This app is not amazing. From my experience anyways. I am a new metro customer, so i dont really know if i have to have it or not. The plus side is there are some interesting articles. The down side you have to go thru too many damn pages just to get the run around about the story and finally 28 pages later they give you some type of bs conclusion. Example: i just saw an article on something scientists say it is really bad for you to sleep with the fan on at night. Gave up after 6 pages.

I don't like having to read just a little then changes pages so many times. It is ver frustrating! However, the article i might be reading keeps me going. I figure if I want to know what I started reading, I must follow. It is very tiring. I usually get interrupted before I finish - it is so irritating! At least make each page a little longer rather than changing almost every line or two so that we feel fulfilled by finally reading to the end of the article we are interested to read.

I'm so annoyed with the pop-up opening page when you unlock. I would absolutely like the option to turn it off or at least be able to customize ads more relevant & interesting to me & my local area. However, like someone else commented, I am forced to look at some news that I would probably never look at, so sometime I can consider it a plus.

I'm not sure what happened but I can no longer disable this app following what I assume was a recent update. The app can't be deleted because it's tied to my service provider but there use to be an option to disable its functionality. I have no interest whatsoever in using MetroZone. Each time I unlock my phone, the app opens automatically and I have to close the window. There is no excuse for this kind of intrusive bloatware on customer's mobile devices.

Whenever it isn't set to never use in background while also setting restrictions keeping it from using data/wifi (which is only way to get rid of it since you can't uninstall) this app is like a super annoying "random timing pop-up ad" (usually in game apps) that is a part of using your phone. Randomly opens a full screen page at any given moment, which a lot of times it will close the app you had up. I.E. If you are on a gaming app or music app will close them out completely.

It sucks. I do not want it on my phone and it keeps installing itself. It is invasive and makes me want to change my service provider. It recommends itself just before I am about to press enter and reinstalls itself. It's becoming less annoyance and more harassment. It has now overridden my disable and comes up whenever I turn my phone on. AAAARRRGGGHHH!!!!!

Complete waste of space and dangerous to have on the phone! I find this app useless to be honest. It shows up unwanted on my screen Everytime I try to use my phone and it is irritating to try to exit off of it because the exit button is tiny and on top right corner edge of the screen. If I had an emergency and had to call 911 I wouldn't be able to get to because of this annoying app! And to make it worse it came with my phone and I can't uninstall it!!

app seems to have a mind of it's own! very annoying. cannot uninstall from device. every time I open the lock screen the phone goes to this app. Ive turned that feature off uninstalled any updates, cleared data and cash, denyed all permissions, forced the app to stop, and disabled the app and any app notifications, and refused automatic updating, that works for a little while but somehow it will start doing it all over again.

I feel that I am being considerably generous giving the 3 Star 🌟🌟🌟 rating that I have given for this review. Considering Metro PCS is used by the masses, I expect more from them. To begin with, the whole layout is ABSOLUTELY confusing. For the longest time when ever the application would randomly pop up, as it so often does, I really didn't know what it was. I certainly did not realize it was a news application. It honestly looks like a big annoying, I mean really annoying ad. The whole layout as I stated is just off.. For example; when trying to scan the articles for something that may interest me personally I am completely distracted by the various adverts that bombard the application itself. Frankly, it seems that there are many more adverts then there are actual news articles. Which is ridiculous in my opinion. What makes matters worse is when u go to click on an article link, the link itself is incredibly small and more times then not I find myself clicking into a advert rather them the article link itself... The news links SHOULD BE EASY TO CLICK ON WITHOUT ANY WAY OF GETTING DIRECTED TO ANY OTHER PAGE,LIBK,ADVERT ETC. MAKE IT MORE SIMPLE PLEASE.. Also one more issue I deal w/pretty much every time I am using the app itself is the inability to click back either a page at a time or at the very least to the previous news articles. Instead I'm forced back to the Metro News app home screen. Why? So much of the time I want to go back a page or go back to the previous article because i wasn't finished w/reading something or it has info I wanted to go back and check out later but I'm redirected all the back to the home screen which wastes a lot of time. Over all, I'm really disappointed with Metro PCS & its attempt at creating a news worthy app. I would like it much better if there was ORGANIZATION, EASE OF USE, less of the bombardment of ads that take up most of the space as well as TOTALLY ENCROUCHING ON THE ACCRUAL NEWS ARTICLE LINKS WHICH IN TURN FORCE U TO BE DIRECTED TO ADVERTISEMENT PG RATHER THEN THE ARTICLE PG. NOT AT ALL ACCEPTABLE.. Look i underhand having to put ads in the app, which trust me i totally accept as part of the ability to use the app at no cost to the customer but having some organization about it and not allowing the flow to take over completely would be much more appealing as well as MUCH MUCH easier to maneuver while in use. Those are a few suggestions and my peraonal opinions regarding this app. I know I complained a lot but I'm only being honest. If u did not notice i did in fact rate it 3 stars and thats because i do not completely dislike this application. Actually that's not the case at all. I wouldnt bother using it as often as i do nor would I bother rating it either. It would be a waste of time for me to do so. By rating it and explaining my thoughts, issues, opinions I'm in hopes that things may improve. Any improvement is better then no improvement right.. Lol.. Sooooooo... Let me end it on a more POSITIVE note.... I'll end my review with what i do like about the application.. I want to make sure and let ppl know that I am pleased with the selection I have to choose from. I know I'm guaranteed to find news articles that interest me any time I am using the app. That is fact and i can honestly say i haven't been let down so far,the selection is pretty good even great at times. So kuddos for that. Also there have been minor improvements to the app lately which is making me feel optimistic that the app will only continue to do so.. I'm hoping to change this rating to a 5 star rating soon. Lets see some organization, some decluttering of the ads and create an ease of use environment for the user so that a 5 star rating is a no brainer... Thanks hope I was helpful..

