More About Probability Math Puzzles

This app offers over 90 probability math puzzles in three levels, from beginner to advanced. The intro puzzles are straightforward but some of the puzzles will be very challenging, even for people who have studied college-level probability -- try answering them all! If you get stuck, there's a hint at the bottom of each page, and you can easily skip puzzles (and return to them later) by swiping horizontally. Have fun!
This app is great practice for quantitative interviews (including quant, finance and tech interviews), for college-level probability classes, or for anyone interested in mathematical puzzles.

I've included a math parser so that you can type equations as answers: if the answer is 0.49^2, for example, you can type 0.49^2 or 0.49*0.49 without having to work out the multiplication yourself. Enjoy!

Really very good and tricky puzzles. Sometimes the hints are a bit bare but the questions are fantastic. The in built parser is nice but would be good to add the permutation/combination operators

The questions are good and sometimes it will test our confidence like in decimals,i recommend this app for all Olympiad level maths lovers and interview preparation candidates use it and give time to problems you love it.

The learning curve is very nice and the hints are very good just presenting a roadmap to the solution and not the solution itself. I learned a lot while solving the puzzles and had a lot of fun doing so. What more do you want?

I'm stuck at "Getting serious" problem 31. I simply don't understand the task itself. You have a collection where you have N distinct objects and you draw a sample of size N from there. It means that you take the whole collection as a sample and the probability that given object will appear is 1. But it's not the right answer it says?

I am sure that this would be both fun and educational, but I keep getting the message "I wasn't able to parse your answer ...." despite precisely copying the example answer. For example: E[X] = 0.7*(-1) + 0.2*1 + 0.4*1 I have tried entering the entire string without any spaces and with spaces between each element, but nothing works. Even if I do the maths and enter E[X] = -0.1, it still fails, so it is either the 'E[X]' or the '-0.1', which it doesn't like. This is very frustrating.

This is the best app I've ever installed. Simple, but with a lot of interesting exercises. I need a second version with more puzzles about combinatorics and also probability/statistics. I would pay for it.

Very good puzzles. Great interface, for example you can answer in terms of factorials, fractions... How ever you were thinking when you solved the problem. And, the final level questions are both quite interesting and difficult.

It provides hints (not always helpful if one's knowledge of statistics is weak). Providing detailed solutions with explanations (maybe as links to pages on a website) would help the less experienced users to learn some statistics. It is a good way to exercise your mind, nevertheless.

The app has a wide variety of puzzles related to probability. The questions are arranged wisely, starting from from easy combinatorics questions, all the way to more challenging concepts such as Markov chains, joint distributions, geometry and recursion. The hints are also provided quite wisely, such that they help in solving the question without spilling the entire solution. If one wants to have a good revision of probability, I would strongly recommend this app.

Applying probability is very non intuitive. The app gives you good practice. The questions are well selected and imply reasonable context. There is a lot of text, but when you're starting to feel drown, there is always a good picture :)

A great way to pass time and improve your math at the same time. The app is great in the sense that it has very well developed problems, properly sorted based on their difficulty and a descent UI. The only downside is addition of new problems happens rarely.

Great app overall, but I made the mistake of thinking that the app couldnt read "/ " properly cause I thought the number above the hint was the correct answer 😅, it wasnt, just the approximate of my answer. Worked out the answers the old pen and paper way, and got the correct answers. Great app, been a while since i did probability questions, it was a great revision experience.

This is an actually intellectual game that doesn't rely on stupid gimmicks, flashy colors and annoying sounds to 'motivate' you. It is just a bunch of probability puzzles. You need algebra to solve them. It's great.

Absolutely amazing. The math parser, is just phenomenal. I can actually see what I'm trying to give as an answer(logic) rather than just the numerical value. It's not just a refresher and probability learning app, but also a great place to appreciate the way statistics rules our world. One way to get to numbers in a natural way. Great job !

Having majored in economics, I simply expected a fun series of probability puzzles, but this app is way more than that. It explains the basics of probability in a fun and simple way, and even offers excellent resources for those who wish to go beyond what the app can teach. Definitely a must have for those who are interested in this area of maths or are looking to brush up on their skills.

First of all: It was a great game that I now installed on my new smartphone. The thing is that the installed language is apparently chosen automatically now. Why wouldn't you just let the user choose inside the app. Instead I need to switch the Android language settings each time for that. (Ty, however, for the last reply that at least told me that possibility).

Lots of interesting problems. The topic might better be described as combinatorics instead of probability. Fun way to pass time on the train. Need paper for a few problems though. Some of the images don't show in the hints though, for example, in the hint for the second to last puzzle at the hardest level.

The game starts out deceiving simple bit soon gets more difficult (and interesting). I was college professor, teaching statistical analysis and this game was a wonderful experience and review. I would certainly recommend it to even a beginner to the study of probability math as well as high school and college students studying probabilities as well as math majors.

The puzzles are fantastic, and the only possible improvement I could ask for is even more puzzles in the future. The app doesn't even have ads, which makes it just that much better! In my original review, I asked about a specific question about one of the problems I had trouble understanding. The developer (atorch) personally replied and tried to explain the flaw in my logic, and they were entirely correct and helpful. I want to thank them for this great application and for their amazing user interaction!

Extremely beautiful, meaningful, and valuable probability puzzles. If you are a student who is learning probability, or if you are a math (in this case probabilities) enthusiast, you will find this incomparably good. You will see lots of "classics", accompanied by other similarly engaging puzzles. Just grab a pen and several pieces of scratch paper. You don't need a calculator either. The program supports factorials and C(n, r) function.
