Love all the courses , really these courses improved the way I play and though I am not a professional chess player , I can give these to my niece who are young and let them start practicing the most wonderful game 😀

Difficult UI design. Lessons were fine but menu and navigation and where to even start were not clear.

Doesn't teach you anything about chess. Just provides some animated arrows. Doesn't explain the reason for the moves. Also, the app is only a taster and to get all the lessons you need to purchase.

Pretty good testing to see where ones playing level is at. Not buying yet since I think I am too good for this level, save that I may want to cover all the materials that the masters would have one cover.

Does a VERY poor job explaining really anything it's trying to teach. Operates in simple "right" or "wrong" terms, you have to make the exact correct move, and I certainly hope you don't need to know what makes it the correct move.

Very smart teaching app, needs more explination for beginners. I couldn't tell what I learned in some of the lessons but pushing through helped me realize what I was doing right.

Enjoying this a lot but sometimes, no matter how much cache I clear, it just won't open. I've uninstalled and reinstalled once already. Next time might just be an uninstall. That said, when it was working, I was really loving my lockdown chess learning phase. Lol.

In this app on fourth puzzle the app does a mistake. The app says to do a move that I can earn just one piece, but it's clear that can be done a move that can earn two pieces and the material get equal. Review this error. Thanks

Wonderfully designed for beginners to club player. Tricks with practice and also through lesson taught wisely. If play the full version you never feel bored. So I rate it 5 star. Also there is no boring commercial ad in between game is there.. hopefully you also like it.

Even though I bought this I found the interface to be a challenge to get to grips with and I found myself giving up many times. Very confusing which is a pity as there is so much good content but the layout is so non-intuitive.

The practice section is way too advanced to actually reinforce the theory concepts. I should be able to read section 1 and then reinforce the concept by practicing section 1. Instead the practice for section 1 doesn't reinforce the concepts, but quizzes you on making the "right" move in a scenario that has nothing to do with the topic. I wanted to use this app to learn how to apply the theory concepts, but this is impossible with useless 'practice' such as this.

If I likened this app to being a learner driver, it's a bit like enjoying the initial getting to use first gear and the brakes in the car park for the first part and then being challenged to negotiate the local town centre in the second part, with no real feedback as to why you're doing right or wrong before the instructor declares the lesson over. Will persevere...

1) Define one and only one language (don't mix, e.g., the title of the program in Portuguese and it's features in English, or vice-versa). ALL in Portuguese OR in English, please. Essentially give the player the chance to make his choice. 2) Let the little info windows the player rating or on the title of the lesson about to start, etc, showing up in the screen till the player click on it to make it disappear. Please rid this overall excellent program off that one-millisecond, inutile "info".

The app is really helpful. Sometime it is hard to follow the logic behind and it is not as interactive as other apps. There seem to be a connection with a lot of other apps....It's hard to find out which app one needs.. Support responded a bit late to a request but the problem was resolved in a reasonable time.

I bought the full version of this app because it helped me a lot. I thought making one purchase provides the entire course but when I downloaded the total chess endgames app of chess king, I had to make separate purchase for that. Moreover, the app says there is a chess learn app which has all the courses from all the different apps but in reality that app does not exist. Little dissatisfied.

Really confusing. I don't understand why I have to move a specific piece in that specific play most of the time, only that it wouldn't say "right move" otherwise. There are no explanations and only a brief objective beneath each new gameboard; play to win and mate in # are relatively straightforward, but everything else makes very little sense to someone who hasn't gotten to club level yet.

Seems really well-made but usually there's no reason to pay for this stuff as it can be found for free. Perhaps if the UI was designed better and this app was made to be closer to a "categorised wiki page" providing materials and lessons for beginners, intermediate, advanced, and other categories, then it would have been a 5 stars because the current system is rather odd. If the dev ever plans on doing an overhaul then I recommend looking at the app "sololearn". The course format there is great.

Excellent! Installed as a lapsed amateur and it really helped me get back into the groove. Very generous free version, thank you - will definitely be buying the full app now. Explanations are thorough and clear (10/10 for actually having text I can skim instead of making me watch a video). Puzzles are appropriately challenging (for the level) and also explore blunders and weak lines. Really like the customisation options! Wd be nice to be able to flip the board to study openings as black.

I have learnt a lot using this app. I haven't done much of the theory stuff but I think that helps to understand why moves happen a certain way. I think beginners need to be told that wrong moves are only wrong because they lead to uncertain or neutral outcomes, right moves lead to strong advantages or winning the game. I have spent some time figuring out why moves are right or wrong but this is exactly what is needed when actually playing a game of chess, so it's good training.
