very good app, pretty easy, i like how you can go back and redo courses to recapture a course also you can repeat the voice and its not timed highly recommend this app. . only thing i would change is adding more of a variety of vocabulary. some words repeat on the following course once completed, but i get it, helps to remember....thank you lots Au revoir!

Too laggy. The app is promising, but it is clear from the very beginning that the user has to pay if he wants to progress after the most basic levels. Duolingo also asks for money, but not by blocking content. Also, the UI lags and when we tap two words quickly to write a sentence, the second tap isn't registered if the same is done during the animation.

Was great when first purchased - since then, found it didn't have enough grammar lessons, too much translating words such as "taxi" (after all it sounds the same in all languages !!) Has too much repetition. Regrettably I've uninstalled the app - dissapointed as a paid up customer - has potential to improve.

This seems to be one of the best online courses in French available. My mother was of French descent vis-à-vis Louisiana, but we didn't learn French from her. I have a BA and MA in Spanish and a BAccy (Accounting) and am a retired CPA (Tax and Audit). Why Spanish/French? I can imitate sounds, very detailed with grammar, literature, the US Tax Code. For the Mondly course, I suggest you incorporate more exercises in conversation with better feedback from the student to test his pronunciation.

I love this app!! Even the free version is awesome!!! Its very easy to navigate within the app. You can go back to practice words you've already learned and so much more!! My 11 year old is learning French and not only is he learning french very quickly he loves the app as well. It makes it so FUN and Easy to learn that my kids WANT to (PLAY) it!

Microphone doesn't work. Of course this happened in the middle of a lesson and there's no way to try to fix the mic with the app somewhere else in the settings. Only a few basic lessons are for free. You will not even get started on your French learning path before you have to shell out cash to this company, of which you are constantly bombarded with fullscreen ads trying to get your money. The sound effects are almost hurting. Overall a rather boring and antagonizing experience.

I'm a premium member since 2017. The app got accidentally uninstalled, although I reinstalled in a few days’ time. My subscription is on till October and yet the app is not letting me use the premium features. It keeps asking me pay, yet again. Edit : Rating them 5 stars as they promptly resolved the issue without much hassles. Kudos to their team. Good wishes!

So far, I like it. But the rating request came after only a few minutes of using the app, so my opinion might still change. Update : The free trial lessons seem to be too basic to get a good impression. Update : Now I'm stuck in a loop with basic words, even though I selected advanced lessons. Microphone function control not fluid on my phone (button doesn't respond well). I like how it looks and works, but I would need more convincing before paying.

Good but a little buggy here and there. Doesn't always give accurate translations itself but then deducts a point when you don't answer with the exact answer it expects. Microphone button is temperamental. Translates your spoken answer into the wrong word even when it sounds the same as the right answer eg voudrais/voudrait. Support is non-existent - queries you send just disappear with no record of sending and you never get a reply. Overall quite good, though.

After trying the free app I bought the life time account. So far it's brilliant...the best language app I have used. I love the chat bot ...actually having conversations so I can improve my pronunciation and learning different ways to respond or question. Most important to learn and build confidence in conversation. Too many apps just throw words out there to tap on or spell. Hopefully in a few months I will notice a great difference in my conversational skills.

Well-structured app with daily lessons and many other lessons to work your way through if you have the paid version. It is easy to review words and phrases over and over quite quickly using the weekly and monthly lessons. The only problem is that after 18 months using it I have reached the stage where I have done all the lessons and now I am just revising. Though there is a lot there it would be good if I could keep going with more new stuff.

The app is good, but lessons in the categories are so are so short and limited I've just finished business and I have learned very very few vocabulary and a couple phrases like, in this country there are too many unemployment, that I don't find important enough to be included in such small lessons. So please, keep working in the content.

Hi. I'm learning French. The app is marking some of my spelling wrong. For example, I spelt both umbrella and charger correctly, but you gave both of them wrong. I carefully looked through it just to be sure whether or not I was missing a "full stop" "capital letters" etc. Regards Monica NB: The three stars isn't permanent. I'll be reviewing again. I've just started.

It's an efficient and effective app, I have learned a lot in the few times I spent. However, the app need to teach more instead of giving out test(we came to learn the fundamentals first, we can't know if we aren't taught), also, it need to give out space for corrections more when the questions are failed in order to discuss and learn more about it. Lastly, more word options should be updated regularly into the app. Overall, a great useful App.

By far the best language learning app I have ever tried. Focuses on functional learning so you basically hit the ground running with learning how to speak your chosen language. Other apps are too heavily focused on vocabulary before anything else which is not always the most ideal when learning a new language as an adult. Have used this app for learning other languages (Afrikaans) and it is great.

My French is between CEFR B1 & B2. I converse with native French speakers for 1-3 hours every week, and they have no trouble understanding me. This app is conceptually good, but it fails during speaking exercises when my microphone input is mistranslated again and again, about 75% of the time. After several attempts at really simple words (which I know quite well), I often just quit the lesson from sheer frustration. As things now stand, I do not intend to renew this subscription.

I like my French lessons, but I am letting this be where I list some room for improvement with the Mondly setup. The voice recognition can be really hit or miss. This I think is because it considers words that make no sense in the context. When practicing "Do you like me?" In French, I got "Honda", and some English words. Only the language being practiced should be used to interpret speech. This also happens in German, Spanish, and especially Hebrew. Great app, but please fix this.

I've used different language apps before and this is the easiest one to learn with. I can go as fast or as slow as I want. I can repeat the recorded word or phrase over and over so I get the pronunciation correct before moving on. Some of these apps move way to fast which makes the content easier to forget and harder to pronounce correctly. This app is just my pace. Great app!

I couldn't find an assessment to take me past absolute beginner level. The AI chat bot recognized longer answers consistently, but just as consistently couldn't recognize single words as simple as oui. Also, maybe there's some learning science reason for all the extra verbiage (e.g. In French, now it's your turn, etc) but I found it annoying. Great concept, frustrating in actuality. I'll check back in a couple years.

Their French is incorrect. The app was great at first. Easy to use and I really like the AI. However, once I got into lesson 1-3 of the first premium section I saw the text was glitchy and completely wrong. She speaks way too fast for you to accurately hear what she's saying. I'm not fluent but I know enough French to know it was teaching me the wrong translation. I immediately cancelled my free trial and deleted it. Not worth it if they aren't teaching you the correct French phrases and words.
