This app never gives correct location info & not sure how a phone can detect an accident if your phone is securely in a pocket or the car doesn't flip. Also you need cell service so if you are living in the Midwest you are pretty much screwed because there are so many places with no signal so this app is useless in so many ways. Having OnStar working in the car with the OnStar buttons is the only reliable service approach. 2014 cars won't have any safety features due to this app being useless.

"We are experiencing technical difficulties completing your request, please try again (500)" I get this error message every time I attempt to register for the 3 month 1 plus 2 sample of the onstar service and get to the page where I complete my address. This error message comes up every time. I have tried restarting my phone...didn't help. I reinstalled the app at GM's suggestion. That didn't help either. It still hangs after entering my address.

I downloaded this app because it seems as though Life360 wasn't working between my Android and my daughter's Apple phone. So far I've had no issues and it seems to be pretty accurate. I like that she also has access to the extra services while traveling. One thing I would like to see added is the ability to see location history. Life360 gives a brief overview of where you've traveled. Thanks OnStar!

Have not been able to add one family member. The app keeps wanting them to create an account & does not give the option for the code. 😤 I have tried numerous times. Called customer support & nothing worked. Finally got an email with a video. But it does NOT work like the video shows. I am BEYOND frustrated!! I am so done with this app. 😤

Doesn't work at all. Onstar is being phased out in my vehicle so it was suggested to try this as an alternative. And I would try it, if it did anything besides asking me to start a free trial... which I have done... 5 times in the last 2 days (and with the help of an advisor). Each time it says my trial is activated, but 1) I never get the email confirmation I'm supposed to get, 2) when I open the app again, it still asks me to pick my country and sign up for a free trial.

This used to be great. All of a sudden I get notifications that my subscription ended and we need to pay $15 to use even though I pay for premium On Star. I called for help and was told there are "no issues with the app and I should just "delete the app and log in again ". Based on other reviews there are clearly issues with the app. Get it together, On Star, and fix this. We pay a lot of money monthly for it not to work.

App would be nice if it worked. Geofence notification has worked only 2x in 6 mo. The main locator often does not work, sometimes for a few hours, sometimes a few days. We often uninstall and reinstall which sometimes fixes it for a day or so and is a hassle, since we have to reset our app settings each time. MyCadillac works every time but disappears when our car phases out. This app doesn't do what the car did. We need reliability. Bring back the car plus fix this. We would pay to update car.

It just doesn't work like it should. The idea behind the app is a good one. The OnStar agent made it sound really appealing for the price. BUT! But, the family tracker rarely works. It shows you a person's location 11 hours ago and nothing in real time. Clicking refresh gets you "Please try again" every single time. It does occasionally refresh, at random times, without you doing it. By the time it refreshes, the person is 600 miles from where it shows them being. Don't waste your money.

Used to be able to see my family member moving throughout the map. Now I have to close the app and go back in to see where they moved to. Frustrating and disappointing. The app used to be awesome. Not sure it's worth it anymore since it doesn't show movements live. Would love to know how to fix this. Our locations are on, all permissions granted, and app is updated.

On my Samsung Galaxy 20Fe Android phone, the position of a person I'm tracking freezes frequently in positions on the map where there should be no stoppage and where cellular or satellite coverage should not be restricted. I have to close the app, restart it again, and the app picks up the trackee again. But, it often freezes again. App is nice in theory, but execution is not good. Raises doubts about the app's ability to know you're in an accident or to tell 1st responders where you are.

Unimpressed with the app thus far. Basically wants to use your location all the time so it's going to burn battery and doesn't even show the location of your vehicles (assuming you have the appropriate OnStar plan) so it's strictly for tracking mobile users from what I could tell. I'm sure it has its use for folks just want tracking family members all the time. I wanted to use his app to track my cars, not just people. Will uninstall.

Mostly great, responded wonderfully during the only accident we have been involved in. But nearly every time I check on the family, at least one person's location hasn't updated location in hours or even days and retry gives only an error. They have their phones and the phones are on, so this is very disappointing. And I have restarted and even uninstalled and reinstalled.

It worked great when we first installed it back in the summer. We were able to track our son when he was on a long distance road trip. The "real" or "live" tracking was awesome. We had no issues until around September and then the app stopped showing "live" tracking. Sometimes it would show our son at home when I knew he was at school. I like to see my spouse and son moving on the map while they are traveling. I contacted OnStar technical support and spent an hour telling them the problem is not our phones, it is your app that is not working right. Please do not tell me to uninstall and reinstall, because I have done that. A week after my call to tech support where they could not figure out the issue and had to submit a ticket, we received a call stating the issue had been resolved. We saw movement for one day and then our icons stopped moving on the map. We have to keep refreshing it to see current position. PLEASE FIX. Thanks.

none of the promised benefits of the app works. I want My Cadillac App back with OnStar on my car! Have been uninstalling the Guardian App every couple weeks and restarting phone a few times a week to try to help. Within 2 minutes of uninstalling this time, it stopped tracking again with all phones home in the same room. We have newer high-end phones. It's frustrating and unreliable. How will it work in an accident?

Looks to be good in the future possibly. Just downloaded it and already have bugs such as no plan information (I subscribe to highest plan), disappearing pictures for family & there's only a limited number of locations you can add to the map. Right now this would be to just login & hope it works in a crash but for location of family group, Life360 is ahead, and free. Next, you can use Google maps to see friends & family's locations. This has great potential, looking forward to what it becomes!

USELESS! Zero! My location tracking quit working. It had worked great for first few months. Contacted OnStar, submitted all info requested, kept getting emails from different people in supposedly different departments promising help, but it's still not working! Reports about this issue go back over a year with no fix. If you expect the app to locate and send help to a family member it can't because it locks on to one location and always thinks they are there! Never updates after this happens.

The idea behind this is good, but it cannot be configured to allow only limited access. I do not want it constantly running in the background or always accessing my information. We need to be able to select when we want it to be on and have access. Also, during setup, it keeps going forward when I want to backtrack and check something. Okay. I tried using it. First time in 4 years to need service and they can't locate my account! Pure garbage!

I added a family member and I can locate them and sometimes the app will actually follow their movements down the street. That seems to be an intermittent feature. I cannot seem to set up location alerts or use any of the other advertised features. I have not attempted any roadside or emergency service, but I don't have a lot of confidence those would work.

Issues! The location feature has never worked properly and the map now does not show my husband moving. I have contacted Onstar numerous times over the past 6 months with no fix. They keep telling me to do the same thing over and over (uninstall and reinstall, check permissions) which doesn't fix it. The customer service is atrocious. We keep going around in circles with no solution. To the response below, I have the updated app and the uninstall, reinstall still doesn't work. I give up!

App is VERY invasive and annoying. I don't want notification ALL the time. Especially when I'm not even close to my vehicle. Why do I need my location on when I'm not driving as well?? Doesn't make any sense. There is also NO reason to record my physical activity with my phone. Companies use this for instance purposes to deny you coverage for things. Sense evil an manipulative.
