Mostly solid. Love the security. Wish I could tap and drag an event to move it, and change the color of events in the same calendar. The daily widget squishes all the text so it's unreadable. Wish there was a monthly widget. Will def keep using and hope to see these features in the future.

Days/Weeks Late notifications, don't show up on time for proton calendar. All notification permissions are granted, app is set to never go into deep sleep mode, i uninstalled and reinstalled. Aug 3 I got a notification for july 27 july 30, aug 4, August 10(I think that might be correct notify me 7 days before maybe. These are for bills and personal things. I missed a birthday in May because the notification was a week late. I missed a 2 bills last month because I didn't get any notifications.

update. The import and slow-less connectivity problems seem directly related to VPN. once I turned off VPN restarted the phone and then open the app it was quick to load and the import finally worked. so far so good The only thing I think is missing is the ability to import contact birthdays and holidays or to be able to import an ICS calendar from the mobile app.

It's okay, but. . This is a great simple calendar, but it can use some upgrades. Such as US holidays, moon phases, first day of spring, etc. It's okay, but it could be great. I use protonmail, and have been satisfied, so I know the Proton team can do great things. Just add those few items, and it would be a much better option. 👍

Just as good as their other apps. Can't rely think of anything that's missing. I have fully replaced Gmail and Google Calendar with the Proton equivalents. Only suggestion I have is to have a combined agenda / month view, like Google Calendar does: the month view (including event names) in the top part and details for the selected day in the bottom half.

Let me start off by saying this app UI is the best out there on the market to date but there are many things I think would make this app 100 times better than every other app. First I believe if there was an option to let the notification stay on my notification tab until I press a button that says "complete" I think for now I can manage with what is now but me having many notifications and clicking the "clear all" button, it also removes my very important calendar notification which is not okay

One big gripe. It should read other existing calendars. Without support for other calendars, I need multiple calendar apps (not ideal). For instance, Office 365/Outlook calendars. I don't know if it should sync them to my Proton account, but at the very least it should show them. Hopefully this gets added in the future, but for now, I have to use another app.

It seems to be a good calendar app, but it lacks the simple function of taking notes (date independent), which I use constantly. For that, I use ColorNote, which is a simple but functional calendar + notes app (its only drawback is that it only offers online backups at their own server, so I prefer not to trust it, and to manually backup my notes/agenda offline). So please, check out that app and implement that notes function on Proton Calendar, which would be an awesome improvement! Thanks !!

Runs well and I like the notifications. Could be improved when selecting a date, it'd be nice if the view scrolled to the first event of the day. Doesn't make sense for the default scroll to be zero, meaning 12am. Also how can I get more important dates like "First day of black history month"? These dates show up in Google calendar and I'm trying to switch over to Proton.

Seems pretty simple and helpful. One thing odd that I noticed is that under the edit event screen, there is a colored dot where is just says "my calendar". You can click this dot in both the android and web version, but doesn't do anything. It looks like it should allow you to control the color of the time slot on the calendar screen. If this is true and was able to work that way, that would be extremely helpful as I could easily categorize types of events by color. Like personal, business, etc.

I am very surprised. The devs really knew what they were doing. The UI is super easy to use and looks really nice. It's easy to view events and is way better than the other apps I've tried. I have tried Timetree, google Calendar, some app just called calender, and one other that ii don't remember the name of. They all have difficult to manage UI and features that are there but simply don't work. I can't seem to find dark mode option though.

I really wanted to use this. But offline usage is essentially non-functional. Yes, you can see your calendar without a data connection, but you cannot add an event. That's basically useless. Events are added by immediately uploading to the server. This is 1) very slow and 2) does not work without a data connection. I don't no why you can't add an event and then have the app sync in the background later. The stock Google calendar and many encrypted backup apps have worked this way for a decade.

The ONLY reason for any stars is for its security/privacy reputation. Re: the calendar, it doesn't have basic functions that even basic calendars have - ability to color code EVENTS; to view General Holidays; to enter events offline. And, I don't know if this is just a glitch in my specific app, but I can't edit all events. For some reason, some events come up with an edit button when you click on it, while others don't - you need to delete it and enter a new one just to change the time?

Basic functionality, but missing color-coding, holidays & contacts' birthdays. I would also like to see the ability to tap on the current month & quickly scroll back the years like other calendar apps have. Maybe also displaying the current date on the app icon, too. Will check every so often but not usable for me at this point. Edit: A year later & still none of these features. Disappointing. The Proton team keeps making new apps before fleshing out existing ones. Dropped another star.

I like being off Google & the great privacy Proton provides. However, it doesn't give u an option to search for birthdays/appts, etc, - which is really needed! Also, it glitches & changes the dates of some repeating events to the first day of the month. Weird & frustrating. Also want to be able to choose default font/format/reminders, etc. Other than that, happy with it.

It gets buggy pretty frequently and only uninstalling and reinstalling fixes the issue. It's like it won't load; the app hangs when you go to open it, or it hangs trying to load the calendar or it doesn't load all the features when you're trying to add an event. I'm really enjoying it and I use it a lot on my laptop, to the point that it's worth me just uninstalling and reinstalling, but it's not reliable yet. As an aside it would be nice if a calendar color could be bright brick red.

This app is great! Another successful private alternative to Google's software. The only thing that I would like is the ability to import things other than events from Google calendar, such as reminders, and the ability to create reminders in the app similarly to Google's calendar app. All in all, it's a n excellent calendar app. It displays events really well. I'd just like the ability to add reminders which can be crossed off upon completion.

I like the design and layout. (It essentially copies Google with different colors.) I like the privacy. It might be a great calendar app EXCEPT that it doesn't reliably display events!!! Over about a week that I've been experimenting with this it randomly won't display certain upcoming holidays at all! This means I simply can't trust it! What if it decides to just not show an important event that I enter in to it???! Reliability must be #1 even before security for something like this.

I really love using Proton products, although the calendar is particularly frustrating. Theres no way to color code calendars without makibg a whole new calendar list. This would be a huge improvement because i share a calendar and it would be easier to distinguish between our activities without making several shared calendars between us as well as having several personal calendars to distinguish as well. Theres also huge limitations on the app vs desktop. I hope these features improve!

Unfortunately this app just isn't reliable. Transfer from another provider isn't working & looses allot in the move. It also doesn't have a pin/bio lock! Why not? Is it not private information like Drive, Pass & Mail? I can open calendar, VPN, unchallenged & change/read/copy anything, even uninstall! The theme flow is perfectly aligned with PROTON & few more tweaks it will be perfect. Assuming the present UI team don't get to it first and remove all the useful functionality it's almost a 5 ⭐
