Most of my gripes with the recent updates have to do with the new UI. First, the old icon was much more aesthetically creative and interesting, the new one is boring and very lacking in creativity. Second, previous versions of the app the homepage included all the various genres as tiles that you could browse through. That's all gone, browsing is accessed via the search function and all the tiles are gone, with genres being reduced down to a very few choices, many of which overlap. The one thing that hasn't changed is the inability to automatically set up a queue or playlist. If I'm going to follow a creator, I'd think it makes sense to automatically add their new material to my list whenever it comes out. All that being said, Mixcloud is still my go to app since it's still the only fully free and ad-free streaming music service around. Yes, they now have a freemium feature to help support artists, but basic functionality isn't hamstrung if you don't sign up.

Solid 4 for sure, bordering on a 4.5. Your Android app needs some improvement. There's a lot of glitches that happen over and over, I'm not going to go through them here. If you care, you can contact me, and I will gladly fill you in. I listen to all music on this app, and the playback is phenomenal. It's just the app that needs improvements.

I've always enjoyed mixcloud with no problems until the past 2 months all the sudden the show that I listen to is being interrupted every few minutes I have to go back open up the app again to get it to play. constant interruptions makes it impossible to listen anymore to my favorite show. I've checked with my cell phone Carrier to make sure it's not an issue with my provider or phone and from what we can tell it is not. I've reached out to mixcloud about this and have had no response.

Great service, love the content and the app is... Decent. It's got it's glitches, it'll crash from time to time, not very often tho. The album art often doesn't display correctly on the "now playing" screen when switching to the next or previous mix in the queue. If the app is "minimized" while a mix is playing, when the app is brought back into "focus", rarely will the cursor be displayed in the correct position within the mix. It's just little stuff like that. Overall, I'm glad to have it.

They really need to fix the app. The website experience is fine but mobile experience is terrible. Extremely buggy and crashes all the time, won't stay open, won't load searches, too many things to list. I wish this app worked better, it used to be ok but has gone downhill rapidly. A shame since so many DJs radio stations etc use this and I like being able to subscribe and get extra features and support everyone but hard to do that when mobile experience is this bad and unusable.

The Android mobile app is trash! Constant playback issues. I keep getting and unexpected error occured, please try again. I get this error on all 3 different Android cell phones with excellent Internet connection. Two of the three cells are running Android 12 and the other is on Android 10. I've tried 5g data and wifi and I keep getting the same annoying error. Reboot the phones, uninstall and reinstall the app, and cleared cache all to no avail. Highly disappointed. I switched to SoundCloud.

Thanks for finally fixing the install problem. Now I can listen to my favorite DJ's. Reading some of the recent reviews it seems there seems to be still some problems with the app. I haven't used it enough yet to see if I have the same problems but will upgrade my review after I test it out more thoroughly. Updated 10/8/18: This one of my favorite apps when it comes to streaming music. It is basically the best when it comes to listening to House Music!

Great service, trash app. I'm on a Pixel running the gold standard of Android, and have used the app on a multitude of phones. Same issues everywhere. Won't remember my position in a mix, stream freezes constantly and won't recover, live mixes need the phone to remain unlocked with the app in the foreground, buffer is very small, doesn't register that I've subscribed to select until I restart the app.

I've been uploading and using this app for quite a while now. It's a good place to upload mixes and listen to them on the go. However, recently the Feed and New Shows tabs both show blank most of the time. I open the app and see my feed, but if I make any other clicks in the app they dissapear. I can get them to come back if I force close the app, but it would be cool if this app worked so I could scroll through shows.

Something is up with the app lately. My phone is Bluetoothed to my cars audio. Whenever I try to use Mixcloud lately, my phone and audio system keep trying to connect with each other unsuccessfully. It only happens with Mixcloud. I have deleted and reinstalled with no successful fix. I have to uninstall the app just to get the attempts to connect to stop. It even disrupts my smart watch connection. Used to work just fine.

I used to LOVE this app, far more than any other streaming app. This was exactly what I needed to get through papers and homework, a session at the gym, or just cleaning around the house with the kids. But now? I hate it. Every single track stops playing, somewhere between 2 minutes and 4 minutes, EVERY TIME, without fail. I've deleted and reinstalled, cleared cache, even started paying for premium service, and nothing has fixed the problem. The Mixcloud team needs to address this.

After many years of use, the functionality of this app is continuously disappointing. I love the concept and the variety of music, but it has never functioned smoothly for me on a variety of Samsung phone models. To the developers....please invest in the quality of the app experience, you have such great content available. I would never even consider paying $2.99 for select because the free version doesn't work properly.

I've just discovered that the mixes I listen to weekly are available (for free) as podcasts. I can finally uninstall this terrible app! The app is getting worse over time. It now freezes regularly, and when it does decide to play music it loses track of how long it has been playing. This coupled with the inability to play certain tracks multiple times or track backwards has made using the app very frustrating, to the point that I barely use it anymore.

Firstly, I love the mixcloud service. It is one of the best places I've found for live electronic sets, usually good sound quality for live sets too. My critique of the app is that in my case, it was having a not shutting down problem. No matter how many times the app is closed it still runs in the background constantly, only way to stop the play controls from keeping popping up in notifications is to restart phone. Hopefully you get the bugs in your app fixed, love what your service provides!

Good mixes. But the app is inconsistent. I have followed the directions from mixcloud on their site, and their app is still a lagging battery hog. It has this weird thing also where it flashes to the sign on screen for a split second and then goes to the app. There's something definitely wrong with it. It's a shame because the music is very good.

BUYER BEWARE! Before purchasing any subscriptions, be aware that Mixcloud has a terrible buffering problem! (Edited) I have discovered that the 'buffering' appears to be a caching issue of some kind. About every 10-30 seconds the stream will stop and show a still frame of the video that was played earlier, then pick back up. This is happening on several test devices, iPhone, android, Chrome, edge, wireless and ethernet. This is a coding problem not a bandwidth problem.

Really cool! They work as the middle man when it comes to DMCA/copyright. Highly recommend having a set planned so you have a track list ready. Reason being, once a set/show is finished and ready for upload, you can set Start times for each song. Which brings us to listening/playback on the app. When listening, your cover art will have the track name and artist where you set the start time. A small but cool feature that's worth the work.
