App didn't work when I 1st installed it. 1) It required that I allow for my location to be given before it would let me move forward. 2) Once I did that, it was like it was frozen or in a loop. There was no option or way for me to get to the home page or the rewards page to scan my receipts. Nothing worked except location. Very annoying. And very disappointing for a company whose food and service we love. Later I Uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Seems to be working now.

Not even counting that the rewards system is awful, this app sucks. It's way easier to order online. Quite often, the app says the restaurant is out of something. It doesn't tell you what and could even be on something you've taken off. I've found this is very common on seasonal items. If you order the same thing online, it will go through, and I've had no issues at the restaurant with them actually out. This also doesn't have an option for pay in store. So you can't use it of you have a coupon.

Inventory has not been correct for the locations in my area for months. Never has the correct soups, chilli, etc. then if you try to order a spud and add chilli, which it still lists as an option, the app errors and doesn't let you continue. Plus, the error is not even one that indicates the issue. this forces one into the store, which is less vhan ideal during a pandemic. Giving the individual stores the ability to control their own inventory would be a good start. Then fix the error messages.

Spent 10 minutes making the order and tried to checkout.. I get the "oops, one or more items can't be ordered right now. try changing items in your cart". This error is COMPLETELY USELESS. Also, if I did care to go through the process of trying to figure out which item is the issue, I don't see an obvious way of modifying the cart contents short of restarting the app and losing the entire order. Also, the food selections need descriptions! This is a good looking, but useless app!

App is super glitchy. Also never saves my payment method. No matter how many times I check the "save for later" box when I enter my payment I always have to get my card back out and reenter it every single time. There's no way to add it to your profile either. Not a huge deal but it's frustrating when I'm trying to place an order in a hurry and can't just click pay.

For the most part, the app is alright the few issues I've run across is that once you choose a car from your choices for curbside, you can't change it to a different one. Also, once you place your order, it says to click "I'm here" so they know you've arrived. However, once you close the screen or change apps, it disappears. Going into your recent orders doesn't bring up the button either, and it's not posted in the confirmation email. Its overall frustrating.

Changing my 5 star review to 1 star and deleting app. It was great when it worked! I loved being able to order for pick up (although the option to order ahead for dine in would be awesome too!) and the rewards were great offers to use. But no rewards for almost 6 months (if not more) and errors whenever trying to order have made it a waste of space on my phone for the time being. If it's ever up and running properly again, we'll see.

Update: The app is now working and I was able to add my favorite location. I rebooted my phone & that seemed to help. I appreciate the developers reaching out. It shows they care about their product. I upgraded to the new version of this app and now it will not let me select my favorite location. My location is not listed even though it's on the map that the app provides, and it's on the McAlister's website. So if I can't choose the McAlister's that I go to regularly, then I can't use the app.

There have not been any rewards through the app in months. I've discussed it with corporate more than once and keep hearing that they "look forward to rewarding customers through the app again soon." I love our local McAlister's restaurant, but the app is currently worthless to me. I originally wrote the above review in June. It's now August 31, and I'm more annoyed because it's the same story. Also, many options that address available to order in the restaurant are not options on the app.

Deleted app after trying to use it once. Poorly designed interface. Adding a salad to your cart requires choosing a dressing, which makes sense. But where to choose the dressing is not intuitive. It's mixed in with salad ingredients instead of a separate option or under customization options. If you choose chips as a side, you can't add them to the cart without choosing a flavor, but the options are no where to be found. The same issue is on their website.

The app works perfectly about 95% of the time. Sometimes it won't let me check out saying that "something I am ordering isn't available" at the location I am ordering from, but that won't actually be true because I am getting tea and a salad. I just have to redo the order a couple times to get it through. Other than that, I love getting the coupons through the app! I really enjoy eating there, so the app definitely speeds things up sometimes.

Love the food disappointed in the app. Works when it wants to. Rewards rarely show up. App needs signifigant improvement but overall content is good. love the menu options and details. although as of this week I went to order twice now and only part of the menu shows up. No kids menus, no choose 2 option's, no shareable. I have 2 kids kind of need kids meals.

Beware. This app automatically changes you for 15% tip for to-go order. And it's really hard to change the tip amount. The buttons are disabled initially and you have to press back button, then comeback to the cart in order to be able to use the Hutton. It is forcing you to pay the tip, but in Togo order, who gets the tip? There's no server. Is the company keeping it?

The only thing good I can say about having this app is that you can scan it (most times) for your rewards. If you order online then you'll pay higher for your food and/or pay a convenience fee. I have rarely had my order be exactly what I ordered and have even had to return to a location for missing/wrong items. NOT a convenience to me. It does help with keeping track with your points, but it only records transactions you order through the app. My least favorite/useful app!

This app use to work just fine, but not the case anymore. I get through placing a whole order, then it just clocks. Pretty annoying when you have someone else on their way to pick up the order. I have reinstalled it, now it won't let me even sign in. Better fix your bugs, especially if your going to constantly encourage to download the app. It's a waste of time and space.

The app is decent, until you go to place your order. Then, it just spins and never actually goes through (have tried multiple times, different cards, etc). The last time I let it run for over 15 minutes, and it never actually went through. Would be great if they could fix that issue.

Wouldn't let me input payment method. It kept returning to the screen before the payment screen. Rendered the app completely useless. Also the only place to put in a payment method is the very screen that wouldn't accept it at checkout. I went to see if I could put in my payment info when editing my profile and the option doesn't exist.

We spent 20 minutes trying to add a credit card to pay for our order, and it would not acknowledge it. Plus, they charge you to place your own order through the app! They also charge you for substitutions (if you want a different type of cheese, you can make the change, but they charge you extra for the different type of cheese). We love McAlister's food, but the app is actually keeping us away.

Charges use fee per order! Otherwise super basic, but did the job. I'm still pissed I was charged almost $1 to use the app for a $20 order! Even better they hid it in with the tax. They also defaulted a 15% tip I had to work to find how to remove. I don't tip 15% to put a salad in a bag. They didn't even have to enter an order. Extremely poor customer experience and service. Think twice about using the app.

I don't know what has changed but something has. I loaded my cart with an order for the office to pick up at a scheduled time. Ordering was a breeze on the ap...however trying to finalize my order, pay, and submit it was impossible. The ap literally sat and spun for 20 minutes. I checked my bank account to see if the debit went through and it didn't. Tried again and it did the same thing. This time I didn't waste my time once it swirled for longer than 30 seconds I just gave up. What a joke!
