Pluot offers a great way to organize your stories. The Discord server is great for meeting other writers, too. The app developer is very attentive to feedback and questions, especially on the Discord server. You can even ask the developer to add new features to the app, and he will add them in a future update, if possible! I'd recommend this app to anyone who loves to write but needs somewhere to keep track of their characters, world-building, and plot structure.

I really like the layout, no tutorial needed to figure it out. One of my favorite features is no ads and no online data needed or pestering to share to some social media. THANK YOU. I did find that it is a bad idea to set your phone down while in the app without saving. My dog jumped on bed and stepped on phone which closed the app (I think he also ordered a trampoline from Zimbabwe and scheduled an Uber pick up). When I opened the app back up all my work was erased. So MAKE sure to hit save!

Loving this app! It has almost everything I would want (it looks like the developer is already looking into a timeline feature) and has a very clean, simple design. Lots of options I don't use (yet) but that would be very helpful for more complex stories. The only major flaw is that there doesn't appear to be a way to sync between devices. I'd love to be able to jot down ideas on my phone and have it ready on my chromebook when it's time to write.

I've tried many, many different story planning apps over the years, but this one leaves all others in the dust! It's so convenient and the amount of customization you can do for every aspect of a story is unrivaled. The fact that you can add your own sections is a huge plus! I haven't ran into any paywalls yet but for my own purposes I feel like it gives me exactly what I need for free.

This is the best writing planner I have found so far. I'm currently working on writing a novel and it's placed in a completely different world. There are so many details and places and characters to keep track of in it and this is what's helping me organize all of it. There are no ads. There are different sections for categories you need to plan and organize and a custom note area for things that may not be in the app already. Great app overall with no glitches or problems that I've found.

I am so bad at planning out stories, so I downloaded this app to guide me through it. It's perfect for what I need. I love the different prompt fields that give you a chance to really get to know your story elements, and the drag and drop feature is surprisingly helpful. The app itself is very clean and user friendly. The one thing I don't like about the app is that it can't be used across devices, beyond exporting a file. But for a free app with no ads, that's something I can work around

This is a wonderful app. The only issue for me is it currently doesn't sync between devices (not uncommon for this type of app so I'm not rating it down for that. Because I love everything else about it. The interface is so intuitive and organized. I can't speak highly enough of it and I eagerly await syncing so my neurodivergent self can use it the way I need. also.. no ads. thank you so freaking much.

One of the best of its kind I've found. Very decent grammar, setup, and stability—and free with no ads! Timeline and family tree would be really handy yeah, along with perhaps a basic script maker? Don't know if it's possible or if this is even the right app for that, but when I looked at the ad I had mistaken scene/storyline-making for scripting, and was a bit confused when I found that that wasn't an option. Edit: 2 character addition suggestions, fight/flight/freeze response & love language?

So, far I am loving it, all the different sections and customizations for writing ideas is extremely helpful. The weekly writing prompt contests are a great idea! There are a few bugs and I wish the save buttons were movable because sometimes they cover up what you're typing. But other than that I genuinely have no complaints. Thank you for this app!!!

I love this app so far! I was scared to do an outline, but by using this I've already ironed out so many kinks for a better flow in my story. The interface is simple and neat and there are lots of fill-ins that make you think. A couple things I would love to see in future updates would be more customizable choices. For example, when creating a character and adding a role, if I wanted to create a role for a "friend" or "enemy", I could create it from the settings. And tags! :3 Thank you ❤️❤️

I honestly love this app, it's helped me really devolpe my characters and get plot lines down. There's one thing I wish was a feature. For locations I would love it if there was a way to go deeper, such as when making a city having the ability to list other more specific places within the city instead of having to wlist them as a whole new location. Other than that this is a great app and keep up the good work.

I love this app the way it is. It lets me organize and helps to create new ideas for my story. However, I have some suggestions for future features, or just food-for-thought. More colors, or a color wheel. I have multiple characters that there are not enough colors for them. I think this would be a plus to every user of this app! This one is more optional, but something where you can implement photos for locations/characters would be awesome. For reference or to help you flesh it out. Thank you!

It's a free writing app with no ads, so it's got that going for it. I used it to write a fairly complex mystery novel. I liked how it kept track of scenes, though often the difficulty in moving scenes infuriated me. Just grab the bar and move, right? Not usually. The main shortcoming I found was in plotting. When I'm doing a mystery, I need to link plot points to scenes so I don't get ahead of myself, esp. after revision. Pluot doesn't do that. I finally gave up and used an Excel spreadsheet.

I'm a busy mom with too many unwritten worlds in her head. With little time to sit and write, I wanted to at least jot down my thoughts. This app is a wonder with so many options to work with that the details just write themselves! I've been on this app everyday since downloading it. Now most of my story is fleshed out (in just 5 days), which I've never achieved before 😲. Plus, I can't get over the quality without ads! Thanks, Pluot! P.S. Add more image options for book cover or other visuals.

long time fiction writer here. this app is the most useful mobile writer's tool i have ever used. downloaded it last year and still use it for organizing ideas, characters, and scenes when not on my computer. i use it for jotting down notes and ideas as well as reorganizing details and outlines. really handy, free, and no ads to deal with. if you write stories, screenplays, or novels-this app can't hurt you to have, and will most likely help you in small but important ways. it is a win-win!

I gave this app a 5 star review. Why? Because you can import and export your outlines and keep then organized. It is very helpful of my OCD. The character fields are amazing saying that you can pick and choose which ones you want for your characters. The scenes, storylines, and locations are all very well put together. It has addictional notes that are ooen for every part. Colors and pictures are perfect. I love how I can organize the order I want everything in. Highly recommend.👍🏻

Easily the best story writing method I've ever tried. GDocs, paper notebooks, and Notes apps were my go to but this is so much better in comparison. Everything has its own little tab to go into and the ease of linking important things like characters to a Scene is great. I'd definitely give this app 10 stars if I could. It's almost perfect, and the only thing I can think of to make it better would be a gallery function for storing visual ideas for each character, item, location, etc.

Great app! No ads as far as I seen. Doesn't crash and had awesome character questions that I would have never thought of. Thank you!! p.s I do recommend. Edit: Keeping the star rating because it's a good app regardless. I'm having trouble signing up for the pro version though. It won't let me sign up. After I enter my information it doesn't do anything after or load to another page to finish. Please help I'd really love to see the pro version and be able to use it.

Ive had many notes apps before, but this is the best one ive come across. I LOVE creating scenes, locations, and characters, and I used to have to write every detail about it on my old notes app. But this one makes creating characters/locations so easy! However, could you maybe add some things? It just needs more. Here are some ideas: Likes and Dislikes, Siblings, And Mental health disorders/illnesses.(Like, some characters are mentally ill yk :D) Please add these things. 5/5★

Great free writing app with some robust features and a nice UI. Subscription is not required to access the main features and there are no ads - which, in my opinion, is worth 5 stars on its own. Thank you for the great writing app. :) Update 03/2024: Custom items don't carry across templates, which is a huge pain. It's so generous with its free features that there really isn't much reason to get the pro subscription - I recommend getting a year anyway as a means of supporting the dev(s).
