I hate being forced to have this messenger with ads. I should not have to pay to not see ads. Not happy with not having as many functions as I did with my old messenger unless I pay. Highway robbery and I'm not given a free choice with the same capabilities.

it's not much different that the messenger+ app, except now if you want to not have ads popping up every time you open the app you have to pay a monthly fee, seems like a downgrade from messenger+ to me.

I'm not at all happy that I have to use this app after having Samsung Messenger. It is a BIG step down, in my opinion. No customization features. Full of Google ads that pop up filling the screen. I would give it less than one star if I could.

When I set my custom background picture for my text messaging and then close it out I open it back up and it has gone back to default, I don't like that and was wo dero g qhynit does that I'd rather have my own pictures and not just some colorful or white background

I hate being forced to change messaging apps. It looks like it is time to leave the Android platform. As Google thinks that they know what apps we need to use. They are taking away all options. They already know what we do and what we want to do. So they can send a bunch of BS ads. They are just looking to force more paid BS to everyone. Can't stand it, doesn't work right with my blue parrot , when I use the mic, plus it's too slow and the ads are awful when the other text messaging was A LOT BETTER heck always trying to make things better but turns out bad. I'd I could give it no star I would.

I cannot use this app as desired please Restore other message apps. This thing is absolutely useless. I don't have access to any of the pictures that were sent on previous messages nor can I send pictures. I don't care about apple compatability

This text messages app has to be the worst on the planet. All it does is send FAKE auto answers by the ton in replies. One sender reply code sends HUNDREDS of "fake cannot answers in a non response." I have never seen nor heard of such nonsense of a simple text messaging app! It's probably the very reason CHINA hackers are targeting American companies! This is a stupid app system on a maga level! These unnecessary ads are the worst! No human wants any of these sales of goods and services.

When opening for a received message, there's nothing indicating where the message is! I've missed so many messages until that person sends me another one and it opens all of a sudden! If you don't open the message on home screen, you can't see it from the message app, what's this about 🤨

I paid to upgrade for more features, but the upgrade did not show up. The charge on my card was for more than I expected, and I can no longer see details on the upgrade features. This is frustrating because I wanted to see if I misunderstood what I was paying for. I feel like I was tricked.

Update: there is a 3-4 second delay in this app launching. Please fix so that app can load quicker. And consider adding option to "delay" sending messages (i.e. 2 secs, 3 secs,..) To allow users to stop messages from being sent. Also, add different theme options for the main screen (conversation list)...when you select chat theme color, that theme doesn't carry over to the conversation list. Lastly, please add Option to change bubble shape and have avatars for bubble chats. Ads, ads, ads.

This app feels hastily put together. It's slow to respond. I have missed messages that go to my previous message app that didn't cross over. I had to pay to get rid of ads that popped up incessantly. When it automatically asked for end to end encryption there were misspellings that made it feel like a scam. I'm Definitely going to miss Verizon messages.

This app is not as responsive or versatile as Messages+. This is the first day switching over, and I was immediately distressed by the ads. I'm over 50, and all the moving, glitching and accidental opening of windows and things trying to sell me something makes me annoyed! Why can't I have an option Not to be annoyed by ads WITHOUT PAYING FOR IT? LET THE PEOPLE WHO WANT ADS PAY TO HAVE THEM INSTEAD! Customer Service is a thing of the past. That's Very Sad.

I used to love this app, but now, when I go to it, I have to watch ads before I can see my messages. I am so tired of ads! With the old messages, I didn't have to watch some stupid ad about a game I already had. Now, when I go to the Play Store, to find my old message app, there are 2 that are almost the same. So, guard your old message app. This one stinks!

The individual messages are great. I can adjust colors and text size. But on the front page, I can not! I'm aging! My eyes are not perfect. Print is too faint and too small. Also, I have some messages that aren't coming through. I know they are there. I heard the notification. And I was sitting there waiting for it. I.e. a pin from the IRS? Nowhere

I hate this app! It is worthless! I can't send or receive photo attachments. I can't believe you charge to just have "SWIPE to delete." The ads are infuriatingly obnoxious, especially when they cover the whole page. Message + had ads, but they were not flashing at the top of the page or covering my whole screen! I figured a Google App was surely the best one to switch to, but boy, was I woefully mistaken. I can't believe this is a Google App!

Switching over from Verizon's shuttered Message+ and this app not only is covered in ads unless you have the money to afford a paid *subscription* (are you kidding), but it eats all the messages I send, can't adjust font size, and deletes messages from accidentally swiping on the conversation. Thumbs up for actually having a black text option instead of forced white text! I'm so tired of corporations forcing us to pay for features that always used to be available on the built-in programs.
