Good app, but it would be better if it included sites affiliated with NPS (Like the North Country Trail or related BLM/NFS sites). Even if they were in their own separate category, or something. Also, there's a UK national park and a Canadian national park listed for some reason? Weird that that's in there, but affiliated sites aren't. Great app altogether, though!

Do not understand why you have to be standing in one certain spot to verify. Have been to several parks and can't verify when there. Also wish state parks and national forests had their own app. Seems worse since the change. Doesn't verify when in the park. Can not even see where I am in relation to the app pin location.

App is outdated and missing MANY National Park sites (i.e. National Monuments). Additionally, the badges verification process requires you to have location services operstional, but many locations are cell service limited. So if you don't open the app at the location it will NEVER get verifed!!! Real piece of work. App is more driven to SELL! BTW App doesn't have developer contact info/capability in the app...big No No! Give users a way to provide feedback!

Downloaded this app for a recent National Park trip but the app was super overwhelming in terms of design and content. I couldn't figure out how to do what I wanted the app to do, and I'm honestly not really sure what it's intended to do besides throw the Perks feature in your face. Not giving a lower review because maybe it's my fault I can't figure out the app, but I do like the idea of it.

Essentially a fancy coupon-clipping /affiliate fee-earning app wrapped in a tiny amount of actual content. Edit 3: GSMNP may be *meant* to show an install button, bit it 100% doesn't. And if the individual parks aren't bundled, why would you already have changed your website links for the individual parks to point only to the main app? That makes no sense.

The absolute best National Park guide. I have 2 other apps on national parks and they are no where even close to the information contained in Chimani. This is the only app that you will ever need to find and explore the National Parks. They break the park into categories (bike, hike, auto, dining, etc.) And they break the different parks down too (historical, monuments, seashores, parkways etc.) you can find exactly what park or interests you easily.

This is a very nice and comprehensive app about every national park service affiliated site. I really enjoy all the information. My only wish is that you would make it keep a grand total of all the NPS sites visited. I guess what I'm saying is keep to running totals 1 the separate parks you've visited. And the other a number of visits, including the repeat visits. I like to be able to tell people how many different parks I've visited.

Sorely lacking features. I need to know if dogs are allowed and at what parks, not all allow them, and then was hoping to be able to search for those closest to me or see how far certain parks were from me and this app does not provide that. It's very basic information that can basically just be googled, there aren't even more than one photo for each park or visitor photos etc. Only thing that really interests me is the bookmarking and trip planning.

Really disappointed with the inability to get the detailed guides for many of the National Parks, they were removed a few years ago with a promise to update and incorporate into the consolidated app...yet no return and years have passed. I purchased the Lifetime membership but as time passes I am not sure why. I cannot use it for any of the NPs in my state.

New update has made app difficult to use. Links are broken within the app. You used to be able to see all National Park sites color coded for visited/not visited on one map without having to zoom in. Clicking on map points brings up a blank box. An app that used to be a great tool to plan trips with has now become useless because of this update.

I've been looking for an app that will help me track visits to public lands of all kinds. Chimani is perfect for that! I love that they are now adding state parks and they are already including national forests, wildlife refuges, and monuments outside the park service. The only suggestion I would make is a live map feature that let's you see what's close by on a map. This may already exist and I just haven't found it. Regardless I will be using chimani for all my visits going forward

Clicking on an activity in the Texas state park listings links one to the national park system. There is a map of state parks for Georgia but not AZ or Tx or .... . These are just two issues I found. Not real helpful if one wants to see what is nearby your location. If you know where you want to go you don't need this app. If you're looking for where you might go this app will be frustrating.

Loved the app until I got a new phone (Pixel 4 XL). Now the app crashes when opening it and the only way to get in the app is to uninstall and reinstall it. Makes for a very tiresome process when going to many national park units. Update 4/16 - Thank you for fixing the app. I can now close the app and it open it again with no issues.

Wow did this app get unusable. It used to be the best app for showing NP Sites on a map. I guess the developers feel that they always must be working on something even when it means taking a perfectly good product and driving it in to the ground. I mean my God, all people wanted was a map of national parks. The addition of national forests and state parks was cool and useful. But all of a sudden it's become nonsense. Like verbal diarrhea in app form. (Edit, ok the map is back. This is awkward)

I love the idea of this app. A big problem is checking into other parks. It never seems to give you credit even if I'm physically in the park. Another problem is that it never seems to save my data. It used to let me save stuff but it doesnt work anymore. When I put on location to see if there are other parks near me it does not show any parks at all! One improvement after fixing the problems is perhaps indexing by state. So far it only does it by category (like a park or a seashore).

This is a pretty good replacement to the original Passport to National Parks app but I wish there was an easier way to enter a date. It would be great if you could just type in a date instead of having to hit the back button in the calendar. I like to have a complete list of the parks and dates visited in my phone for reference and some of my dates are from the 60's.

I have to drop this down a star from my previous review. It's impossible to put the cursor in the box for my email address in the Nikon contest form, despite entering my name, reading the rules and privacy notice and checking the box to confirm that. My past review: Very convenient for planning trips to the many National parks and monuments in the U.S.

This app has so much potential! But there are a few things that drive me crazy! First, it is SUPER buggy. It sometimes takes 2 or 3 tries to record I am at a park. Second on my profile page, under # of parks, it ALWAYS says 1! Ugh! If # of check-ins can be accurate why not that?? Finally, PLEASE separate the places i have visited by category! I want the number of national parks separately reported from monuments, historical parks etc.

I really like this app, but the check ins to verify are buggyband sometimes crazy. If you are in the park, you should be verified, not just in a specific location of the park. Like RMNP. Only verifies on the east end of the park. Just returned from the mighty 5. Verified in each but was disappointed to see only 2 when i returned home...i even double checked when i verified, as its happened before. Great idea, just needs some tweaking

I love the idea of the app, however you can be in the heart of the park but you don't get full points because you have no signal. Or you can be in the middle of the park but it's not the area they choose for check in. To the Developer - I normally check in at the Visitors Center when I get my passport stamp. For example, when I checked in at The Visitor Center for Fossil Butte, it said I was not within the radius. My phone location is on and set to precise location.
