works fine. submitting a claim is a pain. keeps signing me out when I switch to another app for 10 seconds to screenshot my receipts. also keeps forgetting the provider who I've submitted 20+ claims to, so im constantly having to add them again

It's basically just a delayed balance statement, for any actual details, the application is not the right tool. It also spams your email with telemarketing level financial advice which you cannot unsubscribe from.(2024) It now asks me to update my review and has way more notifications to dismiss. (2025)

It does not appear to give the option to take a photo of prescription receipts. They have to be entered manually and individually and that is laborious. Also unnecessary if you could upload a photo image instead. Don't like.

Use this app for submitting and managing benefits from my employer. The app is extremely hard to navigate and work with compared to the previous benefit manager's app. I'm glad it saves my employer money by discouraging employees from filing benefit claims. Years later, it is more of a pain than ever. Technology improves, but not this application.

Not impressed so far. Keeps wanting me to allow access to my location so it can search for providers near me. I don't want to allow location access and I already know who my providers are, I just want to add them to my 'favorites' but the app won't allow that without me granting location access 😑

my insurance just switched to this company and a bunch of my expenses have to be filled in by hand and mailed in which is not something I had to do with my previous company. this is so frustrating as it is something I will have to do monthly when there's an app where I could do this all online! please update your policy on this for recurring expenses.

There is no option in the app to give feedback about the app (only phone numbers for questions about benefits and investments). This is a big piece of feedback about the app that Sunlife should get some eyes on: In the benefits, coverage information section, it is missing"Dental." I can't check how much I am covered for. It includes coverage information for Medical, Vision, Drug. No dental. I used to be able to check it. 🙏🏼

update- no longer can use because my Samsung Galaxy 8+ battery lasts longer than any cell model. mobile apps ignoring our rights to have access to services. Cheap insurance provider as in reimbursement arent better for customers. Stick with manulife. App n Layout needs major improvements to reduce clicks to destination and be more intuitive

i don't want notifications. every time i log in i have to say "maybe later" to update settings. just stop, it'so annoying. if i want notifications i will turn them on. i also only go in to the app for benefits, i dont want to default to investments view. lastly, i don't want to be questioned on whether i want to rate my provider EVERY time i make a claim. especially if I already have. this isnt an everytime type of thing if I'm seeing someone regularly.

The app doesn't show some coverage info compared to the desktop version. Submitting a claim is more complicated than needed (I've used other apps with a much better app and claims process). The 2-step verification is redundant on the mobile device. We should be able to mark it as an approved device and just have a password.

They claim you can do everything through the app, but the app has been experiencing technical difficulties for over 2 weeks now, so is useless. I wish my employer had not switched. This kind of outage never happened with the previous provider.

something new broken every time: lately, it's impossible to add new providers through the app because you can't circumvent the request for location permissions (which the app definitely doesn't need). I called customer service and was told this is a known issue with the app and to use the website instead. so, totally useless.

it's okay for the most part. a few glaring problems password doesn't store correctly, keeps getting combined with my email somehow. my phones password manager still works but because of this it keeps trying to update with the mangled version hard to navigate, impossible to find dental info constantly asks for push notifications every time I open it. I said no because I don't want them stop asking.

no option to decline certain things. it's always yes or remind me later. the drug search functionality is borderline unusable. if I type a word and press to enter number, he attempts to find the drug even if I'm not done typing. when looking up the drug information of a drug, the information is displayed in the incorrect language. I'm using the app in French and the information displayed is in english and when you want to go back to the home screen, you have to be ready to press back often

If I could give this app zero stars I would. It is next to possible to find benefits information. When I search the coverage I am looking for nothing is returned. When I click on the links that are suggested as 'popular' it says I don't have that type of coverage, even though I do. So frustrating and never seems to get better.

One of the most annoying apps I've had to deal with. I feel like it's profitable for them to make it more difficult to make a claim so they make it impossible to find anything. 2FA every time to log into the app. Does my insurance have higher security needs than my bank? Edit: also doesn't save drafts so if you start a claim and then the session times out you have to sign back in and start from square one. Everything is painful with this app.

The latest update really screwed up the App. Much more difficult to use because things are hidden. I set it to use biometrics to login. Next time I used the App it wanted a password again and no sign of biometrics login. It will probably take a bunch of updates to get it working well again. Now I can't even select biometrics as an option (I won't turn on.

Criminals. The way they calculate "reasonable and customary amount" is not consistent across medical services or companies that they provide coverage for. They basically just pick a number out of the sky that isn't based on actual cost of services so "100% covered" never actually means 100% covered. The app itself is fairly easy to navigate and submit claims but their policy and coverage is sub par at best.

Usually works fine for submitting claims. But lately when entering a new provider, it doesn't allow you NOT to share your device's location. Cannot enter it manually, and the search doesn't even work since at the time you're submitting a claim you're no longer at the provider's office. Some quality of life improvement suggestions: after submitting, a button to submit another claim; remembering custom duration from the last claim, ex. 45 minutes for massage; receipts are pdf documents, not photos

The app deserves 0 stars. Every time I try to log in, I get a message saying "Oops, something went wrong on our end!" Very convenient that your app doesn't work right before the deadline for submitting claims. A bunch of scammers and pirates. Highly do not recommend signing up for Sunlife if you have the choice. What a waste of my employee contributions. Save your money and your time and find a provider that will actually give you the option of getting reimbursed for your claims.
