sure it works fine when it works, but there are 2 annoying things about this app: 1. when the session expires, even if the app is in the background, this app makes itself run in the foreground, interrupting your whole experience just to tell you you got logged out. 2. when the developers push an update to the app, this app refuses to let me log in until I've updated, which, news flash, these updates from the Google play stores DO NOT happen immediately. this isn't a website, it's a mobile app.

Update 8/26/2023: it has been YEARS and this app STILL can't figure out biometric or "remember me" login. If I wasn't forced to have this for my HSA I would never go with Optum. This app gives you the option to set up a biometric login and gives the option to remember your password. NEITHER OF THESE OPTIONS EVER WORK. Every time I go to login from my personal device I have to manually enter my password. Every. Single. Time. Clearly they do not invest in their app. Avoid if you have the choice.

Have been using the app for a few years now, but it has been getting worse all the time. Now when you try to open the app you just get a white blank page. Have uninstalled and reinstalled the app several time only to get the same issue. Not only that you put a image of a receipt in and attach it and they dont take it as proof, and make you payback to payment. This is getting so bad. I will have to talk to my employer to have them come up with another company to use.

Zero stars for both the app and the bank. Can't get logged in on the web site, it just hangs on the spinner. Customer service on the phone said this: "Try to download the app and try again. I cant submit a ticket because there's no error ticket. Best of luck!" Verbatim. "Best of luck". Well, the app just wraps the website, so can you guess what it does when I log in? Yep, spinner forever.

it's great when it works. Love the ease of setting up monthly deposits and paying medical bills from my HSA. Customer service is always so helpful. I have encountered problems from time to time logging in or getting the app to work, necessitating the need to call customer service. Overall a really good experience.

Please bring back the ability to add an expense to the journal without initiating a payment. This option was available on previous version of the app, but now it's only available via the website. So now I have to take a picture of the receipt in the app then login into the website to associate it with an expense. I keep my money invested at Optum so I Don't want reimbursement now, however I love the expense journal for keeping track of all my expense for the day I actually take money out.

Not able to upload anymore. Now the app is even more useless. We used to have to send receipts to the insurance company for reimbursement for expenses covered under FSA. Having a card makes things so much easier for employees! NOT. Now a third party has access to our private records, allowing another avenue for hacking them. The card only allows us to use it for covered expenses, but we still have to send in receipts. Except the app won't allow it! Just higher health costs!! Useless.

"Updates" were not improvements. I've used this app for years to help save my receipts. I've never had an issue before viewing a receipt after uploading. Now? All of my prior uploads are distorted and too blurry to read. Same thing happens if I upload a new file. There are no prompts or notices for what quality or size is needed to avoid this issue.

No Biometric login. The Biometric selection in Settings brings you to the Phone's settings, not the apps. It's the only app on my phone where biometrics never works, it always forces a user name and password entry. As far as I can see there isn't even an option to activate biometrics. The app has been through at least three iterations and has never been truly stable. Why even have a mobile app when it's easier to look it up on a PC or laptop?

The account balances listed in the app differ depending on how you're viewing your accounts. The app runs terribly slow and navigation is not the easiest or most user friendly. Optum itself is also lacking in the speediness of funds transfer in the days of instant money transfer capabilities. 3-5 days??? Account activities (i.e initiated deposits) seem to disappear during the 3-5 days. Even harder to navigate past years transactions. But, the website isn't any better either!

This is a terrible app! It would be one thing if the app didn't offer certain features, but it offers many that simply don't work at all. And even if they did, the user experience isn't very good, either. As a comparison, even the FSA system I had for the federal government job that I had automatically connected to my health insurance carrier and I didn't even need to submit anything to get reimbursed. And that's a government system!

This app is terrible. The biometric login rarely ever works. It takes forever to get results on investments, with it never loading in 50% of the time. No useful updates to app in the 2 years I've had to use it. You can not adjust investments from the app. Minimal details on investment portfolio returns. Nothing of use at all, and you have to get statements to gets the figures they should have automated on returns.

1.) Too many login attempts forces me to re-set my password without the option to wait a certain amount of time 2.) On the desktop, your email can act as your username just fine but not on the app 3.) Fingerprint scan doesn't log you into the app automatically, you still have to input your user/password 4.) When I finally was able to log in, the app repeatedly opens to a white screen with nothing on it Horrible app overall

Very bad. One of the top 5 worst apps I've used. Have to reset the password every time. It won't recognize my fingerprint. App times out unexpectedly when in. They don't want people to use the app or just don't care. Call customer service you say? They have no clue. It's like herding cats in a circle. If I used the investing side, I'd be royally pissed at the accessibility issues.

The website and app are clunky and convoluted. Both only good to review balances. When trying to move money from investment to hsa both are nonresponsive when trying to advance to "review" your transaction. I'm highly irritated, I haven't been able to use my HSA funds for months. Now I'm going to make the call to their no-help service. I'm leaving Optum 1st chance.

Update 2. This app continues to be problematic. I have now changed to 1 star. Update. After using this app for a while now, I really don't like the fact I have to change my password so often. I also don't like when I'm set up with fingerprint login, that I have to use password login from time to time but password doesn't work out needs to be reset. I'm downing my original review from 5 stars to 2. Great app, easy to use. Love being able to sign in with fingerprint and view balances quickly.

I kept getting messages after I closed the app saying "logged out due to inactivity". A logout operation was nowhere to be found until I looked under settings. Hmm. Seems this is not a settings activity. So I tried to find a feedback action. Nothing. Hmmm. UI /UX developers: please figure out how to improve these two items. Otherwise, it does what I need it to do.

I have tried to log into my account for the last 5-6 months and each and every attempt has been a failure. I've called customer service twice to see if they can help me, each time being just as pointless as the last. I've tried to log in on 3 separate devices, 3 separate browsers, tried to reset my password twice and none of it works. The folks in support say they'll create a ticket to get this issue resolved, yet nothing has been done for 2 months. I will take my business elsewhere.

Lately the login just spins. Not working properly. Previous: The funds clear from my checking acct yet still 3+days later the funds do not show up in the HSA, somewhere in limbo, every single time. I called the support line and was told it takes time. If I go out of my way to get on a laptop, at least it shows the contribution a little earlier being initiated. But this mobile app doesn't even show it acknowledges the contribution until a week later. Very odd.

I was trying to reimburse myself for qualified expenses. I got logged out several times for inactivity though I was entering provider data and uploading a supporting claim document. I was also thrown out with message App has a bug, clear the cache. So I cleared the cache. Then I was thrown out with message App has a bug and I should wait until the developers fix it. This is really unacceptable when I have available funds and can't use the app to transfer them, though that process seems dicey
