Was a great app before it went multi threaded. I've downgraded to version 9.03 which works great. The latest versions constantly fail to download pods, some are marked as downloaded when they aren't. Others fail to play completely. The remaining are interspersed with sections of a different pod. The programmer is improperly managing memory allocations. The threads are competing for the same memory and overwriting each other. This is not an Android problem. This is internal to the app.

Update: ha!! Operator error. I own a handheld computer and am only capable of utilizing a FRACTION of what it can do😂 thanks for being great. Enjoying podbean for a variety of podcasts. Has worked well consistently for me. One question - for a short period of time, I had a cool widget that showed up on my lock screen, and the controls worked very well. Seems to have disappeared. Checked settings and user guide. Overall, lock screen controls have been much better in the recent past. Thanks!

This is my favorite podcast app - it does the job and nothing else, it doesn't push things I don't care about at me, the interface is clean. A few months ago it started spontaneously pausing every ~30 seconds or so if I'm using any other app while it runs in the background. I often play games to help me focus on the audio, so this is untenable. I did try sending feedback as they've instructed here, but that doesn't seem to function either. Bummer.

Great podcasts and so many ways to set preferences and manage your account. I was worried when I got the notice from Google that they were ending their podcasting service. Turns out to be the best thing that happened as it pushed me to find something so much better, and this is it. Update: Sadly, I can't get through one episode now without the player stopping multiple times. I went through the four suggested steps to fix it but no luck. Annoying and may be time to move on.

Podcasts now, almost 3/4 of the way thru, skip and return to about 1/2 way into the podcast. There's no way to undo this. Even after turning off the app and then returning it continues to do this. And can't skip to the end because the podcast says 0 minutes/seconds left but the podcast continues for 20 minutes after (and I've had to hear 15 minutes at least repeated). Not sure what is happening but a fix would be appreciated.

At some point, Podbean decided to add the ability to auto-download new podcasts and automatically enabled the setting. Over the past few months it downloaded many files on my device without my knowledge causing my phone to fill up and due to this I deleted several personal files in an attempt to free up space. I find it suspicious that a company would automatically download their content on my device without alerting to the new changes.

I use the app only to listen to podcasts. It works pretty well. It has a habit of glitching and jumping back in the podcasts. I can't seem to figure out how to set it to autoplay the next podcasts or how to make it not play the podcasts I've already listened to. A podcast marked played doesn't seem to stay marked that way.

In some ways better than stitcher, now no longer free, yet doesn't automatically add new casts to my playlists. Maybe I'm ignorant of the mechanics yet it's daunting to have to scroll thru the "new" queue to then add to my playlists. Baffling that some are added automatically, some not. Also, I didn't find some pods I like when searched for, often from substack but I find some are available now!

Since other big music apps are shutting down, i tried a ton of alternatives. The (cheap) paid version here runs stable, catches all the shows i like, and has a clean UI that's easy to navigate. Also, the paid version is cheaper than the big brand apps in the long term, something i value since I'm a veteran with a fixed income.

I get to listen to all my favorite podcasts. I'm editing my review to 2 stars. this app will randomly stop, all I have to do is press play to restart but I shouldn't have to do that. also it will just go to the end of the episode and spool. the fix for that is restart the app. currently looking for a new app.

Pretty good podcast app aside from two little gripes. Jumping back can take a number of seconds to work for some reason even though jumping forward takes no time at all, and I wish it was easy to see which episodes of a podcast I've listened to while scrolling through that podcasts list of episodes. You know, like a checkmark beside those episodes. That being said, this is the podcast app that I prefer above all others.

Autoplay goes to the older content rather than playing new content, making it frustrating to enjoy a narrative based podcast when it plays the previous episode after one is done. UI and notifications for new episodes is alright, and clicking the follow button let's you download what you want, if you want as things come out. But man, the auto play sucks. Also, there's no way to hide played episodes, which adds to the clutter when a show has 600 episodes.

I tried several different ones of all the recommend podcast apps after google podcast shut down. This one was the best in terms of user friendliness, layout, etc. Myy only complaint with it is sometimes an episode will skip back in play 30 to 60 seconds randomly. It's not that terrible but I'd prefer if it didn't do it. Even with that this is the app I'd recommend if you're still after losing google's app

Looking for a Google podcast app replacement, and found this. It seems to be an good replacement, but has it's issues. Podcasts update in their respective folders, and there doesn't seem to be a running list of latest podcasts. You have to manually refresh the folders. The UI gives you about four different experiences, depending on which screen you're in (lock screen, pulldown, app, etc.). Very geared toward starting your own podcast, listening seems secondary.

It's meh. Biggest problem, I've got to pay $10/year so I don't have to click three screens in order to see what's new. (In other words, the "discover" tab is the landing page by default. In order to change it to the podcasts I follow, there's an upcharge.) Apparently, the business strategy is to make an app that only works sort of well, and then ask us for money to make it work like it should.

I found this gem of a podcast app. quite accidentally and am very impressed with it. Among other ways you can "personalize" it, is the ability (in Settings) to *skip* as many seconds as you prefer both at the beginning and end of a podcast. After I've listened to one Episode of a number of podcasts, I usually *skip* the first 45-60 seconds. In general I *skip* the last 30 as well. I have not seen this ability within a y other podcast app. and I appreciate it. Thank you

Editing my review because the problem has been fixed. Thanks for the update. I am another person trying to find a Google podcast replacement and this one is fine. I wish the list of new episodes that are available was a bit easier to access. For example, why does it open to the discover page? The number of times I'm opening the app to look for a new podcast has to be 1 for every at least 100 times I'm opening to listen to the podcasts I'm subscribed to. I open the app and it takes me three taps

I've tried multiple podcast apps over the past 5-6 years and this one has quickly become my favorite. Loving the app so far as it has most of what I'm looking for. So much so, that I already subscribed! Just would love the ability to limit downloads to the latest 2-3 episodes, and better filtering options for searching as categories are very broad. Also, as a multilingual person, it would help to be able to search by podcast language.

I find this app quite frustrating. If it's front end was designed a bit more competently, it could be a great app. There's apparently no way to make a queue, other than making a "Playlist of your favorite episodes", which is just weird, it's PC integration is horrible, and intended for uploading original podcasts, not listening to existing ones. There's no way to limit the number of episodes in your pre-built "new" Playlist of all followed podcasts, causing hourly news pods to stack up. Almost.

I like many features of this app and keep coming back to it. However, when I mark an episode as played, that info is not saved indefinitely. That can be frustrating for long-running podcasts that have lots of episodes. I have reported this, and the problem still remains.monolog? The history only shows the past few days. I am referring to episodes listened to 2+ months ago. Once an episode is marked played it should stay that way. That's not happening.
