I don't usually leave reviews, but this section is flooded with questionable super-positive reviews that is VERY suspicious. This brief app experience I had was so disappointing, and they don't tell you up front that there's a 100 word max. Literally any other text-to-speech app will be better than this one, and the speech is good enough to not bother with Neural Reader.

The word limits are far too low for this app to be helpful. The more you use it, the more you pay, which very quickly makes it an unacceptable cost. I also didn't see an honest and up-front cost breakdown before downloading, but it seems you can read 100 words as a "guest", 300 words once creating an account, and any more requires that you drop cash. So unless you're ONLY interested in having it read one paragraph to you, don't even waste your time downloading this app.

Pretty disappointing they charge exorbitant rates for a monthly fee and put limits on read time it also won't read a articles you put in in succession so you have to manually select each article after it plays the only positive is the voices sounds nice wish I knew this before I paid for a subscription I would like a refund seeing as I've only used it for 30 minutes before I found out its nothing more than a fancy money vacuum...

Neural Reader is a fantastic way to have content read back to you. It's great to put it on while you're working so you can listen to your work. I often listen to podcasts and audiobooks, but I find it hard to focus when doing another task. This is an excellent solution for me.

FAKE REVIEWS. Chose this because it was rated 4.7, but after reading a couple reviews I realized that, hoo boy, they are sooooo fake! Even with the paid version, you have to pause a reading before changing the speed, and it seems you can't change the voice without reuploading the text all over again. I'll have to keep an eye on this company and make sure they don't charge automatically renew my subscription after a month!

This app is a lifesaver! I am a transcriber, but I don't have all the time to do the transcribing manually. This app has allowed me to drastically reduce my turnaround time while improving my accuracy and quality. I have used it to transcribe interviews, webinars, speeches, and more. I would highly recommend this app to anyone who needs to transcribe anything.

I'm a research assistant for a pharma company, and it's my task to look for medical journals related to our studies. Some journals have more than 50 pages, and I'm not always in the mood to read through all of them. So, what I do is I use this app to read to me the content while I'm eating, drawing, or working out. The voice coming from this app is so clear, and it pronounces medical terms correctly.

My terror prof in International Law always gives me more than a hundred pages of cases in PDF, which I need to digest every week. If I read it manually, I know I have to go through the hassle of printing it since I don't want to stare at my computer screen for so long. Neural Reader allows me to read through the pages by narrating to me the facts of the case. Extremely helpful.

I'm a homeschooled student and I would love for this to be an app I can work into my studies but the word limits completely prevent me from being able to use it effectively. The image to text is also no-good. I took pictures to be translated to text and it translated clearly, but all the paragraphs got mixed up with each other and some lines were completely skipped altogether. The voices are great but the service is both non-functional and out of my price range.

I like it. It reads articles, sites, files. It allows cut/paste into a small window to read. It doesn't have a "contact us" feature, but it has a feedback option under settings. It doesn't have upgrade capabilities yet. I ran into an issue and contacted them via email. Response time was fast, efficient, and fair. A bit pricey for students, but this app is worth supporting and great for those of us who read large #s of files. I look forward to future upgrades.

The natural voice aspect of it is wonderful. But the rest of this app was very disappointing. You Only get 200 words for free, then a subscription is required. The prices aren't labeled anywhere in the app. I was unable to use the feature of changing the voice or the speed. There is a free option for more than 200 words, but it is not in natural voice. Most phones already have that feature without an extra app. Uninstalling now.

There are two voices (one male, one female) that sound really good, all things considered. However, there is no Unlimited Reading Subscription option, which I would happily pay extra for as I work 70 hours a week and would like to listen to various things during that time. Also, I wanted to test it out so I only got the Gold Subscription, but to upgrade offered no prorated discount. Great app, terrible options. If you don't read much, it's worth it, but for my purposes it's rather lacking.

I am a literary agent who reads a ton of submitted manuscripts and client projects a month, and initially thought this was a perfect solution. The TTV sounds brilliant, totally normal, and would have been something I could invest in if it wasn't for the pricey subscription cost with limits on how much you can listen. If there was a one-time lifetime fee, I might come back for this app, but until then this is just too restrictive for my needs presently and my search continues.

The 4 and 5 Star reviews on this App are paid advertisements. (Be better, Google!) The transcribe function is useless because it doesn't export to any known file type even though everything is listed in the options. The voices are exactly the same as "Alexa", so if that's a natural human voice, I must be the robot! Also, you can't simply move your transcription into the read as audio column, so obviously this is not a help for visually impaired people.

I cannot possibly describe how much I love this app! It's pretty spendy to get premium, but worth every penny in my opinion and has some decent free options, as well! This is the only AI reader I've found that actually sounds natural, and I honestly like it better than a lot of the actual actors who are cast to narrate audio books! I've been using it as a tool to help proofread the flow and grammar of my novel, and it's been a lifesaver on countless occasions! My deepest thanks to the creators!

I bought several speech-to-text apps before, but none have compared to Neural Reader. I have been using this for about a week now, and I can easily say that I have saved myself several hundred dollars a year in audiobooks that I don't need to buy anymore. I honestly can't believe I went so long without this amazing software.

Part of my work in a pharmaceutical company is to read medical journals related to our studies. Typically, some journals contain more than 50 pages, so I don't have time to read them all. But with this app, I can listen to the content being read aloud while I enjoy my meal or do something fun like drawing or working out. The voice coming from this app is very clear, and it pronounces medical terms correctly.

They use books as an example for how much each subscription tier can be used, but the experience of using this to listen to books isn't very good. The highest subscription tier's max word count is still shorter than the chapters in some books. When you paste in something over that length, they just truncate it and throw away the rest. You can't even listen to one chapter while having it record the next. All that said, the voices are pretty good, so far as tts goes. It's also a bit buggy.

I use the built-in talk back accessibility features of my phone, as I am totally blind. based on the name of the app, I thought I could use it with TalkBack by changing over to this voice through my TTS settings. No. there is only one unlabeled button in the app and that button does not let me add voices to my library. Plus, it won't me to sign up for an account, but doesn't tell me the reason why. horrible, extremely confusing, never would recommend this app!

OMG!!!!! I freaking love this app. I have ADHD and so it's hard for me to focus on books, especially physical books. I have been trying to do a book report for 2 months now and haven't gotten past the second chapter. It is due by Christmas. This helped me so much because I would've downloaded this book on audible or kindle but you have to pay on both, the voice is robotic ( which I don't mind) but before downloading this app, just know that.
