Constant glitches. Often suddenly stops working and prevents you from playing any songs. Bizarrely resistant to closing and restarting when there is an error. Takes a ridiculously long time to scan the library when installing on a new phone. Only thing keeping me from jumping is the lack of a better alternative.

I've been using poweramp for years and I'm not overly impressed with the new update because it removed access from SD card so that enturned pushed the user to manually move each new media file to the Play list. It was fine just the way it was so if it's not broken don't fix it.🙄 Update: Google may have removed the Legacy Mode for Android 13+ but the prior build to your latest update still works as it should. I thought I should inform you if you didn't know.

Want to love it. Really do. But it has severe, unacceptable issues with actually playing through Bluetooth devices, and really just switching between inputs in general.. It says it's using the Bluetooth speaker or wired headphones as the output everywhere. Yet the audio comes through my phone speaker at the same time. On top of that, further testing shows it destroys the ability for outputs to properly switch for all audio apps. It only ever happens after I load this up. Absolutely unacceptable.

It would be 5 stars if they would just give us a bit more freedom to rearrange the list options such as in library and so on, like instead of having to always be All Songs at the top, then Folders beneath that, make an option to rearrange them in the order we would prefer. And do that for all lists, not just the library. Also maybe label some of the more technical and confusing to the layman options or at least add parentheses with them explained more simply like what that certain option does

Some things I love, some not. The export/import feature to move to a new phone works FLAWLESSLY. HOWEVER, it appears IMPOSSIBLE to play all of an artist's songs via search. I liked the V2 interface much better, so I took the developer's advice and changed the V3 UI to look more like V2: ☰ Settings / ⧉ Look and Feel / Skin options / Alternative layout and Seekbar Style - Simple Seekbar, Pro buttons.

Update to original review below. There is customization that helped avoid my frustration below. Still not a fan of the ui but it seems like the best app that works with Android Auto. Original: Awkward navigation. Paid for the app, used it for years and want to stay with it but just paid for another app. Main issue is at the song view, hitting Back will exit the app. Why? Through years of usage, could never get over this awkwardness and frequently and unintentionally exited the app.

I regret purchasing this. I like it except the fact that it resamples everything. I want to listen to my lossless music without resampling. What's the point of storing local lossless files if this is just going to resample them to whatever it feels like? It says it resamples according to the output device. This is not true or doesn't work properly. When I use this app with my pmp and dac it stays at 96khz. Switch over to another music player and it immediately goes to the proper resolution.

This is the best player out there, visually and funcionally, however, there is a terrible obnoxiously loud distortion sound coming out if usb c dac is connected after bluetooth earbuds were. The sound of it is so bad even at lowest volume it hurts the ears and i am surprised my earphones didnt burn. No exaggeration. Looks like there is an issue with output switching or something, but still it is seriously dangerous and needs to be addressed. Happens to my sister too on a different phone and dac.

2 stars. It's a great player with lots of options and customizable features. HOWEVER when skipping songs via Bluetooth earbuds it would randomly pause the next song. This is not an issue with the earbuds, as I tested extensively with other apps. It only occurs in Poweramp. I tried every solution possible in the app and in the buds/Bluetooth settings. Sad to say that it is a flaw with this app. I even paid for the full version. I have switched to another.

Just installed this app and it already has more detail and a sense of effortlessness in the music than any other app I've tried over years. And that's with bluetooth headphones, not wired! My headphones are even better than I thought! The flexibility with controls are great to adjust almost anything one would want to. I am already pleased with the sound even before I plan to hook up my phone to an external DAC to use as a true audiophile source for my home system. Well thought out!

Terrible music player. I own the pro version, paid for the unlocker. The app comes on every time Bluetooth is connected, even if I was playing a different app before (podcast app, audio book app, etc) .. it is very difficult to figure out how to turn this setting off. .. in 2024 there are lots of good music players, I've switched to "Musicolet" app, simple and easy to use and free.

Wow. After going through about 20 music player apps (I use mp3's), nothing comes close to this. The sheer amount of options, many of which I don't even understand but may appreciate greatly in the future. The big one for me was being able to show the app on the lock screen and hold the track button down to scrub through long podcasts by 10 seconds at a time so I'm not fumbling with painfully non responsive mobile app scrubbing bars to relisten to the last few seconds of audio or skip ahead a bit

Best music app for Droid I've found, but please tell me how to keep it from stopping two or three songs into my playlists; this doesn't happen if I play all songs. Agree with reviewer who wishes more was explained, but I love this app. It is the easiest to use I've found and is the only one that sees all my files. The shuffle function is good, and the interface seems basically straightforward. I don't like a ton of frills, so I love this app. Nice job.

I love Poweramp. Great app. There's only one feature I wish the developers could somehow add. That is, I like to listen to audio books. But I listen to one for a bit, then change back to music again. However, when I wana go back to the audiobook, I have to figure out where I left off. It would be cool if there were some way to save your spot on something like audiobooks so when you return you could just load it and go. Does that make sense? Otherwise, keep up the great work.

This app was so frustrating in my car. I do not have Android Auto, just plain old Bluetooth. It took over my phone and could not be stopped from playing. Finally, there is a beta app release that fixes this. Now, when I swipe to close this down to use my Google maps feature or another music app such as Amazon Music, this doesn't interfere with it by coming back on by itself. With the EQ function, this is the best music app you can get for your Android device.

Poweramp's UI is one of, if not the best for a music player on the Play Store. The amount of customization is wonderful, but also not overly complicated so anyone can realistically pick it up. Unfortunately I need to take a star off, as you can't use Wavelet (the best eq app out there) along with this without worse audio quality. I've switched over to USB audio player pro because of this, and because Poweramp forces you to resample all of your music (also resulting in poorer quality).

As an avid music enthusiast, I’ve explored various music player apps over the years. However, none have left as lasting an impression as Poweramp. Allow me to share my thoughts on this exceptional app. 1. Unparalleled Audio Quality Poweramp’s audio engine is nothing short of remarkable. It supports an extensive range of formats, ensuring that your music sounds pristine regardless of the file type. Whether you’re listening to lossless FLAC files or your favorite mp3 tracks, Poweramp delivers ...

Great app, best one out there for playing and keeping a well organized library. Love the cover art displays and the variety of menu options for the UI. I was especially pleased to find out there was an internal equalizer so I could experiment with layering that over the others to get a more open and rich sound.

I've used this app for about 8 years and have loved it for so long and have recommended it to many people. The past year or so though, I've been getting extremely frustrated by two issues. 1) it crashes often and seemingly randomly. Nothing I've messed around with for settings or permissions changes this. 2) when I have music on apw volume through my earbuds or Bluetooth speaker, the volume will drop out in a pulsing way... Idk it's hard to describe but it usually makes me turn off the music.
