This isn't news. Beyond the weather forecast, this is all click bait, fluff and nosey neighbors posting their gripes. Installed this app, looking for a good non biased news source for the Portland area. After the worst riots ever in the city and protestors burning properties, this apps breaking news had nothing about it or anything related to what's going on. Plenty of info on "great restaurants" and ten great ideas for, fill in the blank. Garbage.

I don't like the interface at all. You can't switch between towns or find specific info. The crime and arrest updates do not exist and the same 3-4 articles are at the top for days at a time. Not happy and looking for another local news source.

Doesn't give up a ton of local information that isn't already found from the local news sites/broadcasts. I do appreciate the gems. Like local business openings, closings, events, opportunities... etc. I also like the other local news in areas that impact my loved ones and their politics, environment.... I do wish There were more pictures. The base white background with black text is killing my eyes.

I keep getting redirected to the app when I click on a patch story online. But the story doesn't open. Instead I land on the landing page. And I can't figure how to search for the article I want. I have a degree in SW engineering. I have no clue how to navigate this application.

Can't search for news articles. I click the news article from the Notification area, the app opens up, but the desired news item is no where to be found. Correct that issue,, and add a SEARCH feature, to make this app truly informative.

Once or twice a day I got news update, it does not pop up often like some other apps. And it is good to get news only from my city. App operates well, UI is smooth and i liked color selection of the titles, nice development and design job.

I think patch local news app is great to have, they keep you up in a local news and more, not only that, they just keep you reading from story to story and I love that!! Keep up the great work I never have a problem with this app at all never have had a problem so I give it more than 5 stars. Let me tell you if I know that there's an issue going on I will go right into patch to find out what's happening in the neighborhood around town or others so I can always be up to date thank you so much!!!

Can't turn on app notifications (slider switch grayed out). Samsung S21 Ultra. It's been like this for about a year with no explanation from app developers. Useless if you can't get notifications on important news.

Well I am new to Patch and honestly I do not recall how I came across any of their news articles. I am glad I did happen upon reading that first article on Patch because since doing so I have defiently been a regular reader in this application. I find the articles well written, very informative and relevant. It seems that they stay up to date on various things and community news as well. So that really helps me to stay informed on important information. I would actually like to have more article options because I find myself regularly reading any and all of their news articles that they offer in the application aside of course the article ads. I never read those at all because I have zero desire to do so..All in all I am pleasently surprised at how much I do enjoy reading their articles hence my reasoning for wanting more of a selection to choose from.. DEFIANTLY recommend this to everyone.. Great Application...!!!...🤗

The latest update now allows push notifications. The notifications are turned on. However, the app is not sending any. Good thing I have email. The app is pretty worthless if it doesn't operate correctly.

The app Does Not Even Know When I downloaded the app and puts up annoying "reminder" to download IT AGAIN. It vibrates, moves around the screen, and, blocks what I am reading. The "news" articles are cute and local. Then a whole lot of ads for houses. Ads are poorly chosen. Repeated and boring.

Local, Regional, Expanding Outward Like Ripples, FREE. What's not to like about NEIGHBORHOOD NEWS? The VILLAGE CRIER ON THE WEB! YES. In 7 months I have changed my mind, broadening coverage is not working. My notifications list only 1 town, not regional and state. It was better before they began to overreach. Too much irrelevant filler and stale posts. An ad for a September event still running in November as a neighbor post. Amateurish.

Very frustrating to use. Push notifications for an article often do not take you to the article, but rather to older articles. Pull down refresh does not bring you to the latest articles. Reply to article feature stops working. Uninstalling and reinstalling offers a temporary fix but then the problem recurs. Contacted Patch support several times, no response.

I used to get my news from a local newspaper's app. I got tired of clicking on an article and having scam ads appearing saying that I had won something and I couldn't clear it from my screen unless I closed the app. I accidently found Patch and I'm sure glad I did. Not only do they give restaurant inspection reports, they also tell what caused the demerits. The news stories are full of details.

Push notification never opens to the story in the preview, and without a search engine, there's no way that I know of to find said story. Most articles listed are from at least 2-3 days ago, and refreshing doesn't seem to do anything. The articles themselves are useful, but the functionality is not there, and the UI very much needs to be updated.

It seems that I stopped getting notifications after the last app update, and I can't manually enable them. Patch doesn't show as an option under Notifications in Settings. When I choose "all system apps" it shows on that list, but it still won't allow me to switch on notifications - it stays greyed out and says "all notifications from this app are blocked." This isn't helpful!

Every back hit takes me back asasaaaaaalllllll the way back to the very first page. Then I have to navigate 20,000 pages back to where I was. Also, I prefer to use Google maps. It won't let me. I HAVE to use their substandard map system that simply does not work. All in all, this app does not connect me with anybody or anything other than raw frustration. I NEED community connection and this is a total failure. Total fail!

App does not work. I installed it, but it died first thing. It asks for your location, and it correctly found my zip code when I gave it location permission, and then that was the end. White screen, nothing to click. No functionality. It wouldn't let me log in with my Google account because it needs your location first, but it won't respond in the screen where you enter location. So, I immediately uninstalled it.
