Slow to load, slow to operate, does not give accurate time remaining info. Works less than half as well as the previous version and costs an extra 10%. Almost like they are trying to get you a ticket. I would completely forgo using this app if it wasn't for the fact that sometimes it is the only thing that allows you to pay when the munimeters are damaged or malfunctioning. Thanks for nothing.

It's hugely more convenient than using traffic meters, either feeding quarters or swiping cards. However, I feel that not being allowed to use leftover time (and money) in a different zone is a bit petty. That means all that loose change is adding to the city's coffers at the cost of the taxpayer. What would be a great improvement is a 'end parking session' option that would also return leftover money to the user's account.

The old app was a lot better, the interface on this app is awful. Inputting time is in a circle and you can't just press "max time" you can double tap near the end and hope you make it to the max time and then press + if you don't. Just don't press too many times or it'll loop around, and you can't press - to go back. Also, can't pay for parking until the next day, the limit is one minute before midnight which is annoying when you're parking to get into the city and want to come back past 12...

The old version of this app worked just fine. The new version is convoluted and frustrating. Much less intuitive and takes more time to accomplish the task. Wish I could return to the old version. Update - the app is worse. The GPS is always off, identifying zones that are a block away but not the one where I'm parked. Yesterday I entered the zone ID and the app said it didn't exist. Checked it 3 times, on the street signs and the kiosk. Still wouldn't recognize the ID number. Useless!

Such a great and convenient tool!!! ..... But it stopped working... things started falling apart when it would not let me extend my time (even though parking rules where I parked allowed for more time) and it stopped recognizing the zones I entered. Then came the constant error messages regarding "connection", "loading", etc. Uninstalling and reinstalling did not help. Come on NYC! Update this app since you haven't since 2017!

At first, the app was very convenient if you only stay for the allowed time but you can't ever extend your time so it kind of defeats the purpose. If you pay at the muni meter, you could reload all day. Recently, the app has been crashing constantly, takes forever to load or logs me out having to keep signing back in. There are times it never loads and then I have to pay at the meter because no one has time to be resetting their phone in hopes that works.

You need to keep money in an account now, can't pre pay for parking, pay a fee to add money to your account, the app sometimes prevents you from paying for no reason, physical parking meters are being removed, parking in one zone is not transferrable to another, and may other issues. This is making parking harder and more expensive. It's just another cash grab.

This app is dumpster fire. It fails to load all the time to the point you have to close out the app and open it again several times, it crashes completely to where it won't load at all, I log in at times where it says no vehicle is tied to the account only to log out and log back in (after reloading the app several times) and my vehicle is there, and I've had to uninstall and reinstall the app a few times to "correct" issues. Everyone in my company is experiencing the same issues, garbage app

This app has a tendency to work and not work. I tried to remotely plug in time and it said the zone would not come up. The app said the zone didn't exist. Even when I came downstairs to the parking spot it was the same thing . I would've gotten a ticket if I hadn't went back to the car. This app needs tweaking for sure!!!! It also wouldn't show me my past sessions.

this re-worked app added a whole bunch of visual effects that simply make using the app more annoying. the app works, so it gets 2 stars. but if they didn't try to make it fancy it would be a 5 star app. like, why in the world does a NYC parking app default to a GLOBAL view of the earth?!? so now I have to go through the effort of pinch-zooming just to see queens. ridiculously unnecessary... and that's just one example. if I could downgrade to the old app I would, despite the user limitations

The first $50 worth of parking was great! Very convenient, especially if you saved the meter number you constantly use. Not being able to replenish after time allotted on specific side (max 1 hour parking) absolutely annoying!!!!!! Understandable but still annoying! Now the app just shuts down on me!!!!! I even tried it in my home with my WiFi and it didn't work!!!!!!😡😡😡 UPDATE 10/2022: Since updating the app, it is very handy....although I have to plug my phone into car, works great!

Terrible. First, One out of ten times, it forgets who I am, or, remembers me but it forgets my car and wants me to set up my car again. Usually closing the app and reopening works, but come on. Second, if you look at "past sessions" the zone number is different than the one you put in. So, if you want to start a new session you cannot use the past sessions to find your zone. You must open the map, and navigate to where you think your car is. Constantly makes me unhappy. Miserable app.

This updated version is the worse thing parknyc could do! Just too many unnecessary interactive features that messes with the efficiency of it's functionality. It went from being like Google to Bing. It also automatically makes corrections on the munimeter number. Once I entered the number and pressed enter only to realize later that the app picked another machine nearby and i basically paid for that meter instead of the one i wanted. This mistake never happened on the old app. Bring that back!

Convenient, but also kind of a ripoff... as an app I hoped that there would be more benefits to it, but there isn't. Pro: can "sometimes" extend the time from wherever you're at. Con: can't change the park zone if you have WAY too much time left on your meter, doesn't have the option to get to get some of your money back if you don't use up your time, and "sometimes" it doesn't let you extend the time on your meter....

Doesn't work half of the time. Doesn't prevent getting tickets that then need to be disputed. If you overpay you lose that money. There will always going to be some money left in the account that can't be retrieved. Bottom line is that unfortunately NY is not trying help the people. Parking is just one of many ways how NY monetize at the cost of law abiding citizens.

Usually pretty convenient but I just paid for a session, received a receipt (didn't screenshot) the session started, and I later checked how long was left on the session. When I get back, I find a ticket on my dash, I check the app and they conveniently have no record of the session at all and they didn't charge my card (I didn't think I needed to check). Will consider updating my review if their customer service takes care of the ticket somehow.

Why can't NYC just use ParkMobile or some other app that doesn't suck? First, it's obnoxious to have to put credit on your account instead of just debiting from your card as you go. They know at some point you'll end up with money left over, which they will keep. Ripoff. Also, I got a ticket when I had paid on the app. I looked it up and this is a common problem. You can contest it, but still ridiculous. Get it together, NY. Your parking app sucks.

The original version of this app was far superior. One of my pet peeves is no longer being able to save favorite locations. And most of all, it didn't charge any extra fees. But it's the only app for meter parking in NYC, so we're all screwed as usual. Another issue is that they would be better off verifying streetnames with info available from nyc.gov/dcp which is more likely to be accurate then Google.

It's great. The reason I took a star off is because it has a glitch where it doesn't let you extend the reservation. It says "something's wrong, try again later", so I have to wait for the reservation to fully expire and then restart a new one again. I already got a ticket because the parking maid was in the area within the 1-2 min. gap it took me to make a new reservation. So not great in that aspect, but otherwise good. Convenient.

Convenient when it works, but very glitchy; lately won't process a time extension (keeps saying the app is not available). Have to wait for time to expire and then create a new session. Sometimes I get logged out, or it doesn't have my license plate filled in even though it's the default. Overall it beats a parking meter, but should be so much better.
