Two months in, our organization loves it. Call quality is MUCH better than we had with 8x8. Plus we have 2 users for less than we were paying for 1 user there. One of the best and most affordable options I've found after lots of research. I do wish call transfers were available on the Standard plan, (it IS available on the next pricing tier) but that was by no means a deal breaker for us. We might even make use of the Call Directory to eliminate the need for it.

There are times it works great, and others that I can't use it at all. It will never pop on my screen that a call is coming through, I can't send text messages at times without exiting and then re-entering the app. Update: And now, I've stopped receiving notifications when a text or call comes in. Overall a terrible app for business purposes.

Easy for teams to manage all texts phone calls and notifications in one place. I especially being able to easily record phone calls for reference in the future, as details can be easily lost in a long phone call. App has been getting continued updates and improvements. Very convenient since the updates have happened. Hope they continue to improve and get better over time.

Fellow senior Android dev here. This app is currently broken in specific versions of Android. Incoming calls pickup, but OpenPhone immediately shows the "Disconnected" screen. The call continues in the background with an ongoing notification, allowing you to hang up. 90% of the time this is all you need, but some robo calls with one-time codes require you to press a key, and you cannot reach the keypad screen to press anything, since the UI already flagged the call as "disconnected" somehow.

We used this app for about a year and it worked pretty well with the occasional glitch. Their latest release, in addition to having some bizarre terminology and weird ergonomics, does not use the phone's proximity sensor on any of our staff's phones. This means that when you put your phone next to your ear, the screen doesn't turn off and your ear actuates functions on your phone. It's impossible to take a phone call and impossible to hang it up. This has been going on for weeks.

Terrible now. I would give this 5 star but a recent update made this app unbearable to use. The app has just become worse. It Has more dead space during calls for some odd reason buttons have been remanaged for no good reason. And Slower much slower for some reason the app now takes anywhere from 8-15 seconds to open a page. Before it took only 1 and less. This is terrible for productivity while on the phone. Hopefully the app will be sped up or just downgrade it and stop making changes.

I really want to like this service, as it offers some features that I cannot get with Google voice. However the app is so terrible that I'm forced to look for another service now. All of your calls both missed and received, calls that you make, text messages, and voicemails all show on the same screen and aren't separated in their own sections so you have to scroll through everything to find something in particular. Call logs don't update without refresh. Can't delete calls or texts. It's bad

This app is moderately functional. I find it drops calls often and the connection is poor. With the latest update, I am no longer able to listen to my voicemail. I can only read the transcript, which is always hilariously wrong. The text box for typing texts is really small also. It's important for me to have a separate number for my business, so I'll give the app that, as it does provide me with a second phone number.

First off, if I go into the phone and choose to leave a rating through the settings and select that I don't like the app, it won't let me leave a review. strike one. They don't allow 5-6 digit phone numbers to text you, but that's not always true. strike two. App shows notifications, but when I click on them, the app won't show my latest messages or missed calls. strike three. this was good when I first signed up. I've been watching things go down hill since. 1* until it's all fixed!

I'm living abroad for an extended time and I wanted to save my US phone number that I've had since 8th grade. Hearing some ambivalent-sounding things about Google Voice, I sought out a company that's more actively managing their product and could help me with the transition. It's been nothing but a delight, they've handled the porting easily, and they've made what could have been an annoying process manageable and pleasant. Their customer service is prompt and knowledgeable. It's sort of astounding US carriers have overlooked this for so long, but it's their loss. Thanks to OpenPhone, I've got a great solution.

It's great for being on the budget. For just $10 you can make your small business be more professional and have tons of great features. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the notification system for calls doesn't ring on the phone but as a notification instead and would be nice and easy if it just rang like a normal call. Unless that already is possible then I have no clue how to set that up. Other than that it's solid for the price.

Basically, the customer support is incredibly responsive and helpful, and you can tell a lot of work has gone into making the UI really snappy/user-friendly. For me I just wasn't able to use it because it kept either not showing text messages that people had sent me (i.e., they would say "did you get my text?" but it wasn't there), or wouldn't send text messages I sent to others. I'm totally sold on everything else, though, so going to try again in a few months to see if these issues have been addressed. If so I'm definitely switching over to OpenPhone!

So far I have been very disappointed. Almost nothing works as described. It seems to offer a lot of nice functions (that I don't need). My calls cannot be answered, most outgoing calls do not work correctly with multiple attempts, text messaging is hit or miss. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. The incoming text alerts don't work most of the time. And forget about using your contacts. They have to be imported using an Excel spreadsheet or typed in one by one. THEN THEY DONT EVEN WORK.

Have been using this app for 2.5 years! A ton of glitches. Cannot click pictures that are sent via text to enlarge and/or zoom in. Cannot receive picture messages from time to time. Missed calls because app does not ring. Cannot upload pics from phone to send via text from time to time. Additional update: Tech support DOES NOT respond to text messages!!!!

At first it was great but over the past year it's become increasingly more glitchy with tech issues, they don't make additions or changes on requests or suggestions and now they've removed the ability to get help from a human directly and quickly. Cheap quick option for a virtual phone and is easy to set up,so that's why not just one star. But it's definitely not suitable for growing businesses, and they show no signs of working toward that goal.

There is a lot to like about OpenPhone. It's super easy to use, the features are pretty solid, and they have some key integrations such as Zapier. However, the app is unreliable. Lots of bad connections and funky behavior such as it continuing to ring even after a call is answered, long pauses after answering before the connection is made, and randomly dropping calls in progress. Also, they've started making new features such as transfer only available if you pay a higher rate. I hate that game.

Great, feature rich app, that leaves a lot to be desired. Has ability to record all calls, but only within the app, not if call is forwarded to another phone through the menu, or if call forwarding is turned on. If you have the menu enabled there's no option to leave a message. Often times contact updates don't show up between devices. If you're on a regular call on your phone and an openphone call comes in through the app it still rings loudly. And it constantly drops calls...constantly.

This app is such trash. Conversations always disappear because the filter feature is horrible. Search doesn't work either. I'm actively losing leads because of how bad this app is. I need to contact people and they just disappear. They need to have tabs for calls and all texts similar to a phone messaging app. Very basic stuff. Can't wait to switch to Dialpad.

This app is NOT good. Searching for a conversation via name? Nope. Dedicated call / text buttons? Nope... So when I have 35 phone calls and messages on top of say, a text from "Dennis", I guess I'm supposed to scroll to find it? Really big oversight on their part. These issues could AT LEAST be an option that users could toggle on/off.

Tristan Hopkins

The app is promising but has major flaws, especially on Android where client info disappears (while still being present on iOS device, same account.) Thread mentions don't link properly, and and searching numbers should not pull up a similar phone number if the number is not found. This often results in calling the wrong customer. In our experience most of the issues take place on the Android app while the iOS app is more smooth.
