Can't disable passport mode so you get clogged up with a bunch of superfluous likes that will never lead to anything. Poor functionality without sub, and the sub is ridiculously expensive. As a result, in most regions people end up using this app less and less so your recommended pool of people actually near you dries up rather quickly.

I created a profile but was never able to log in, it just kept going in circles saying my device was a new device when it's not (google pixel phone, nothing crazy). I downloaded the app to try and use that to log in, and then it told me my account was banned. Waste of my time. If you can't even get the account creation portion correct, then I doubt I would find any appropriate matches through this service. Deleted.

This app is basically unusable unless you upgrade to their premium plan. You get about 5 free swipes every 12 hours, and now they've made it so that every time you try to swipe on someone, a pop-up appears attempting to persuade you to upgrade to premium, and if you reject the offer it simply won't let you swipe. This app has been rendered virtually useless.

If you're looking to answer 500+ questions to see maybe 40 people and then only have access to your "passport" which is pretty much exclusively people out of country, then look no further. Spent a lot of time setting up my profile to only see a handful of people and have no access out of them. I have 30 likes I can't see, and considering how fast it happened I have to assume it's bots to get you to pay 40 bucks for a month of premium. I'll update if anything changes, but the outlook is bleak.

Lots of women who "haven't been on here for awhile". Hundreds of messages and almost no responses, maybe fake profiles or people start profile and never get back on. The fees are stupid I paid the upgrade fee and then all the sudden I try to like somebody and there's another upgrade fee and it says it was $10 a month and when I paid it it turned out to be $44 a month very misleading

I have used OKCupid for 8 years. It astounds me how they continue to degrade OKC by eliminating valuable features. Most recently, they have eliminated the question weighting, the marking of acceptable responses, & question comments. Previously, the matching algorithm was one of the best. Now, it's worthless! The app no longer takes weighting & acceptable responses into consideration in its matching algorithm. You can no longer explain your response with a comment. Match Group has ruined OKC!

Can't type in the text box correctly anymore with my s24 plus. Whenever I correct part of a message, the cursor goes to the end of the message after each letter typed. Makes it impossible to correct any message mistakes. You guys need better QA for newer devices clearly. This is a top of line phone. Get your sh!# together guys.

I've been using okcupid for about a year now. I would say I use the app a couple times a week for about 15 minutes or until the swipes run out. I havent made ONE solid connection yet. I have 99+ likes yet never match or "miss" a match. Once in a blue moon ill match with a suspicious account (usually an Asian woman) that seems too good to be true. Its rather annoying. I don't see any incentive to continue using the app. No reason to pay for anything on it either.

This app used to be really good many, many years ago. Was able to find meaningful relationships. Now, just like tinder there's too many fake profiles, and matches selling crypto, preferences don't work, it shows the same person(s) you swiped left on almost everyday, a match would dissappear seconds after sending a message, or not show at all, and how does a profile percentage decrease when you answer a question the same? Doesn't make sense.

I think that all in all it is the best app of matching information and giving a better idea of who the person may be. But not being able to make distance a deal breaker without paying seems odd, since personally I can't travel around as easy but see no reason to pay just for that one feature. Edit: they added a like limit but still show people out of state even though I have my distance set to 10 miles. At this rate I'll probably stop using the app.

In concept this is one of the better dating apps. You get to paint a better picture of who you are through prompts and questions, and see the same in matches. In practice, this app suffers the same fate as all the others: 99% of the profiles are fake. Even the "verified" profiles are somehow faked. It's a shame that none of these apps can figure out how to control that, because nome of them are worth the paid subscription until they can fix this.

I've been using OKCupid for years, and the recent update has been a real letdown. They removed features without even notifying us, and the app is riddled with glitches. I keep getting repetitive notifications, and sometimes my messages don't even send. It feels like a scam—subscribing just makes likes and messages vanish. The premium features are a joke, showing me distant matches that seem AI-generated. Despite their detailed matching system, it's frustrating that I have to pay for basic stuff.

garbage. signed up for a month membership they charged me for 3. still could barely interact with anyone (shows minimal people in my area). then renewed the membership automatically (never signed up for that), so now I'm out $180. avoid. there's much better dating apps. the algorithm is terrible and a lot of old profiles. oh and their customer service number is a disconnected New york number.

Not optimized for Android, beware. Even with being up to date this app is buggy. cursor will move around at times when typing messages, app will crash comepletely("it's not you it's us" screen) forcing me to close the app completely and reopen. It'll say I have intros but they don't show up. And last but not least(off the top of my head) I see other users liking messages sent in chat which is a feature just not for Android. App is up to date, this company just dont care about android users.

OkCupid used to (over a decade ago) have a really good system that focused on profiles and having you select both your answer and what answer you want from a match and how important that is to you. Now, it's picture-focused swipe-culture system that dumbly matches identical answers only and with equal priority. Very disappointing to see an original intelligent system decline into being exactly like every other app. Old OkCupid blog posts explain in detail why you should avoid the new version.

App has changed since the last time I was on it & not for the better. As soon as I installed it this time, my phone started blowing up with "likes"which I could only see if I paid for the premium upgrade. When I did so, turns out all these "ladies"were from the other side of the world,if not AI generated out of someone's server. Not a one was from my local area. Not to mention hearing nothing back from any of them. Needless to say, I have no interest in renewing any subscription features

After couple of paid subscriptions, it is my personal opinion as an IT professional, this dating site is a major scam. The is designed to deliver a small amount of messages and likes. As soon your subscription expires, the algorithm will flood your email inbox with many likes and messages from other profiles. The trick however is you need to upgrade to premium membership. Once you upgrade, you'll find the likes and messages magically disappear. In my book, this is a scam.

Absolutely not the quality it was 10 years ago, "likes" are often people completely out of your country or preferences, notifications of matching with people I've already matched with every time I open the app, people I've sent messages to reappear in my "liked" section and I'm not sure if the messages ever sent. It's a mess now. The app is glitchy and unreliable.

I've used this app now for more than ten years and I appreciate the explorations and discoveries I've made about myself. With their most recent update, which I didn't even have the opportunity to opt out of nor even notified, they disabled or deleted the 'say more' feature in the 'Questions' portion of my profile which leaves me to conclude that it's even less likely to formulate any connection. My content has been deleted! This app and it's content do more to cocreate division than connection.

The app continues on a inward spiral to a black whole. After removing many features that differentiated it from other apps, like ability to add context to one's answers, pictures in profile sections, etc; the latest update makes the already poor messaging system worse. With the latest update (2024/06/06), typing in the msg box is frustratingly annoying. One can't edit text in the middle of the whole text box beyond a single character because the cursor would immediately jump to the end of text.
