Signed in with google account, got right into the diagnostic stuff! It works perfectly, does speed tests in detail with content speed and peak speed, and does everything else it says. Awesome app :) Thanks devs!!!

Speed testing is very inaccurate. 1 GB connection. Both Ookla and Google speed tests show 800ish mb/s download. Orb shows 300mb/s. Same issue at work. It is fun to use, but not a reliable tool.

Terrible user experience. Back button not working. It's impossible to register an account using only phone: When switching to email app to read registration code, app changes to welcome screen after return.

I absolutely LOVE this app. I am a network admin by trade and I have installed this on multiple separated networks within my house to maintain awareness of uptime and any unplanned interruptions to my service, which has been happening more and more often lately from my ISP. 10/10, would recommend

Gives a pretty neat dashboard that monitors latency and packet loss, and provides different speed tests to run and observe your connection. I wish there was a bit more explanation or detail on how the measurements are performed (i.e., how does it differentiate latency between device -> router vs router -> ISP?). I suspect that the metrics might be reflecting my router's SQM configuration in some of the reported latency, but maybe the methodology is aware in some other way.

More elaborate than Speedtest indeed. Would be nice if the app shows more details about the connection: external IP, DNS IP, Wifi info. Bug report: the button "Give us Info" is not working. It just opens the Orb web site.

This is an awesome app. It really helps to better define what is going on with your Internet and WiFi connections. As a result of my using this app, I got a better resolution from my ISP company. My Internet is now more stable and a better experience - all as a result of this app.

Looks interesting, but I'd like to be able to create an account and the sign-in page is in Turkish ...?! (Firefox browser, nothing else on my phone is in Turkish.) It would be no big deal to just translate the page, but the fact that it's even doing this suggests this app isn't quite up to speed yet

Mixed results across 3 devices, more often than not I get an alert that a device is offline. I connect to the device & the device is fine, but the Orb app still thinks it's off or lost network connection.

Great app, and nice to see I can simply install an Orb Sensor as a Home Assistant add-on. I would like to see further back into the statistics history. Can't wait to see what's next!

As for me the app doesn't work in the background so Reliability score doesn't show anything related to how things are really going and affects overall score by decreasing it; When I try to register an account the app switches me to an in-app browser and when I try to get an email code and switch to my mail app Orb app instantly forgets that I tried to register and brings me back from browser to Settings section

I love that I can see all my Orbs from my phone and remotely trigger a speed test. I'd love it if there was an option for the Android app to run in the background and provide some periodic stats also.

Initial account creation is wonky. similar to issue already reported on a Samsung S25. This instance is on a Pixel 7. I'll be uninstalling the orb app until bugs worked out. Walking between rooms in the house caused a flood of notifications on the pixel 7 that it had "disconnected from the orb network". Wireless signal remained strong and no disconnect had happened.

Great idea, nice design, poorly implemented. It's an app designed to monitor your network connection, but it will only do so if it's active and foreground? Why not design it to still monitor as a background app?

Very good so far, no issues like I see in the comments below. Would be nice to have a pfSense plugin. Account was created with good, was able to add a Wired and wireless device monitoring both wireless and wired. Can't wait to see what else is planned.

I'm not running this on my primary phone, but on an older android so I can monitor my local Wifi and it works great! I also have Orb running on my Home Assistant system running on ethernet in a closet, then in the Android app you can view the Orb scores for both. This way I can get stats for both Wifi & ethernet devices and know when I'm getting slowdowns it's related to Wifi usage or my internet connection.

Easy to install and use, app finds other orbs on the local network well even without signing in. somewhat unsure how wireless devices connected to an old rural FTTC connection can get scores of 95 and 92, doesn't seem much room to showcase faster connectivity. For example the latency to the internet is 14ms and I've had connections before where it was more like 2ms, which is surely much better...

Not Recommended — Drains Data and Disrupts Phone Functionality I've used this app for several weeks across both rural and urban areas, and I can't recommend it. It constantly runs in the background, delivering nearly identical scores regardless of location. Worse, it hogs mobile data and severely impacts my phone's performance. On my Galaxy S25 Ultra, I've repeatedly had trouble sending text messages when this app is active. It’s more of a burden than a helpful tool.

Good idea, bad implementation. On Windows if I save it to taskbar so I can open easily it doesn't work, have to remove it and reopen from the program again every time. Even then it doesn't open quickly, every time insisting on checking for updates. On android if I attempt to rename it just says it's failed so Samsung devices have some weird name not the one people know them by. both Windows and Android ones don't then stay open kinda defeating the point in having a 1 and 24 hour option.

installed this on a Galaxy S23 Ultra. First issue I ran into was just trying to set up an account. the app tried to send me a verification code to my email and just trying to switch to me email app it brings the whole app back to the first page so you have to start over again and get another code. had to open the app in split screen after the 3rd time just to make sure it wouldn't do that again. I couldn't get past the set up because it gave me a spinning wheel of death trying to set location
