Abysmal. Takes wayyy too long logging in (it apparently tries and fails multiple times before successfully connecting). Takes FOREVER to sync (and usually doesn't show anything new until I close and reopen the app). Images are even worse—showing the filename, but not loading the thumbnail or the image itself until I resync, close, and reopen like 5 times (for only 1/4 of my images to load...). Just use your web browser. This is just sad

All the core features work wonderfully. I really want a basic compatibility layer with plugins though, and an in-app calendar and contact browser would be amazing as well. Meanwhile people who need full features can use the (slightly clunkier) Progressive Web App by visiting in a browser (there's usually an "add to home screen" type of button). Adding the mentioned features would make this PERFECT.

The app needs a lot of polishing. When I go up one level of directory, the back icon is changed to three horizontal bars menu icon and the title also doesn't reflect the current directory name. The built-in audio player is a nightmare as well. Also, the upload functionality needs to pay extra attention to -- there's no progress indicator in the Uploads menu, cannot cancel ongoing uploads and uploading doesn't happen in the background.

It's one of the only fully-integrated self-hosted suites on the market, but it's extremely buggy, slow, and hard to operate. My friends and I have been fighting our server for the past 4 months, and we simply gave up on it for everything except the file transfer. Talk, especially, is complete rubbish. It never gives notifications, takes many, many minutes to load, and doesn't have a desktop app so you're forced to use it in a browser.

Very slow and buggy. Often I can't open any folders for sometimes a full minute, and even sometimes my whole phone will lag and the only solution is clearing the cache on Nextcloud. It does have nice features like auto sync with Android pictures, but it's just too buggy to use all the time and I end up using 3rd party apps or even just the web interface.

Auto upload inconsistent, I only use this to back up pictures and files. I open the app once in a while and I always find thousands of images that are sitting in a failed state or have a sync conflict. When I open the app, the failed ones will automatically upload again but it can take hours to go through the sync conflict ones. The auto upload features need fixed.

I really wanted to love this app but but it's always crashing with all types of errors. The auto update feature only works if you are using less than a thousand small files, then it gets really buggy. I have put many requests in but it seems it's been happening for a while. I am sure there are people trying to fix it but it's not stable for auto update or moving many small image files. I tried the forum and so far no one has a way to fix it. Terrible....

I installed the Nextcloud server on a storage heavy cheap system at home, and between this app and the web interface I have everything I could want in self hosted cloud storage. The auto upload feature is super handy, and being able to set it to upload only on wifi helps not chew up data. Best app and server software I've found. If I could rate higher I would!

The app is great. It's not Google photos, you can't scroll past dates or search by map location, but that's not what it is. It's a free private cloud system and that is awesome. However it crashes all the time, sometimes several times a day when it's not even open. Stuff does still get backed up, but it's annoying to have pop ups all the time that "nextcloud" has stopped responding when I haven't touched it in 5 days.

The app has major problems telling if an auto-uploaded image has been modified. I don't know what it uses to verify, but out of roughly 2200 images and videos, it claims nearly 500 have a sync conflict, and each "conflict" must be resolved individually! It's worth the price (free), but come on, give us an "apply to all" button!

I love Nextcloud server and client software on desktop, both Linux and Windows. It allows me to control and share my data seamlessly across the devices. This App has some issues, some pretty bad ones. The worst of them - the app lock does not work, particularly using device credentials. Unlocking it minimizes the app, so it requires new authentication to unlock, which minimizes it again and again. Uninstalling the app and not using the lock is the only remedy. I am on Android 8.0.0.

Good beginning attempt, but still a long way to go. I've had to disable the 'Auto Upload' feature because it does not work consistently. Frequent 'File too large' errors on small files (e.g. 2.4MB), and only allows images. I now routinely backup my files manually. Although a pain, it's workable. Additionally, the Auto Upload feature is not a 'backup' feature. It is a sync feature. If you delete the file locally, it is removed from the server, which is also very frustrating.

Really good and useful app. Auto upload works great, even when offline it will retry and upload as soon as you're connected (you'll still get an error, ignore it). I use it with the "move to nextcloud folder" option, so I know what's been uploaded. My issues with it: (1) auto-upload won't upload existing pics (many reports on this) (3) useless and stupid slow photos tab (4) multiple selection is one by one only (5) no bidirectional folder sync option. Still, pros outweigh the cons, recommended

App UI looks great. Pretty easy to use the client; however, there is no logoff option for the risk-adverse user. The ability to close the app so that it doesn't show on the screen, and just as important the process list would probably make it more security-convenient; as my girlfriend is the user with the complaint. I sort of agree with it, but we do lock our phones manually, and if not, automatically after some time. Great app, beautiful UI, otherwise! After comments from the NextCloud community and the developer I learned that there is a way to use the fingerprint mechanism to ALSO UNLOCK the app, even after you have already unlocked the phone with whatever method. I am changing my rating to 5 stars!

Nextcloud as a service is amazing, but this mobile client is not so much. The interface is rather unstable and I encounter crashes or bugs while moving from image preview to image preview. I actually have no issues with auto upload, but sync leaves a bit to be desired; you can't configure the location of syncs. Every sync will land in a single directory, which is inconvenient.

Super disappointed. Crashed within seconds of install while deleting the 9 stock photos preinstalled on the server. Moving on, I enabled sync for my photos, but only for NEW files. Apparently that checkbox does nothing, because it proceeded to upload all my photos (tried this twice, same result)... Then the photos page wouldn't load, so I had to go to "All files" to manage. It's too bad, because the web client seems ok, but I'm going to need a different solution for photo backup.

Worked great for about a month. Migrated my server over to new hardware and mobile app failed to update the folder list. Removed the account and recreated it in the app and now it is an endless loop of logins. Looks like it logged in but no folders or files show up, then after a minute it just jumps back to the login screen again. Regular login fails, app token method fails. DavDroid and Notes app login perfectly fine and do what they are expected to, but no access to my files anymore. Disappointed to say the least.

This could be really good, but needs more polishing. Using this for photos is so ridiculously slow. Instant upload is OK, after many bugs, it mostly works now. It would be nice to set a delay so that photos and videos are uploaded immediately, but are deleted from local storage after a user defined time. Or keeps the most recent photos up to a set folder size limit before removing locally.

Client is fairly solid, I just wish it allowed me to specify two-way sync on specific folders. that would be an amazing feature for the mobile app, really useful for tools like Obsidian! Also wish it automatically registered media files as you download them, but a simple media scanner tool takes care of that issue. Overall fairly decent.

I love the concept of nextcloud. Although I am not using a paid version of it, the free version that comes with my domain name for a year is fabulous. It is really slow, this app, on my phone. Sometimes I want to bypass the app And just call the url From google chrome because it moves faster. There's a lot of functionality that's not available on the app That is available on desktop aside from it moving so slow and the fact that I have to tear down to update. I'm pretty happy with it.
