The app works quite well. It works as intended. Facilitating my move away from the dreaded YouTube. My only comment for the devs is to make the video player go into album mode when clicking on the full screen setting. I usually lock my phone in portrait mode because I hate the auto rotate setting, however all of my video players besides Odysee make the videos play in album mode regardless of my settings.

Far better than lbry app. Needs some work. The media controls are in their own notification rather than in the media spot on top of the shade. Also, the app will dump your current playing video and your entire queue if you pause out of app and let it sit too long which is horrendous to deal with when you have to stop listening to a video for a minute only to suddenly realize your queue disappeared.

Odysee has overall been a surprisingly good experience. The web version seems slightly better than the app, but the app is plenty usable. Performance wise, it's almost as good as YT, and definitely preferable to Rumble. Wish more creators would hop on board. Pros: better ads, privacy, and freedom from censorship than YouTube. Easy to upload content from your YT channel. Cons: casting doesn't work well at the moment. Sometimes slow to respond, but not as bad in my experience as others say.

This app has potential but needs more refinement to be a solid contender to YouTube. My main complaint about the app is it doesn't handle minimizing well. There's a delay if I minimize the app while playing a video. The worse issue is the app resets if I leave it minimized too long, which is annoying if I want to watch multiple videos by the same channel. If these two issues were fixed, I'd give this 4 stars.

I want to like Odyssee, but the platform and app need a lot of work, if you can even call it an app. I'm pretty sure that this is just a WebView. UI elements overflow my screen. Battery life is atrocious. Background audio is super choppy. Of course, there's also not much content. This has a long way to go to catch up to YouTube, Vimeo, and others.

App works half the time. When it does work it is slow (1995 56k modem slow). When it doesn't it is just a black screen or the videos are black screens that never play. I wish I could say more about content other than roughly half of what I searched for didn't exist on odysee which is actually pretty good considering they aren't going to have everything YouTube does yet but I didn't spend much time looking on an app that didn't work. Desperately searching for YouTube alternative. Please fix

Content pretty good. App itself sucks. I tried to disable all alerts/notifications to phone. I get alerts for things I am not subscribed to. I tried help and also searched settings. I can disable email alerts but not to my phone. App is kludgy and buffers in several instances. Not as user friendly as it should be. The primary thing going for it is valid content that YouTube blocks.

As a software engineer, I can see this has the potential to be an amazing app, the UI is well thought out and organized intuitively. However the implementation is poor, slow performance, poor responsiveness, and videos that keep buffering despite a good internet connection. In short it needs refinement by a good team of software engineers

App is functional. It has some really cool features, and is one of the few platforms that I can see a future for. But we have to jump through some hoops to get there though, because there is one glaring issue with this app. The delay. The app is quite laggy. UI movement & interaction seem to be a bit sluggish at times, even though I have quite a powerful device. In my experience, it takes a full second for some actions to be fully processed, which is a bit annoying. Other than that, it's great!

Needs more optimization on Android. I have a Pixel 6a and when I turn up the volume. It will speed up the video with distorted audio. The the frame rate of the video player is always 30 Frames per second or lower, so I would love higher refresh rates. Also, when I Cast videos to a Chromecast, video won't play automatically in a queue. I have to manually play them individually.

Jeebers, I love the content and having a option that's not YouTube but you have to make a all that actually functions. Idk how you managed to make every possible thing the ap does not work at different times independently. I usually have to launch it twice to get it to load at all, search is useless so I have to use the website, download just says it's unavailable most of the time (although it sometimes still downloads after) and when you get to casting....... Nahhh it's not doing that .

Easy install, video play is vivid and seamless. One feature truly appreciated is I can pause it, minimize it, come back and it resumes at the point I left it. Rumble by comparison, is very frustrating on that issue, and hates to be reversed a few minutes or a lot. It takes forever to resume play. Odysee has become my goto player!

Getting better but still stalls and sometimes freezes when leaving the screen for another app or background play. Love the improvements, especially the mostly fixed screen rotation problems. There could be a little more distinct separation between other onscreen controls and playback slider because it's really easy to jump to the end of a show when trying to change speed or resolution or rotation. Thanks!

Glad the app is finally here and off to a good start. Couple healthy criticisms, the search prediction could use some tweaking. Some searches I've had to type to the very last letter before anything related shows up. Before that it shows results that aren't related. I like that the audio keeps going when I leave app, the option for audio only or a small video player to drag around on screen would be nice. Keep it up. Looking forward to replacing YouTube.

Odysee is a very promising alternative. But it still needs some work yet. The main issue is everything is very slow to react. Long enough to make you think you need to click on something a second time. The other issue is the casting feature isn't working great. I have been able to cast video but other times it won't do anything at all. Or I'll get the bar at the top of my phone where it thinks it's casting the last video cast as soon as I open the app. Looking forward to continued improvement.

While I love the content you can find on here, the app itself needs some work. I have to constantly restart the app because it'll freeze halfway through a video. Can't really comment either becase the text is invisible for a good minute before it finally rushes on the screen. You have to manually press play every time you pick a new video and it runs nonstop in the background even if your phone is locked. I see potential for this app, but it needs some work smoothing over certain features

Pretty nice! Good features & decent performance. I like that many features I'm used to from YT are here including the Watch Later playlist, speed control, double tap to rewind/fast forward, etc. The mini player at the very top of the screen is interesting, though I might want an option to make the video larger, perhaps stacking the buttons to either side vertically. Issues: X button to the right of the mini player doesn't do anything. There is some skipping of the audio while multitasking.

Almost as bad as youtube. I added a pile of videos to my "watch later" list and, not even a few days later, almost all of the videos in the list was "hidden", "deleted", or "removed". I was hoping I wouldn't have that problem after trying to leave YouTube, but it's almost just as trash. The lack of responses to reviews shows that they don't care that it sucks. Edit: It got worse. I remember when this app was actually good. I'm permanently going back to youtube until something better comes along.

Very poor implementation, but good UI, like I've heard others say. Saving playlists does not work. Images do not download for long form content and display black screens or a standard gray one. There is an extreme amount of problems relating to newer versions of Android in which doing anything other than staying inside the app with the screen on results in the video stopping in its entirety as well as the app resetting as if the app was just opened resulting in me having to find the video again

Love that they allow more than YouTube however it's not very enjoyable to use. Half the time when you log in it will not sync so you can't use the playlists which are a pain to put together since it takes literally 20 minutes to browse through what you are looking for to create said playlist. Been over a week since the last time I could use a playlist still not fixed till it is I'm done with Odyssey an do not recommend it to anyone
