The premise of this app is solid. Download offline maps and know where land ownership changes. I like that but the product has a long way to go. The interface is not all that user friendly with way too many options that very few people would find useful. Most importantly, however, it doesn't allow downloaded maps to be transferred to external memory (i.e. an SD card). This means I was only able to store about three maps on my phone. This is a HUGE limitation I hope they fix soon. Could be a great product with some improvement.

It would be nice if you didn't treat Premium users like free users with the constant pop-up to upgrade. I'm sure it's hard to imagine but I only need one state, and I don't need constant harassment to upgrade when I'm already a paying customer. This is why I have canceled in the past and I will most likely cancel again as Basemap doesn't always try to up-sale paying customers.

Customer support was excellent! They answered my question is a very timely manner. I love the app and use it often. I am a real estate broker and the ownership feature is excellent. I highly recommend that all associates use it. I use it when mapping ranches, hunting, scouting, as well as just cruising the mountain backwoods by my cabin in SW New Mexico. I will never get lost.

Great when I needed it, no longer need it. Jumping through hoops to cancel. Telling me to cancel through Google play, Google is telling me I don't have any active subs. Why in the world does this app or any other app offer to take our money via sign up online but make it damn near impossible to cancel. If you can purchase online easy, make it just as easy to cancel. Extremely frustrating.

Incredible tool that helps you remember right where that spot was and how to get there. Even how to get out. Never had any real problems being in offline mode and my pins and tracks are always right where I left them. I wish lake topography was on here especially as it's a paid subscription, but I believe there's a separate app for that and to be fair, not really what this apps for. 10/10 satisfaction.

I have used OnX since it first came out and have been an elite subscriber for 3 years now. Although it is hands down the best hunting mapping app, I am updating my rating to a 3 star from a 5 star because I still have to use other maps when I really need to escout a new area in depth. OnX has been falling behind with updating satellite images of major hunting areas (Northern WI big woods is a prime example), property owner records, and certain state/federal public land boundaries.

Great app for the last couple of years. But now that I've moved, the imagery of my new in-state home neighborhood is not available. Google Earth does has relatively current imagery of the area. OnX wants you to pay $99 a year for extensive coverage that I, personally don't need. Since the imagery is the same in both OnX packages there is no need to upgrade or continue.

Love it, as a new hunter OnX has been the most valuable tool I have. It allows my to put eyes on the area I would like to go, add the 3D , and recent imagery and it is amazing at setting real world expectations for your route. Being able to set waypoints for solid glassing areas and camping spots is a sweet feature. My hunting partner and I have been sending waypoints to each other in preparation for the upcoming season, really getting into fuller utilization of the system.

When it works it's ok,constant problems and freezing, lacks android auto ability(been promised for years), lacks ability to default colors based on date. App seems more concerned with advertising, weather features and overall system cluster than having a quality reliable product that works for hunters. I will likely be swapping after this subscription runs out.

Been using this app for several years now, and it has been one of the most useful and awesome things to use. Has helped me get out of some sticky situations ranging from getting around accidents on closed highways, to finding amazing routes through the mountains. Offline maps is excellent, and being able to pinpoint and Mark locations along with tracking your route is also a great feature. It is great for Backcountry exploring/hiking too, not necessarily just for hunting.

I used to love the app, but a lot of the property info is outdated. Have noticed multiple properties listed under old owners, structures missing, and previously cleared plots with woods on the map. Our own property is listed under the previous owner. Have looked for an option to update the map but there doesn't seem to be one. Also, the constant ads for elite are annoying when I already pay for premium

Was a little intimidated by all the available tools but once I spent time setting up my preferences I honestly can't believe I waited so long to get the app. The huntable areas around me are tightly wedged between private property and weren't always my first choice because of access and property lines weren't clear. Now, I have no hesitations using these areas because the access points and property lines are at my finger tips. Recommend to anyone looking to expand their range.

It's a great tool. When it works. But Every time there's an update it freezes and crashes as soon as I open the app. And that usually goes on for a few weeks while there are 5 more updates to work out the bugs from the original update. It's very annoying not having access to my main mapping system for weeks or more while guiding. Just wish it was always reliable.

I keep getting ads for this app that say it will show dispersed camping and public lands. it will show government land in some places (and it's any government land including neighborhood parks, so not helpful for knowing where to camp), but it doesn't even show that in some areas. apparently you have to pay for the highest tier to see the functionality before you can even test the app.

More deflection, SMH. UPDATE: Another round of satellite imagery updates for Google, Bing, HUNSTAND etc but nothing for onX Az. Fires have changed my hunting grounds, yet Im still looking at 2013-17 imagery. Sad. // 11-2023 Good app with a lot of good features. WORST app for satellite imagery, 2-4 updates behind equally 4-7 years out of date. Terrible. I paid for it, so Ill use it for the year, then switch to Huntstand, which has current up to date satellite imagery plus all the good features.

I use onX often. As part of my scouting, route building, and I love the topo/hybrid option. A barometer forecast would be a great addition. My compass is seems to be off quite a bit even after recalibration, so I don't get to use the rangefinder option. (My hunting buddy also has it and his compass is pretty dang accurate) Great app, but others have the barometer forecast and a compass that works with my phone, so I will probably switch.

I have canceled this thing for the last several months and yet they are still charging my bank account and in fact they just charged it again. And I checked my subscriptions and I don't have one to this. This wouldn't be a problem except I'm on a very low fixed income and $15 is enough gas to get to town and back not for an app I don't even have cell signal to run anyway! Update! They verified I'd barely used it and refunded three months; amazing, thank you! :)

The app probably had the best map data, but it is terrible at displaying compass info, with a clumsy compass mode being the only option. Also, the offline mode is bad, forcing you to select individual tiles to download that don't update on their own. It doesn't have any kind of seamless downloading. There are very few settings to customize the user interface, so you better hope you like the defaults. That being said, it runs will and doesn't crash.

I have been using this app for years. It has so many features that are helpful and critical to outdoors pursuits. The GPS pins are generally specific enough to even mark trap locations. I use this app not only for hunting but also for foraging wild edibles as well as metal detecting. If I could have one wish, it would be to add an icon or two for metal detecting finds. I recommend this app to anyone who needs a good app for outdoor pursuits.

One of the best apps for hunting. I've been with onX for a couple years and have tried other apps like it and in my experience onX provides far better mapping info. It's a seamless experience with the ability to download map areas for offline use so you don't get lost when you're deep in the woods with no service.
