This game is cute and captivating... but the absolutely unskippable and incessant tutorial makes me want to set a programmer on fire. I don't need to be shown how to merge things, and being forced to merge individually when you could obviously get a chain right off the bat is nonsense AND fails to show new players that chains are even possible.

I otherwise really like the game, but I will probably uninstall it for its battery consumption. It would be fine if it only drained my battery while the game was open, but it runs in the background too. It's all the timers. I have a suggestion, instead of running multiple timers, have the game run checks against the phone's clock, and only have those checks run while the app is open. This is how a lot of Nintendo games measured time passage, and it reduces battery strain immensely.

The only issue i have with the game itself is when you tap the well of life for crops, you don't ever get enough on the day of the ones you need. Maybe i should save and lock more? Otherwise ive stuck with this for over a yr. Its a good game. Ive played all the old original farm/fantasy kind of games for 15 yrs, you cant find many good ones anymore.

Decided to try to redownload this game again & see if I can FINALLY play it, but still can't!!! It says it needs to download additional data over WiFi, it gets to 94% downloaded, then loops to another message with a larger bunch of MBs, again gets to 94% & just keeps looping. I still have yet to try this game like at all. My original tries were during the sanrio crossover . I think I'm just going to have to not bother since no one ever replied to my old review saying there was a problem!!!

I wish I could give this game more stars! This has been my go-to phone game for over 3 months now, and that is huge for me. I normally get sick of games quickly. This one has great graphics, great characters, great missions, and often adds new missions, keeping things feeling new. I really enjoy that they change things up every little bit, adding a new island or a new character. I especially like the Mystery Island. You end up getting a lot of prizes and it's a lot of fun. Definitely try!

It's really cool, and I love the concept! I mostly got it cuz of the sanrio characters lol But anyways, the issue I have with it is that after I downloaded it, I got the starting dialogue/cutscenes, but once I started merging stuff the game just crashed on me. I tried again and the same thing happened. Please fix this so I can actually play it :(

100% agree with other reviews. There are essential merge features here that other merge 5s never thought of. Magnet drag is crucial. Lock items, yesss. Harvest all like items, 100% required. Disable free will harvesting, typically locked behind VIP, is free here. Someone thought long and hard about what is missing in other merge 5s and added it here.

Edit: I can't load the game. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, cleared my cache and restarted my phone. It's stuck "looking for changes to island..." This is the best merge game in the app store!!! There are so many features that I have wanted in merge games that Kuya Island uses! For example, my favorite feature is the magnet! If you hold down on anything - you can magnet all the same right to it. SUPER USEFUL! The Magnifying Glass tells you how much of the highlighted resource you have.

Decided to redownload with the Sanrio collab on my new phone and have barely played another game since. It's an anxiety reliever seeing the cute characters, sometimes having the music on, and watching the animations.I love that it's purely creatures. The magnet pull is great too. Once I figured out the timing I've been able to save and use the gems better.

If you've played a merge game, you've played this one. The only thing that annoys the hell out of me is the tutorial that pops up at every new item like I've never played a merge game before. I don't need every new level I gain to have a celebration screen pop up. Just let me play the damn game or give me an option to skip all this extra stuff. It adds nothing.

Stands out in the merge genre. Several quality of life features that I haven't seen in other games of this type. The magnet saves a ton of dragging and time. The ability to lock items so that you don't accidentally open that item you're saving. The developers are more thoughtful and responsive than I've seen from other games and are trying to build a good game, not just a cheap money generator.

Hated the cutscenes, looks cute but I had it for a few minutes, couldn't play the game and just felt no interest in trying to continue. I wasn't looking for something with plot. Just cute and merging. I was interested because of the sanrio Collab but the way they make you do 80 cutscenes and tutorials for no reason made me uninstall almost immediately.

I really like the game probably one of my favorites. When first installed it worked great but now for some reason after the game loads and selecting start the game just shuts off. Uninstalled and installed back but didn't fix the issue. Definitely would give a higher rating if this wasn't a issue as I can't play at all now.

Love this game. I wish they had an option to unmerge. I mean without it is still fine. Definitely better than any other merge game I've played. I wish your team would make another. Same idea, but different kind, like maybe a number 2 to this game. Make all new Kuya and a whole new journey. Or maybe add more land in the game im on level 109 and it's became pretty repetitive. Still addicting, but repetitive. Love this game.

Game is cute and charming. Has a lot of nice little changes to the merge genre that were needed, such as the magnet pull and options to merge only when overlapped. But the game is still pretty buggy. There's this notification bug on the journal that won't disappear even though I've already looked at all my unlockables. A few times if you move items around it will still register that spot as taken and won't allow a new item to be put in its place. Game needs some serious debugging.

This game is really fun. I do wish there was a storage though, my island quickly gets filled with a bunch of stuff. It'd be nice to store things, especially event items that have no use. They just take up needed space but I don't want to delete them forever. I also have had a few problems with the app freezing, I have to close and reopen it. I also wish you could pause the game while in adventure mode!!

While the content from the new update was interesting enough to bring me back from a hiatus, it also brought constant crashing and forced restarts due to there being a "saving error". The game has already been a bit annoying to play due to it only being playable with good wifi, but the constant crashing and restarts makes it unplayable after 15 minutes. The 3D characters and items are unique and cute though, for the Merge game genre.
