The balance in the app doesn't match the actual available balance. The photo deposit of checks takes along time. I snap shotted a check on Jan 3 and it's the 14th. they bounced 3 checks that I had sent in anticipation. The app shows that the money is there but it keeps charging $30 bounce fees and wont show which checks are bounced. aweful app. customer service said in order for my checks to clear faster I need more collateral (money). I only put in about $4k a month. pennies in their world.

Don't know what happened with the last update, but biometric login is now broken. There is a checkbox "Set up biometrics" on the login screen, but when I check that and authenticate, the app says biometrics are already set up, and makes me clear the box and start over. Once I'm in the app, I go to the settings and biometric login is confirmed as enabled. Disabling and re-enabling does not help. Please fix this.

I don't understand why they delete the password saved by Google. I have 2 accounts, so I can't even use fingerprints because it only configures for 1 account. Because I don't use the app that frequently, I keep forgetting the password. Every time I have to check Google password manager and type it. The same happens on the browser, BTW. This is the only site/app that I have seen which functions this way.

was told by support that finger print is only available for samsung device. i have a nexus 6p and i cannot set up finger print login at all. hate to type login name and password every single time!!!! such a stupid design decision. update: update the review to 5 stars. i have seen a lot of useful upgrades for this app: finger print login is supported, and portfolio update is a lot more realtime.

Usability of the open order grid is awful. It has a fixed column of the order type buy or sell. So when you scroll you can't see which security it pertains to. The theme, typeface, layout (should be tighter) and functionalities are all decent. But the specifics need a lot of work for usability. Sad really. I would have messaged them directly. But there's no messaging in this app. Another let down. If you've allocated all your cash to limit orders and you try to change a limit order it fails.

Extremely buggy. Often requires multiple login attempts with correct credential/fingerprint to actually get in. Logs out too quickly without ability to adjust timeout, which exacerbate the above issue. Sold securities still listed and incorrectly adjusting overall performance. Streaming stock quotes often not working. I can go on and on. The app is also missing features that are readily available throughout their website, such as ability to purchase securities that they deem "risky".

3rd time loading various versions of this app, it still is a poor platform, inconsistent and wonky. So true the opinion that a company of this size and stature can't make an app worth using. Take a page from TD Ameritrade, clean interface, quick transition between accounts, and yes, easy trade executions. Wow...

Somewhat difficult to navigate. Requirement that a new password cannot be "similar to previous 5 passwords" is bizarre, poorly documented, and "similar" is not defined. (Are you storing passwords in clear text? Reversible encryption? If you were hashing them properly, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between "changed one character" and "changed every character".)

This vintage app design is old, clunky, slow and unintuitive. Please update the app with a more streamlined design that let's you easily find what is needed. The charts are poorly visualized and don't provide a sliding historic view. Trade history, holdings, summary and stock/news information for a managed stock should be one one page and not require to click through multiple times. Dashboard should have all stocks and holdings up front. Use Robinhood as a bench.

Extremely difficult to navigate. NOT user friendly. Constantly need to restart. Will probably stick for now as I am tied to their bank, which makes going back and forth to accounts a breeze. Its impossible to find information on pending orders, past orders etc. It frustrates the heck out of me, the customer service reps were nice and understanding. TD Ameritrade app blows this out of the water. Looks OK however, but that's about it. Will probably abandon. Update, drains battery too!!!

Stupid initial page on new version. If I am an existing customer with account and biometrics setup, why would I need to see the option of "let's get started" or "login" every single time?! It was working fine with just login for years. Now it's taking an extra stupid step to get in. At least have an option in the settings to disable that "get started" initial menu. PS. Some charts in the app have always been stupid! e.g when it's showing only 4 data points for a monthly chart instead of 30!

This app blows. It is slow to respond for touches and taps; takes too long to load the next screen; seems to have a stupid "rotate" button that floats over my keyboard that covers the keys: fghcvb and I cannot seem to long-hold or drag that button or kill it. If I need to rotate the screen I will just tilt my device!!! I wish my dashboard stats could be fixed to the top of the screen. So I can see them when making decisions, especially cash available. Tutorials go to browser, super annoying.

I have a Pixel 3XL and the app was always slow to login with, sometimes had to try more than once. Now, since upgrading my phone to Android 10, it's gotten worse. My device is no longer recognized. I need to authenticate every time I login. Merrill also thinks I'm trying to login from Quicken and keeps asking me to finish my Quicken setup, which I keep refusing to do. So I'm done with this app for now. I'll wait for the next update and try again... If I'm still with BoA/Merrill that is.

needs major overhaul and improvement. charts are a disgrace. placing trades is much more difficult than it should be. barely supports basic functions. been requesting changes for 2 years and nothing has been fixed. 2 years and no improvements to functionality, charts, or ease of use. Please update this app immediately to at least somewhere on the same page as competitors. This app is just way too outdated and is being blown away by apps like Robinhood and Webull who just started doing this.

The app is improved compared to a year or 2 ago, but could use a more seamless integration with Bank of America App, and sometimes transitioning within the page is still a bit glitchy. When you pull up any position, you should be able to see more data (Cost basis, gains/losses etc) without having to go to a different page. Good app overall though, and I continue with Merril Edge mostly just because I use BOA for my banking needs.

This app has many missing features and a few bugs. The "advanced" charts do not have nearly enough customization options to be of any use. There's no streaming real time quotes. The widget only shows one stock from my watch list. Notifications for filled orders are noticeably delayed. The UI for rolling options doesn't work.

The app is okay but quirky compared to the iPhone app. The columns when you are in the different account do NOT line up at all and that is frustrating (proce, cost basis, unrealized loss). Update: I do not like the recent updates tot he Merrill app. It now mirrors BofA's app. If I wanted BofA, I'd open up that app. Bring back the previous version when the app was investment related ONLY!

Absolutely garbage. I should've left a review years ago, but I kept hoping things will change. Their mobile app is absolutely worthless. It literally will crash as soon as you switch your window to a different app. Even if you want to switch right back after maybe 30 seconds. Its 2024, their app is still old fashion from 15 years ago. No live tickers or update of your profolio, even off their website you have to hit the refresh button to see any changes. It even drains battery in the backgroun

Update: somehow they made it worse. The bottom row of buttons doesn't always appear when you open the Merrill edge portion of the new app since it was integrated with the BofA app. Update: keep getting this error every other time I try to login. "We're sorry, but we're unable to complete your request. Please try again later." Original: It works most of the time.... Sometimes it doesn't. I may be switching soon. Update:. So far behind the competition. Not made for this era.

I can not find words to express how awful this app is. I'm so disappointed in Merrill Edge. I'm tired of calling to complain about the app, but still, the issues still arise. The app freezes most of the time whenever the market is up and you want to execute trades. Update (6-12-2024) Trading no longer works. I see a blank page whenever I click on the trading icon. The app also tries to open a website whenever I click on account overview, then get stuck buffering. I have to close all tasks.
