More About Pro Metronome

Pro Metronome is a powerful tool that helps you master both daily practice and stage performance. It has redefined how more than 3 million people sync to a beat on iOS, and now, Pro Metronome is coming to Android.
The free version is packed with features like the newly designed time signature interface – customized it any way you want. 13 time-keeping styles let you choose beat sounds that work for you – even a counting voice.. With RTP (Real-Time Playback) technology, it's more precise than a traditional mechanical metronome.

Pro Metronome is all about customization – change beat sounds, accents, and even choose from 4 different beat volume levels ("f", "mf", "p" and "mute.") With the Pro Version, access subdivisions, polyrhythm settings, and create complex patterns with triplets, dotted notes, and non-standard time signatures.

The app supports several ways to experience beats. All versions have sound, but upgrading to Pro enables Visual, Flash and Vibrate. Visual and Vibrate Modes are great when you're playing loud instruments or when you need to FEEL the beat. Flash Mode uses the device's camera flash to help your whole band sync up easily.

But Pro Metronome doesn't just help you keep time, it also helps you train. Many musicians, especially drummers, are looking for some way to help themselves keep a steadier beat. So Pro Metronome built the Rhythm Trainer - it plays one bar of beats, then mutes the next, letting you check how steady your timing really is. Increase mute time as you get better and soon you'll be closer to having perfect timing. It's a simple idea not found in any other app, one that lots of people have requested to increase their stamina and precision.

Pro Metronome supports many other features: polyrhythm mode to help drummers hear and visualize complex, interlocking beat patterns; background play mode; in-app volume adjust; even saving playlists that you can share with friends, no matter which system they are using(Android/iOS). It's a powerful, elegant app that is easy for anyone to get started with, and useful for any musician. So pick it up and sync to your own beat today!

We know that Pro Metronome for Android is far from perfect right now. However, we'll keep improving it in the next update and finally provide the same experiences as on iOS devices.

The last update made it so my phone tries to open .mp3 files in this metronome app, which doesn't work, and it seems impossible to find a setting to change it back without uninstalling this app.

I am so happy to see the app is being updated again! However, since the update I am unable to mute the metronome when my volume is all the way down. This is a bit of a problem in rehearsal!

It flashes four lights in sequence and has a metronome style back-forth indicator that doesn't sync (they tell you in a popup that they are aware it is not synced). Slightly confusing interface, this may be for experienced musicians who are already well-versed in more featureful metronomes than the old bpm & time signature models.

Excellent metronome! I've been using this for more than 10 years. I'd love to see more updates that include playlist backup and restore (ex. Google Drive) and adaptive app icon.

The subdivisions do not work properly. The metronome plays everything double time from where it should be if you change the note value from a quarter note. it does this regardless of whether you change the tempo calculation from bpm to quarter notes per minute It does not do this on IOS by the way. Ive been using this app for a long time on IOS. Please fix this!

This used to be my favorite metronome app by far, worked perfectly for me in every way. But then... something happened? Maybe the developer sold it off? First red flag: the import/export functions errored out with "cannot reach server" messages. Then it asked for additional permissions when I tried re-installing. Then when I revisited to try again, my phone gave me a "app using camera in background' type error (I hadn't opened in several days), so I uninstalled for good. Just, no.

The app is great. There's an issue with the bottom for Android where the icons are to either backup or view all active apps is showing and it won't lower. I don't know if that's strictly Android or if that's the app to queue it to go down so that you can see the rest of the keys.

Time to find a new met. Been using the paid version for years, but now it freezes when I change the tempo. It has been outdated for a while with a small aspect ratio, but I let that slide (until now) due to the functionality and sounds. The random crashes are just embarrassing now as I was using this daily teaching lessons. Google Play says the last update to this app was in 2016 so I'm giving up on this app altogether.

It works very well, and it is steady, but you need a non free version to do the super BASIC thing of subdivisions. I originally got this bc it is loud enough, but I'm uninstalling it because of this. I know that having the subdivisions unlocked only with the paid version, but subdivisions is such a basic functionality that it makes no sense to be not included with the free version, which is all I'll pay for for a downloadable peice of software metronome. But it is a good metronome.

