One of the few players that actually has a full size album art view in the now playing screen. It would be nice to have support for embedded lyrics. The player seems to automatically fill in album names for songs that have this field blank based on folder names, which gets really annoying. Would be nice to be able to customize the layout when casting to a Chromecast enabled device, such as displaying more of the title.

Sony, are you crazy or are you mental? Stop shooting yourselves in the foot! Where has the feature to dl metadata gone?! It didn't always identify tracks properly but it was better than nothing, and 100 albums now have the cover art from a Liquid selection podcast. Can't add new podcasts now either. Albums split up. But...with headphone Auto Optimisation on my Sony phones, it sounds divine. World beating sound quality. Typical Sony, utterly brilliant but needlessly flawed.

Everything usually works. I have issues with the album groupings. Most of.my albums don't have this issue, but for a significant number of albums, they get randomly spilt for some reason, and so you have two identical albums listed separately for no apparent reason. I have tried to rectify this fixing the music information, but this rarely works. I have also tried going back to where I copied my music from onto my microSD from and still have the same issue. Help, Sony?

Rated down to one from five. Please fix the equalizer. I've been buying Sony phones in the last 10 years, because I think they have the best Music player and equalizer. But since I got my 10 II with the Android 12 update, often when changing songs the EQ crashes, and you have to re-enable it, or either the music will blast on full or the lowest volume and you can't change it until you restart it. Needless to say it's quite embarrassing when your phone is the music player in a party.

I have been an Xperia user for over a decade now. They're ideal for my various requirements and my experience with them has been positive. I particularly enjoy the Sony Music app - but there is one glaring problem. There's no continuity. E.g if you get a new phone, you can transfer everything over, but not all your stuff in the Music app. You could have spent hours organising playlists etc, only to find that on the new phone you have to start all over again. A simple sign-in option could help.

The reason for 1 star, can no longer download album info and art work. I have to edit all track names individually. Also I have some albums copied into the music folder that don't display in the music library. Recently purchased an Xperia 1 VI. No equilzer, no option for studio, club or concert hall. I listen to a lot of music that the songs will play into the next song. Sound dips between these tracks, did not happen on my previous phone. Would like an update to fix this issue.

If you are one of the 17 people with a Sony Xperia phone it's probably because you want a headphone jack and a microSD slot for your huge music collection. This app is the best free, ad-free, gapless playback media player I've used. It was nice when they had the gracenote license, but that's long gone. I keep my metadata pretty meticulous anyway, so it's not a big deal I guess. I've been trying out other music file playing apps for years. But I always come back to this one. It just works.

this is a very good app and I have been using this app for ver6y long time for all my previous 5 Sony phones but now I have issue. I am no longer able to cast my audio to dlna music system as I used to previously. I can cast through other app which I don't like. Please fix it!!!

I love the app but It needs to stop choosing pictures from your album randomly to use as art for your music, and the feature where you could download meta data for each song needs to be brought back, it saved alot of time having to rename every single song. Other than that is perfect!!

Classic 'how to destroy my fully functional software in one update' type ish. Please, just please fix this. Can't play a song without the app freezing for couple seconds.

this used to be the best music player in terms of sound quality on regular headphones and is the reason why i bought an xperia. there are now better music players out there. Sony has a lot of work to do to compete with others

Latest update broke the perfectly functioning app while adding nothing of noticeable value. Worst of all - the widget now only offers a 4x1 option, why take away the 4x2 we used to have?

The most recent app update is horrible. App worked ABSOLUTELY FINE before. Now when scrolling there is a severe lag. When going to the next screen there is a lag as well as all the information propagates and its VERY NOTICEABLE. Would have given it 5 stars previously to the update.

Sony and their mobile products are sliding down hill. No longer have a pre installed photo album and now trying to set album art on music never works. Due to me not knowing what the hell extension I'm supposed to save it under. It used to be really simple.... Select photo crop and save. Now it asks for an extension of which I have no clue. Can safely say I won't be buying another sony mobile phone unless they change a fair few things.

Used this for years with an Xperia XA2. Problem now is that I have the Xperia 10 vii. You can't select your own image for the artist or album now. The process is there but when you select the image you are taken straight into the image editing app and can't save it to the Music app. Any advice?

Many audio files (m4a) sound choppy, where same files sound completely fine with different players and on my previous phone (Samsung music player). Also support for more audio formats is limited (wma etc.). Otherwise, the player is decent and sounds good with the rest of the files, but it would be great if the above issues are addressed and if you add support to obtain album art covers.

I've used this app for years. I loved it. But my old xperia phone was busted, and I can't add album meta data via the app to my current one. This was one of the best features for someone who doesn't stream music. This is weak. Really weak. I have a music collection on CD that I've saved on my hard drive to put on my SD card. I want music apps like we used to have. Is that so hard?
