I came here because a podcast said use substance to hear them, but this isn't the substance that I want. Turns out it's not available for Android (yet).

Didn't pick up my substack subscriptions automatically. It's easier to use the substack reader

Too expensive and pushed towards subscriptions. Yet another vehicle to make the rich richer

Deleted all my newsletters and then started rejecting new ones that I forwarded saying the user didn't exist. Also didn't respond to email support.

Terrible . Never had access to the app but they are charging me? No contact info and you can't cancel. SUBSTACK ARE THIEVES!!!!!!!!!!!

I was unable to add anything except recommended content. Does not do what it says on the tin, may not even be a real app.

Works well but the app is unnecessarily large. More than 100 MB when all it is meant to do is display newlsletters?

This is not the official Substack app made by Substack. As of August 2022, Substack does not yet have a mobile app. This app is made by a third party creator meant to help you read substack but, because of that, is likely not going to be the experience that you are hoping for.

Forced Google login. Forced data collection and privacy breaches left and right. Cannot use without signing your life away. Do NOT EVER use this app. It is the biggest scam recommended app I have ever seen.

It just gives you an email address for newsletters. It doesn't allow importing any existing subscriptions. Not worth the hassle to revise all my subscriptions.

With talkback running just after phone starts up it's possible to run newsletters and get talkback to speak the screen selection controls don't work in some cases and in others you go to other websites to do actual subscription. Running newsletters after having run a few other apps produces a silent blank screen with talkback running. Something else wasn't made clear, if you want your subscriptions to land in your newsletters inbox, what email address do you give the website so that happens?

Generally like it, but it needs the ability to share links so that I can save articles to other apps. Without that, I have to open them in a browser then save the link then close the browser window. I'm surprised it's not already a feature considering how easy it is to implement. Edit: Yes, you can share the email itself. But you can't share internal links within it. Also, no option for lifetime membership, price is very steep for such a simple app.

I don't normally write reviews but the amount of atrocious reviews which exist on this app has changed my mind. First, the concept is great. I like separating my main email for important stuff, and the other for newsletters. Second, as a software engineer, I empathize with the forced Google sign up. Alternatives tend to be less secure. However, the app feels unresponsive. I'll delete a newsletter and the inbox list only updates after refresh. Lots of potential. Happy to give feedback.

So As if June 2025 you have deleted my account and I still have until October on a one Year membership you GUYS ARE THE WORSE. Keep the money, I haven't been able to access my account for a year now. I'll take my money and my membership somewhere else. I actually really like this app I'd give it more stars but for the last 2 years I've been a yearly premium subscription member, but haven't enjoyed a lot of the premium perks. I've been charged twice a couple of times, th
