Excellent after-sale service! I originally purchased German 3 six years ago, then German 4 two years later, then German 5 a year later. I recently had issues on getting connected through my phone app. I thought that was because I had it so long and that my service might have been expired. The representative on the phone was kind and patient. I now have a new version of lessons installed, so that I can keep lerning German!! Thank you for providing ongoing support & assistance!!

I am a subscriber, and I like it very much. This app is good for someone like me. I travel a lot, and not having to look and interact with an app is perfect. Then, at night, before bed, I do the reading and pronunciation exercises. Throughout the day, if I am standing in line somewhere, I might use the flash cards. I am looking forward to trying other features such as the Enrich tab!

The best language learning app! I learnt to speak basic French with proper pronunciation and accent within a week. Their teaching method is incredible and is able to teach you to listen and speak a new language which other apps don't do well in. I've tried Duolingo for years and while it does well in teaching you to read, it doesn't teach you to properly speak or listen which is the most important aspect. Love this app! I'm addicted!

Fantastic app but the Voice Coach can be frustrating. It struggles with some words & phrases in the French course. There are a few where it won't give its own speaker full marks. Voice Coach issues aside, I'm more comfortable speaking & listening after 30 days of Pimsleur's course than after 5 years of high school & college Spanish. My vocabulary feels like it is lacking but that might be where my Spanish education failed in that it was super heavy on the (written) vocab & verb conjugation.

This app makes it extremely easy to pick up a new language very quickly. I have tried using other language apps and this has proven to be the best and most effective for me. I especially like the ability to practice your pronunciation because I can then practice with locals and recieve feedback if I'm being taught correctly. So far the locals agree.

I'm on lesson 16 in spanish 2 now. I have learned a lot. It works if you work it. I try to do a lesson a day and follow up later that day with the flash card portion and the spoken challenge. I sometimes included previous lesson practice. I study 2 to 3 times a day, but I think one could do even better if you could give it 3 to 4; not long, but focused. Overall, Great App with lots of opportunity to learn at an affordable cost.

Background: my wife and her family are Brazilian. The more I use this app the more impressed I am. I've tried many languages apps, but only Pimsleur has helped me make progress learning Brazilian Portuguese. The audio is top notch and include both male and female voices. Too many apps only have female voices. Both are important because in Brazil there is often an overemphasis on the lower sounds of a man's voice. The review tools are great as well. It is pricey, but well worth it!

Purchased a single language course thinking this would be good for learning while driving. Unfortunately the app is very buggy. Would not continuously play and would freeze frequently. Reached out to tech support but the only support you are given is "delete the app and re-install". The app is a simple audio player that plays audio recordings so shouldn't be difficult. The language course I purchased was created decades ago and has not received any expansion or advanced learning.

This app is very good at presenting the lessons in a coherent and insightful manner. The problem is that they don't give you enough time to think and respond to a question before the native speaker prompts you. You're right in the middle of the response when the native speaker starts talking and because you are trying to respond, you don't hear the correct form in the prompt. It's EXTREMELY frustrating. People learning a language MUST be given time to think as well as respond.

Good course bad app. Can't believe how buggy and not polished such a popular app made by a long standing name in language learning is. It's all just small things like inconsistent tracking, playback functions, background play control issues, the list goes on. It's what you would expect from either a free or a unfinished app not a monthly subscription based app made by a established company.

Enjoying it so far. I needed more listening and speaking practice. My only real complaint is sometimes there isn't enough time between questions to answer. This is more because I'm not always an now to think quickly, but it does get frustrating that right as I remember, the speaker says it before I can. Overall, it's worth the subscription

The audio courses are excellent, but everything else about the app feels completely half-baked and seems to just exist to justify the higher subscription tier. It's also very buggy and performs ridiculously slowly. Consider subscribing to the audio-only plan, which saves you around $5/month. You won't miss the useless app features.

Free trial is actually $20+ so don't be fooled. Tried to cancel during my free trial because it says it will automatically roll into a subscription, but you can't cancel it during the free trial because you "technically aren't subscribed" at that point. You have to wait for it to roll into the subscription to cancel it. Tried to get a refund but they said it has already been 24 hours since they charged me so they won't. Very put off by the shadiness which is unfortunate. Duolingo is way better

Studying Japanese: No universal way to turn off romaji; no way to change speed of audio (as far as I can tell); no way to stop audio from automatically playing on flash cards. Frankly, too much fluff—it's nice that reading is being incorporated nowadays, but it is not useful for learners if it's all in romaji. A fundamental lesson at the beginning of hiragana and katakana would be better, then using kanji and furigana thereafter. The voice coach is completely incompetent.

It's good for a little while. I would walk and study using it for 30 minutes to an hour a day. Then out of nowhere it starts throwing around 10-20 words/phrases (phrases being multiple new words paired up) now I might as well be studying using a textbook. I signed up for an easy to use, mobile studying method. I was already doing the same session 2 days in a row now I gotta do more and sit there hard studying? I'll go back to book learning thanks.

The Pimsleur method really works, and the app just amplifies it. The ability to switch between multiple languages makes it incredibly easy to become a multi-lingual student. The app itself has the perfect features to help learn any of the 50+ languages. Even if you just listen to the lessons, and don't use the other features in the app, you will still be amazed by the end of the level / course. Just focus on the lessons, and BOOM! you're saying stuff you never thought you would be able to.

As far as I can tell, you guys are doing a GREAT JOB and absolutely AMAZING as far as content is concerned!! :) My one suggestion is, as far as the app is concerned, I like to be able to do the lessons while I am driving in my car, however, I like to be safe and follow the rules of the road/ the law, and not mess with my phone too much... Is there some way that you're able to make it accessible to toggle with play/ pause/ skip commands for lessons from the lock screen instead of in app only?

I like the lessons but the voice coach AI is terrible! I've said "puedo pagarlas" 20 different ways and it still doesn't understand me. It thinks I'm saying "way down low now". It's very frustrating to say the same phrase over and over again when I'm clearly saying it correctly. I feel like it's taking away from the other phrases I could be practicing. For $22 a month, I would think the programming would be better. Duolingo's free lessons have a better speaking interface than this by far.

Great that's it's audio based. You can do other things while learning. Great little flash cards and quizzes too. But it needs a grammar/tense/case rulebook. Much less content for less popular languages and some of the dialog is just soooooo artificial. Sentences and conversations nobody would actually say. I would recommend if you're learning a major language with a lot more content or subscribe for just one month for a less popular one.

App is indeed a bit buggy.. voice recognition doesn't pick up on some words. Support is also a bit non responsive. I received an email back after a month from them to fix the issue. (At that point I'm already on another section with the same issues). So.. You're probably wondering why I left 4 stars. Because despite the bugs, It's great material for beginners and pointing you in the right direction. If you're not doing separate grammar studies, that's on you. Sigh,I just hope they fix the bugs.
