1. The app has hidden hotspots. For example, when I try and pause a podcast I end up clicking a link to an ad. 2. There are no dates on the podcast like other pod apps. 3. Sometimes after downloading and listening to a podcast the app's "downloading" notification gets stuck in my notifications forcing me to "Force Stop" the app.

I've been using this for years and have yet to find a podcast app that better matches my needs: small, light, and (most importantly) lets only download the episodes you're actually interested in hearing (and then re-order them into the playlist of your choice). All in all a fantastic bare-bones podcast app that only does what it needs to do and doesn't try to force any additional nonsense on you.

Used the app for years, but they recently added really intrusive ads every time you open the app. I get having some ads, but this is very unnecessary for an app with effectively no costs given it just pulls content. It's always had some bugs, but the prior lower ad format made it fine. Very disappointing, guess I'll move to spotify. Do NOT download this if you're looking for a simple, quality pod player.

😿😿😿 I have been using Podkicker Pro since I got an Android phone when they first came out. Today my icon changed to this app & now my downloads cannot be moved to my playlist. This was the way the original version worked and you could go back to it. Even though I have that box selected, it is not working. The thing is, I have been listening to podcasts since we collected audio files from bulletin boards. I just want it to work like it used to, please!

Used to be amazing app. The best podcast app. Now it's awful, Bluetooth forward and rewind buttons don't work, you can't refresh older episodes of podcasts/view older episodes to download and listen to. Overall quality has gone substantially downhill. I hate to say it, but take your business elsewhere. I've used this app daily for at least 7 or 8 years and now I'm looking for a replacement.

I've used many podcast players. Most for less than a day. This one I always come back to. I've had it installed on many android phones and worked well on all of them. I love the super basic UI and the ability to download or stream content. I have had some issue with searching but I'm not sure if its a problem with the app or user error.

Long time user here. This app has always been stable and sleek; though I may try other apps, I *always* have this on my mobile device and always come back to it. The only negative feedback I have is that exporting files seems to only work sometimes for me. Oftentimes it seems like they just get deleted instead, but I could be doing something wrong. This has been on various devices and across multiple updates.

I've used this app for years. I especially love the ability to sort podcasts manually. Recently however podcasts tend to stop for no reason (haven't timed it, perhaps every 30 mins or so) and the app asks if I want to subscribe about 50 times per day (without explaining much benefit, making it clear how or allowing me to stop the interruptions). I'm sad to have to find a new podcast app. Thanks for a good few years podkicker!

I've used this app for a very long time, possibly a decade and until recently it was just what I needed. It is even easy to get your subscriptions back when getting a new phone. Lately it has become pretty rough. If I have the app running and switch to my browser for 10 seconds and hop back to the app I have a full screen ad nearly every time to switch to premium which has a couple second delay for the "not now" button to pop up. I might switch if an app doesn't cut that ad rate down.

I preferred this app over many others for close to a decade now as I go through a lot of podcasts while I work, and this one consistently let me access direct RSS feeds and didn't push aggressive ads or subscriptions. However, it's recently got much buggier and today spontaneously deleted many GBs of already-downloaded podcasts (including ones that are no longer available and can't be recovered) as well as erasing all my subscriptions and listening history. Time to find a new app.

I have the paid version (only a few bucks - totally worth it), so I'm not experiencing the ads playing during a podcast that others have noted. I do, however, have one thing that keeps happening. When it starts to download new episodes, the status gets stuck in "downloading episodes" mode and it looks like it's endlessly downloading when it's not. Only way to fix it is to do a force stop on the app. Annoying, but other that that, it has been a fantastic app. Using a Galaxy S10, FYI.

Overall this is a very good podcast app with a couple pain points. Example: The scroll bar when browsing episodes is way too touchy so clicking around brings you way up or down in the list by accident. Additionally, when there's no internet collection it just blanks out which is confusing if you don't know what's wrong. Overall though it's pretty easy to use and lets you add your rss feeds too.

This is a revision of an earlier review. After years of working very well, an update 11/9/20 had rendered the app almost useless. Downloaded 'casts didn't stay sorted, but shifted order constantly and randomly. Looking for help on their web page, it appeared blank. Since initially sending this review, the bug was fixed and my happiness with the app restored. It provides access to podcasts without membership in any service. The search function works well for most feeds. Automatic downloads are optionally available for each subscription. New episodes are offered in a separate list where you can choose to listen and/or download if you don't want every episode automatically downloaded. The (now repaired) sorting function lets me find recent 'casts when it's time to listen. The Pro version (without ads) is a fair bargain. I have also discovered the Store has a feature allowing contact with developers other than negative reviews.

Apparently I gave this app a five-star review a few years ago. My opinions have changed. It's gotten much more aggressive about asking to upgrade to the $20 a year premium version, it's started pushing sponsored recommendations at me, and even though I have it set to only use wi-fi, if I don't let it access cellular data, it will stop playing podcasts that have already been downloaded. If I do let it access cellular data, it burns through my data plan at a prodigious rate.

This has been my go to podcast app since I switched to a smart phone. Unfortunately, the lastest update has really messed it up. Playback controls lag, podcasts play well past what the app thinks is the 100% mark, and worst of all it no longer shows what episodes are currently downloaded or have been listened to, making it impossible to listen to back episodes of long running shows. If it gets patched I'll gladly up my score to five stars, but in its current state the app doesn't deserve more.

Great app, but has a major problem. If there is no network available, podcasts will not play. I assume this is because ads will not load, but sometimes I don't always have good cell or wifi service. Edit to say, this does occur with downloaded podcasts. As soon as the app regains network it will all of a sudden begin playing audio. I will do some more testing.

Used to be one of my used apps but the skip forward/back over Bluetooth feature stopped working making it much less usable and annoying to the point I've started testing alternative apps. Update: The app maker responded that this is a known issue, that it had been fixed, and would release with the next update. That was a month ago. Still doesn't work. If you're a first time user looking for a podcast player go elsewhere.

I have been a loyal Podkicker user for years. The experience has evolved and now ads block basic functionality of the application. So I look into buying the ad free version and you cannot do so! You can do subscriptions but you cannot purchase. If you ever have to help a loved one cancel recurring subscriptions when their spouse dies, it is a painful process that takes months with endless phone calls, mailing death certificates etc. I am looking for a no subscription replacement app now.

Like many other reviewers, I have used this app for years. I liked that it had an easy UI and was fairly straightforward. It did what it needed to due which was play podcasts. Now, not so much. It crashes every 2 minutes. It is the most frustrating thing ever. I listen to podcasts to sleep, and it crashing every 2 minutes doesn't help. I also don't appreciate getting bombarded with upgrading to a premium version. By all means, get that bag. Too aggressive. Too buggy. Fix the bugs, please.

The app may or may not display the button to cast the podcast to my Nest speakers. It's very annoying. Sometimes the button is there, and sometimes it isn't. It also gave no warning when it wasn't downloading podcasts. I removed app, reinstalled, and at least got it to download. But it does not automatically download even though I've pressed every possible button on overall settings and individual channel settings. Honestly, it's too complicated. There should be one button, not seven.
