Thanks to the creator, or creators. excellent idea!!!