I chose a 1 because of a pet peeve I have..... I find a story I'd like to read and choose that story. Now here's the problem, when I hit the 'Next' button, the page will pull up along with these stupid ads. Ok I get it that ads are a part of the experience. But when the ads stall during the download and I decide to go on the the next slide, I end of touching an ad instead of my story because suddenly the ad drops right into place where my 'Next' button was. That bothers me so much.

Digital "junk mail." So annoying! I went into the settings on the app months ago and clicked for no notifications. Not sure what happened, but a week ago it started popping up every time I open my phone. I have gone into the Metro Zone app, Google Play app to "manage my apps", and phone settings. How the heck do I make it stop. Its the most annoying 2 seconds of my life. I think it's absolutely ridiculous how phones have permanent apps that you can't uninstall.

I really enjoy some of their articles. That being said, all of a sudden I get this little pop up box full of ads overlapping some of the article I am reading. Also, I see a lot of the same articles on the page keep coming up, some are very outdated! Well they asked me to update but also to rate! I took 1 star away as it has been awful due to reasons stated above. Metro PCS is the BEST! Just went thru hurricane Ian and I was the only one in my family who never lost service and even had internet!

The ads in the articlss are strategically placed so that you click them by accident. The article you click on is usually titled incorrectly. Clicking through 47 pages of nonsense, and still not getting to the page that the cover photo shows is frustrating. The horoscopes will say the same thing on different signs. And the app opens every time I open my phone. Like, really? Photo articles are cool, though.

keeps popping up as a malicious virus. uninstalled lets see if it works. Metro needs to look into this. I like metro. I have been a customer for a long time but since it merged service isn't the same. Needs alot of work. Customer service needs alot of work. GET VIRUS PROTECTION. This app is worse then before it just keeps crashing after the last update.

every time I pick up my phone I have multiple notifications and news alerts from this app. the majority of the time they're just BS notifications. I've done force stops on this app several times, but it doesn't do any good, they just keep comin. I've even tried to uninstall it, which is typically simple and straightforward, but not for this app, now it has the option to update or open, the option to uninstall is gone...

To be completely honest, the app has many good informational features like weather, current events, & etc. The problem lies within it freezing/ locking/ buffering & you can't squeeze finger into the top right corner so inadverdently you select for the app to open up. Clever, but if it's an emergency call or whatever it isn't right that you have to close it out on screen & go to your app usage to clear it out so the device can operate at high speed for multitasking.

This app is horrible. It popped up on my phone, after having the phone for almost a year. Every single day, I have to disable it, multiple times per day. It disrupts my entire phone, from phone calls to charging, to my other apps. It re-enables itself, and causes my other apps to malfunction. If I'm on the phone while it re-enables itself, and I can no longer continue hear the person on the other end. The speaker phone won't work, the headset doesn't work. There is no way to permanently disable.
