I love the functionality of the app and yesterday discovered it even sends notifications of which platform zone to wait in. Brilliant! Now the downside! The app will not go away. I close the app and it restarts again. Close - starts again, close - starts. Over and over. The only way I've found to make it go away is to do a Force Stop under App settings. Annoying!

It looks like the app shows real time information about delays etc, but it doesn't work. The app seems to only shows whatever the status was when you first look up a journey. If the status changes and you look at it later (even hours later), it ignores any new information that has come in and keeps pretending the status is whatever it was hours earlier. Don't rely on this app for anything important like journey planning, it's just not reliable.

Always had awful experiences with this app. It constantly crashes when trying to open it and when trying to scan my ticket at the barriers. Other times it randomly opens when I doing something else. I've had it crash several times during payments which have resulted in having to phone up to confirm if my tickets were confirmed or not. Overall a bad experience, considering how much money I pay every week to use their services for commuting 😔

After getting the "Time To Update" message whenever I open the app (saying the app is "no longer supported and will soon be disabled") I've downloaded it again as instructed - several times now - and I still get the error message every time I open it. I'm now starting to worry that my stored tickets for future travel are going to disappear.

It's been a while since I last needed to use the train. Having now moved closer to a station, I will be using it much more. As a wheelchair user who generally travels alone, I have found LNER and their App extremely simple to navigate, even when I had to change my travel plans at the last moment today, it was all done seamlessly, including the changing of my required assistance. Technology, when it works smoothly is a wonderful thing indeed! 👍🏻

Painfully slow app. Every time I open it, it crashes and you have restart it which is especially inconvenient when they are waiting to check your tickets. Also, when you select a return ticket, it auto fills in the time to 4 hours later, which is really annoying design, just let me fill it in myself. Once you're actually on the app, it works fine though.

The website has a nice and easy to use 'calendar' way of selecting your dates, even seeing the potential lowest price to aid selection. The app does not have this, only having a scroll wheel for date and month so you cannot see it as a calendar, and have no sense of whether the dates are weekday, weekend, cheap, expensive etc etc. Utterly incompetent really.

The app is reasonably visually appealing and does a lot, but - and this is serious - the logic of the purchase process seems to be flawed. I just bought a ticket and it did not appear in the "journeys" section. Tried again and now I have TWO tickets. This suggests there could be "race" conditions - software faults that could enable errors or fraud. - Apart from that Mrs Lincoln... Update: The purchase process seems improved, but there are still problems with the app

As with many of the other reviews, mobile/WiFi error messages despite perfectly good connection, and it only happens when you try to pay. It's infuriating. So, time wasted - and only downloaded the app in the first place because I saw adverts for getting Perks which actually seem like not terribly bad rewards. Of course, that is if you can use them! A sham app.

On my first booking: easy to navigate and use. Took a star away as I think there is a glitch in the system for PayPal payments. It kept popping up saying I was not connected to WiFi or data even though I was. Even closed and opened the app again, refreshed, turned WiFi off and on again, nothing. Please fix this as it is my preferred payment method.

Very poor. Overly long UI scrolling past one screen in lots of places, doesn't seem designed for customers or mobiles. Prices seem cheaper if you for to 'mix & match' which then just mirrors the unintuitive web UI. Ongoing booking issue with "unable to access WiFi" error that cancels booking despite being on a stable office connection. Offered £5 discount to use mobile app but it's so frustrating I'd rather not have free money. Happy to offer direct feedback and free suggestions if you want.

Fails to do the most basic of things. When booking a ticket, it's a frustrating experience as it doesn't show days (perfect example of terrible UX design) and the search regularly hangs. More frustratingly, if there is a train delay, the app claims there's an error and you have to go to their website to get an update. The fact the hide delays through this "error" shows how poorly designed the app is.

I used the LNER App to book tickets, and it was all very easy. I've just had to rearrange my train departure time and managed to do this through the App as well.........all straightforward and easy to do 👍🙂🚉

I bought a period return and remember clearly seeing the long validity date on the ticket within the app after purchase. However when I came to make my return journey it had disappeared and the app was saying I bought a day return. This is not the case- during the booking process I had already gone back once to correct this. The "customer service" form forces you to choose between options that do not apply to my case. I am not going to waste my time trying to get money back, will justuninstall.

App is ok, common tasks should be more easily accessible instead of scrolling. The notification to show your seat reservation just randomly picks a seat that isn't the one you booked so you have to open the app to check anyway.

The App works but: * it will not show you the best connections - it always suggest me to wait for 40 minutes when in fact there is a better connection with only 10 minutes wait * once your train is cancelled (which happen often) the App is useless in finding alternative connections * and then they send you useless notifications for train they know you will be not able to make becouse they cancelled the first leg of your journey

since being forced to reinstall the app no longer recognises my login details. They haven't changed and I can still login via the Web. really annoying.

Unable to buy a ticket that includes a one-day off-peak London travelcard when selecting zones 1-6 as start or end. Also cannot apply GroupSave when numbers travelling would make this the best option. If this app can't do these things then I'm better off using another ticket sales app and uninstalling this one.

Love this app so easy to book and earn Perks Credit, I just wish it told you what journeys it was for in the credit history, even if it was just the 3 letter station codes of both stations it would make it easier to track the journey the credit came from

Legitimately robust. Train tracking works well, eTickets just work out of the gate (...pun not intended), the app is one of the most responsive ones I've ever used (which feels odd but there we are) and unlike the TrainSplit app you can double up on Railcards and it will apply them to separate tickets - massive timesaver. I am slightly confused upon trying to find a red star to spend my LNER credit but I am earning it, at least. Reservations work better here than on the website, too.