HIGHLY recommended for all levels of musicians!! Intuitive dial design and "tap tempo" functionality are very convenient in my personal practice, and non-disruptive in group rehearsals. My students enjoy the variety of sound options including classic "tick-tock", hand claps, and assorted percussion effects. Stacked-block visual option lets my college students configure irregular complex meters, as well as helping my beginners to see/hear rhythmic subdivisions.

This has been my favorite metronome app because of its complete feature set. I find that having the flashing screen on the first beat is helpful for catching slight asynchronicities. Alas, I have just moved to Pixel 7a with Android 14, and the Google Play store says it's not compatible. Hope the app can be updated and continue its life on the new devices.

Great, good sounds and controls. Goes from 10-500, different sounds, change accents and subdivisions, and plays in background. Plays in the background is a big deal to me but the metronome does not have a volume control for balancing with other media. It really needs that feature in the app and I'd like at least a start and stop widget but I'm a widgety boi.

Excellent app! I was looking for a metronome with a timer and this app does a great job combining the metronome with a timer feature. I like to break my practice time into 5, 10, or 20 minute intervals and this app lets me set an alarm that tells me when to stop. The flashlight feature doesn't work on my Note9 but the screen flash does so it's all good. Great job team, it does everything I need for it to do. Also I like how I can change any attribute by just touching the display. Very nice!

I have been buying the pro version for i8 times and I don't know why it doesn't work. I pay and wait and I return to being pitched the pro version. Can someone just tell me what I'm doing wrong? It looks like it has potential.. The sounds are changeable, seeming by random but I CAN change the tempo accurately by cranking the huge knob like those old ones. I like the way it cuts through. Here's a feature I wanna see: program a drum pattern, replace sounds w/real pro samples. Link patterns. Boom.

Edit: unfortunately my issue was never resolved, but I did a Pixel 4a and it's all good now. I've used this app for 10 years and it's been flawless the whole time... Only problem is I recently switched from iPhone to Google Pixel 3a and there's something about the aspect ratio that makes it so I can no longer use the "show mode" feature in the playlists section. The buttons extend below my screen and can't be selected. Hopefully this is patched one day, I'll still be using it in the meantime.

A great metronome, and a very good price for the full version. I've had some lapses in performance, but nothing that makes the app unusable. The polyrhythm and subdivision functions are a nice addition to have. My only critique of this app is the practice function being limited to solely increasing the tempo. I would love to have a way to practice drum rudiments open-closed-open with a met, but it's impossible to even slow down the tempo over time, let alone speed up then slow down at once.

Not too bad. Nice and convenient when I'm practicing or learning music. Love the ability to set a timer. Also setting up a practice workout that will increase the tempo incrementally has been a help. The only two things I don't dig are the tap function (which I have found to be less than accurate). The other thing is I find it difficult exiting some of the preference and setting modes in order to get back to the metronome. A "back" arrow or a "home" tab would be a nice feature.

The app is nice until you start using it. If you go into Practice mode and set up a practice and start it the only way to stop it is to shut the app down and start over. The side swipe was not really thought through at all. If you go to the settings there is a collection of switches that slide from side to side. So using the side swipe to move back to the main screen turns off features that you did not intend or even turns on a few. How about a simple "Exit" button?

Love using this app. I have been using the paid version for years now on several different devices. However, I just upgraded my phone to the Google Pixel 4 xl and now the bottom of the app is cut off. No tap tempo, time signature, or practice mode for me. I would love to see this resolved and I will continue to use the app on my iPad where I do have those features available.

It functions fine for practicing, and there are lots of settings, but unfortunately there is no manual that tells you how to use the app. If I click on the info or support button, neither of them take me to the site. It just gives an error message. I paid for the pro version, but the info and support buttons still do not take me to the website. I also tried the website on my PC, but also just get an error message that the site does not exist. Disappointing.
